1-е Фессалоникийцам 5 [Russian:NIV]   
 
  1. О временах же и сроках нет нужды писать к вам, братия,
  2. ибо сами вы достоверно знаете, что день Господень так придет, как тать ночью.
  3. Ибо, когда будут говорить: 'мир и безопасность', тогда внезапно постигнет их пагуба, подобно как мука родами [постигает] имеющую во чреве, и не избегнут.
  4. Но вы, братия, не во тьме, чтобы день застал вас, как тать.
  5. Ибо все вы--сыны света и сыны дня: мы--не [сыны] ночи, ни тьмы.
  1. Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you,
  2. for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
  3. While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
  4. But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.
  5. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.
 
 
  1. Итак, не будем спать, как и прочие, но будем бодрствовать и трезвиться.
  2. Ибо спящие спят ночью, и упивающиеся упиваются ночью.
  3. Мы же, будучи [сынами] дня, да трезвимся, облекшись в броню веры и любви и в шлем надежды спасения,
  4. потому что Бог определил нас не на гнев, но к получению спасения через Господа нашего Иисуса Христа,
  5. умершего за нас, чтобы мы, бодрствуем ли, или спим, жили вместе с Ним.
  1. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.
  2. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.
  3. But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
  4. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
  5. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
 
 
  1. Посему увещавайте друг друга и назидайте один другого, как вы и делаете.
  2. Просим же вас, братия, уважать трудящихся у вас, и предстоятелей ваших в Господе, и вразумляющих вас,
  3. и почитать их преимущественно с любовью за дело их; будьте в мире между собою.
  4. Умоляем также вас, братия, вразумляйте бесчинных, утешайте малодушных, поддерживайте слабых, будьте долготерпеливы ко всем.
  5. Смотрите, чтобы кто кому не воздавал злом за зло; но всегда ищите добра и друг другу и всем.
  1. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
  2. Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you.
  3. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.
  4. And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
  5. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.
 
 
  1. Всегда радуйтесь.
  2. Непрестанно молитесь.
  3. За все благодарите: ибо такова о вас воля Божия во Христе Иисусе.
  4. Духа не угашайте.
  5. Пророчества не уничижайте.
  1. Be joyful always;
  2. pray continually;
  3. give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
  4. Do not put out the Spirit's fire;
  5. do not treat prophecies with contempt.
 
 
  1. Все испытывайте, хорошего держитесь.
  2. Удерживайтесь от всякого рода зла.
  3. Сам же Бог мира да освятит вас во всей полноте, и ваш дух и душа и тело во всей целости да сохранится без порока в пришествие Господа нашего Иисуса Христа.
  4. Верен Призывающий вас, Который и сотворит [сие].
  5. Братия! молитесь о нас.
  1. Test everything. Hold on to the good.
  2. Avoid every kind of evil.
  3. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  4. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
  5. Brothers, pray for us.
 
 
  1. Приветствуйте всех братьев лобзанием святым.
  2. Заклинаю вас Господом прочитать сие послание всем святым братиям.
  3. Благодать Господа нашего Иисуса Христа с вами. Аминь.
  1. Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
  2. I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.
  3. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
