  1. 凡信耶穌是基督的、都是從　神而生．凡愛生他之　神的、也必愛從　神生的。
  2. 我們若愛　神、又遵守他的誡命、從此就知道我們愛　神的兒女。
  3. 我們遵守　神的誡命、這就是愛他了．並且他的誡命不是難守的。
  4. 因為凡從　神生的、就勝過世界．使我們勝了世界的、就是我們的信心。
  5. 勝過世界的是誰呢．不是那信耶穌是　神兒子的麼．
  1. Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.
  2. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments.
  3. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.
  4. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.
  5. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
 
 
  1. 這藉著水和血而來的就是耶穌基督．不是單用水、乃是用水又用血。
  2. 並且有聖靈作見證、因為聖靈就是真理。
  3. 作見證的原來有三、就是聖靈、水、與血這三樣也都歸於一。
  4. 我們既領受人的見證、　神的見證更該領受了．〔該領受原文作大〕因　神的見證、是為他兒子作的。
  5. 信　神兒子的、就有這見證在他心裡．不信　神的、就是將　神當作說謊的．因不信　神為他兒子作的見證。
  1. This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
  2. For there are three that testify:
  3. the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
  4. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son.
  5. The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.
 
 
  1. 這見證、就是　神賜給我們永生、這永生也是在他兒子裡面。
  2. 人有了　神的兒子就有生命．沒有　神的兒子就沒有生命。
  3. 我將這些話寫給你們信奉　神兒子之名的人、要叫你們知道自己有永生。
  4. 我們若照他的旨意求甚麼、他就聽我們．這是我們向他所存坦然無懼的心。
  5. 既然知道他聽我們一切所求的、就知道我們所求於他的無不得著。
  1. And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
  2. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
  3. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
  4. This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
  5. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
 
 
  1. 人若看見弟兄犯了不至於死的罪、就當為他祈求、　神必將生命賜給他．有至於死的罪、我不說當為這罪祈求。
  2. 凡不義的事都是罪．也有不至於死的罪。
  3. 我們知道凡從　神生的必不犯罪．從　神生的必保守自己、〔有古卷作那從　神生的必保護他〕那惡者也就無法害他。
  4. 我們知道我們是屬　神的、全世界都臥在那惡者手下。
  5. 我們也知道　神的兒子已經來到、且將智慧賜給我們、使我們認識那位真實的、我們也在那位真實的裡面、就是在他兒子耶穌基督裡面。這是真　神、也是永生。
  1. If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask and God will for him give life to those who commit sin not leading to death There is a sin leading to death; I do not say that he should make request for this.
  2. All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.
  3. We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.
  4. We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
  5. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ This is the true God and eternal life.
 
 
  1. 小子們哪、你們要自守、遠避偶像。
  1. Little children, guard yourselves from idols.
