  1. Знаешь ли ты время, когда рождаются дикие козы на скалах, и замечал ли роды ланей?
  2. можешь ли расчислить месяцы беременности их? и знаешь ли время родов их?
  3. Они изгибаются, рождая детей своих, выбрасывая свои ноши;
  4. дети их приходят в силу, растут на поле, уходят и не возвращаются к ним.
  5. Кто пустил дикого осла на свободу, и кто разрешил узы онагру,
  1. "Do you know the time the mountain goats give birth? Do you observe the calving of the deer?
  2. "Can you count the months they fulfill, Or do you know the time they give birth?
  3. "They kneel down, they bring forth their young, They get rid of their labor pains.
  4. "Their offspring become strong, they grow up in the open field; They leave and do not return to them.
  5. "Who sent out the wild donkey free? And who loosed the bonds of the swift donkey,
 
 
  1. которому степь Я назначил домом и солончаки--жилищем?
  2. Он посмевается городскому многолюдству и не слышит криков погонщика,
  3. по горам ищет себе пищи и гоняется за всякою зеленью.
  4. Захочет ли единорог служить тебе и переночует ли у яслей твоих?
  5. Можешь ли веревкою привязать единорога к борозде, и станет ли он боронить за тобою поле?
  1. To whom I gave the wilderness for a home And the salt land for his dwelling place?
  2. "He scorns the tumult of the city, The shoutings of the driver he does not hear.
  3. "He explores the mountains for his pasture And searches after every green thing.
  4. "Will the wild ox consent to serve you, Or will he spend the night at your manger?
  5. "Can you bind the wild ox in a furrow with ropes, Or will he harrow the valleys after you?
 
 
  1. Понадеешься ли на него, потому что у него сила велика, и предоставишь ли ему работу твою?
  2. Поверишь ли ему, что он семена твои возвратит и сложит на гумно твое?
  3. Ты ли дал красивые крылья павлину и перья и пух страусу?
  4. Он оставляет яйца свои на земле, и на песке согревает их,
  5. и забывает, что нога может раздавить их и полевой зверь может растоптать их;
  1. "Will you trust him because his strength is great And leave your labor to him?
  2. "Will you have faith in him that he will return your grain And gather it from your threshing floor?
  3. "The ostriches' wings flap joyously With the pinion and plumage of love,
  4. For she abandons her eggs to the earth And warms them in the dust,
  5. And she forgets that a foot may crush them, Or that a wild beast may trample them.
 
 
  1. он жесток к детям своим, как бы не своим, и не опасается, что труд его будет напрасен;
  2. потому что Бог не дал ему мудрости и не уделил ему смысла;
  3. а когда поднимется на высоту, посмевается коню и всаднику его.
  4. Ты ли дал коню силу и облек шею его гривою?
  5. Можешь ли ты испугать его, как саранчу? Храпение ноздрей его--ужас;
  1. "She treats her young cruelly, as if they were not hers; Though her labor be in vain, she is unconcerned;
  2. Because God has made her forget wisdom, And has not given her a share of understanding.
  3. "When she lifts herself on high, She laughs at the horse and his rider.
  4. "Do you give the horse his might? Do you clothe his neck with a mane?
  5. "Do you make him leap like the locust? His majestic snorting is terrible.
 
 
  1. роет ногою землю и восхищается силою; идет навстречу оружию;
  2. он смеется над опасностью и не робеет и не отворачивается от меча;
  3. колчан звучит над ним, сверкает копье и дротик;
  4. в порыве и ярости он глотает землю и не может стоять при звуке трубы;
  5. при трубном звуке он издает голос: гу! гу! и издалека чует битву, громкие голоса вождей и крик.
  1. "He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength; He goes out to meet the weapons.
  2. "He laughs at fear and is not dismayed; And he does not turn back from the sword.
  3. "The quiver rattles against him, The flashing spear and javelin.
  4. "With shaking and rage he races over the ground, And he does not stand still at the voice of the trumpet.
  5. "As often as the trumpet sounds he says, 'Aha!' And he scents the battle from afar, And the thunder of the captains and the war cry.
 
 
  1. Твоею ли мудростью летает ястреб и направляет крылья свои на полдень?
  2. По твоему ли слову возносится орел и устрояет на высоте гнездо свое?
  3. Он живет на скале и ночует на зубце утесов и на местах неприступных;
  4. оттуда высматривает себе пищу: глаза его смотрят далеко;
  5. птенцы его пьют кровь, и где труп, там и он.
  1. "Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars, Stretching his wings toward the south?
  2. "Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up And makes his nest on high?
  3. "On the cliff he dwells and lodges, Upon the rocky crag, an inaccessible place.
  4. "From there he spies out food; His eyes see it from afar.
  5. "His young ones also suck up blood; And where the slain are, there is he."
