  1. In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar). Its message was true and it concerned a great war. The understanding of the message came to him in a vision.
  2. At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks.
  3. I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.
  4. On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris,
  5. I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of the finest gold around his waist.
  1. 波斯王古列第三年、有事顯給稱為伯提沙撒的但以理．這事是真的、是指著大爭戰、但以理通達這事、明白這異象。
  2. 當那時、我但以理悲傷了三個七日。
  3. 美味我沒有喫、酒肉沒有入我的口、也沒有用油抹我的身、直到滿了三個七日。
  4. 正月二十四日、我在希底結大河邊、
  5. 舉目觀看、見有一人身穿細麻衣、腰束烏法精金帶。
 
 
  1. His body was like chrysolite, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.
  2. I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision; the men with me did not see it, but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves.
  3. So I was left alone, gazing at this great vision; I had no strength left, my face turned deathly pale and I was helpless.
  4. Then I heard him speaking, and as I listened to him, I fell into a deep sleep, my face to the ground.
  5. A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.
  1. 他身體如水蒼玉、面貌如閃電、眼目如火把、手和腳如光明的銅、說話的聲音如大眾的聲音。
  2. 這異象、惟有我但以理一人看見、同著我的人沒有看見、他們卻大大戰兢、逃跑隱藏、
  3. 只剩下我一人．我見了這大異象便渾身無力、面貌失色、亳無氣力。
  4. 我卻聽見他說話的聲音、一聽見就面伏在地沉睡了。
  5. 忽然有一手按在我身上、使我用膝和手掌、支持微起。
 
 
  1. He said, "Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you." And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.
  2. Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.
  3. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.
  4. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come."
  5. While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground and was speechless.
  1. 他對我說、大蒙眷愛的但以理阿、要明白我與你所說的話、只管站起來、因為我現在奉差遣來到你這裡．他對我說這話、我便戰戰兢兢的立起來。
  2. 他就說、但以理阿、不要懼怕、因為從你第一日專心求明白將來的事、又在你　神面前刻苦己心、你的言語巳蒙應允、我是因你的言語而來。
  3. 但波斯國的魔君、攔阻我二十一日、忽然有大君〔就是天使長二十一節同〕中的一位米迦勒來幫助我、我就停留在波斯諸王那裡。
  4. 現在我來要使你明白本國之民日後必遭遇的事、因為這異象關乎後來許多的日子。
  5. 他向我這樣說、我就臉面朝地、啞口無聲。
 
 
  1. Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing before me, "I am overcome with anguish because of the vision, my lord, and I am helpless.
  2. How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and I can hardly breathe."
  3. Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength.
  4. "Do not be afraid, O man highly esteemed," he said. "Peace! Be strong now; be strong." When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, "Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength."
  5. So he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come;
  1. 不料、有一位像人的、摸我的嘴唇、我便開口向那站在我面前的說、我主阿、因見這異象我大大愁苦、亳無氣力。
  2. 我主的僕人怎能與我主說話呢．我一見異象就渾身無力、亳無氣息。
  3. 有一位形狀像人的、又摸我使我有力量。
  4. 他說、大蒙眷愛的人哪、不要懼怕、願你平安、你總要堅強．他一向我說話、我便覺得有力量、說、我主請說、因你使我有力量。
  5. 他就說、你知道我為何來見你麼、現在我要回去與波斯的魔君爭戰、我去後希臘〔原文作雅完〕的魔君必來。
 
 
  1. but first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one supports me against them except Michael, your prince.
  1. 但我要將那錄在真確書上的事告訴你．除了你們的大君米迦勒之外、沒有幫助我抵擋這兩魔君的。
