  1. Господь отвечал Иову из бури и сказал:
  2. кто сей, омрачающий Провидение словами без смысла?
  3. Препояшь ныне чресла твои, как муж: Я буду спрашивать тебя, и ты объясняй Мне:
  4. где был ты, когда Я полагал основания земли? Скажи, если знаешь.
  5. Кто положил меру ей, если знаешь? или кто протягивал по ней вервь?
  1. Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
  2. Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
  3. Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
  4. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
  5. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
 
 
  1. На чем утверждены основания ее, или кто положил краеугольный камень ее,
  2. при общем ликовании утренних звезд, когда все сыны Божии восклицали от радости?
  3. Кто затворил море воротами, когда оно исторглось, вышло как бы из чрева,
  4. когда Я облака сделал одеждою его и мглу пеленами его,
  5. и утвердил ему Мое определение, и поставил запоры и ворота,
  1. Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
  2. When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
  3. Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?
  4. When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,
  5. And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,
 
 
  1. и сказал: доселе дойдешь и не перейдешь, и здесь предел надменным волнам твоим?
  2. Давал ли ты когда в жизни своей приказания утру и указывал ли заре место ее,
  3. чтобы она охватила края земли и стряхнула с нее нечестивых,
  4. чтобы [земля] изменилась, как глина под печатью, и стала, как разноцветная одежда,
  5. и чтобы отнялся у нечестивых свет их и дерзкая рука их сокрушилась?
  1. And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
  2. Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;
  3. That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
  4. It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.
  5. And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
 
 
  1. Нисходил ли ты во глубину моря и входил ли в исследование бездны?
  2. Отворялись ли для тебя врата смерти, и видел ли ты врата тени смертной?
  3. Обозрел ли ты широту земли? Объясни, если знаешь все это.
  4. Где путь к жилищу света, и где место тьмы?
  5. Ты, конечно, доходил до границ ее и знаешь стези к дому ее.
  1. Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?
  2. Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
  3. Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.
  4. Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
  5. That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?
 
 
  1. Ты знаешь это, потому что ты был уже тогда рожден, и число дней твоих очень велико.
  2. Входил ли ты в хранилища снега и видел ли сокровищницы града,
  3. которые берегу Я на время смутное, на день битвы и войны?
  4. По какому пути разливается свет и разносится восточный ветер по земле?
  5. Кто проводит протоки для излияния воды и путь для громоносной молнии,
  1. Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?
  2. Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
  3. Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
  4. By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?
  5. Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
 
 
  1. чтобы шел дождь на землю безлюдную, на пустыню, где нет человека,
  2. чтобы насыщать пустыню и степь и возбуждать травные зародыши к возрастанию?
  3. Есть ли у дождя отец? или кто рождает капли росы?
  4. Из чьего чрева выходит лед, и иней небесный, --кто рождает его?
  5. Воды, как камень, крепнут, и поверхность бездны замерзает.
  1. To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;
  2. To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?
  3. Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
  4. Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
  5. The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
 
 
  1. Можешь ли ты связать узел Хима и разрешить узы Кесиль?
  2. Можешь ли выводить созвездия в свое время и вести Ас с ее детьми?
  3. Знаешь ли ты уставы неба, можешь ли установить господство его на земле?
  4. Можешь ли возвысить голос твой к облакам, чтобы вода в обилии покрыла тебя?
  5. Можешь ли посылать молнии, и пойдут ли они и скажут ли тебе: вот мы?
  1. Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
  2. Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?
  3. Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
  4. Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?
  5. Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?
 
 
  1. Кто вложил мудрость в сердце, или кто дал смысл разуму?
  2. Кто может расчислить облака своею мудростью и удержать сосуды неба,
  3. когда пыль обращается в грязь и глыбы слипаются?
  4. Ты ли ловишь добычу львице и насыщаешь молодых львов,
  5. когда они лежат в берлогах или покоятся под тенью в засаде?
  1. Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?
  2. Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,
  3. When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?
  4. Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,
  5. When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?
 
 
  1. Кто приготовляет ворону корм его, когда птенцы его кричат к Богу, бродя без пищи?
  1. Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.
