  1. 此後、亞捫人的王拿轄死了、他兒子接續他作王。
  2. 大衛說、我要照哈嫩的父親拿轄厚待我的恩典厚待哈嫩。於是大衛差遣使者為他喪父安慰他。大衛的臣僕到了亞捫人的境內見哈嫩、要安慰他、
  3. 但亞捫人的首領對哈嫩說、大衛差人來安慰你、你想他是尊敬你父親麼.他的臣僕來見你不是為詳察窺探、傾覆這地麼。
  4. 哈嫩便將大衛臣僕的鬍鬚剃去一半、又割斷他們下半截的衣服、使他們露出下體、打發他們回去。
  5. 有人將臣僕所遇的事告訴大衛、他就差人去迎接他們、因為他們甚覺羞恥.告訴他們說、可以住在耶利哥等到鬍鬚長起再回來。
  1. Now it came about after this, that Nahash the king of the sons of Ammon died, and his son became king in his place.
  2. Then David said, "I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me." So David sent messengers to console him concerning his father. And David's servants came into the land of the sons of Ammon to Hanun to console him.
  3. But the princes of the sons of Ammon said to Hanun, "Do you think that David is honoring your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Have not his servants come to you to search and to overthrow and to spy out the land?"
  4. So Hanun took David's servants and shaved them and cut off their garments in the middle as far as their hips, and sent them away.
  5. Then certain persons went and told David about the men. And he sent to meet them, for the men were greatly humiliated. And the king said, "Stay at Jericho until your beards grow, and then return."
 
 
  1. 亞捫人知道大衛憎惡他們、哈嫩和亞捫人就打發人、拿一千他連得銀子、從米所波大米、亞蘭瑪迦、瑣巴、雇戰車和馬兵。
  2. 於是雇了三萬二千輛戰車和瑪迦王並他的軍兵.他們來安營在米底巴前。亞捫人也從他們的城裡出來、聚集交戰。
  3. 大衛聽見了、就差派約押、統帶勇猛的全軍出去。
  4. 亞捫人出來、在城門前擺陣.所來的諸王另在郊野擺陣。
  5. 約押看見敵人在他前後擺陣、就從以色列軍中挑選精兵、使他們對著亞蘭人擺陣。
  1. When the sons of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the sons of Ammon sent 1,000 talents of silver to hire for themselves chariots and horsemen from Mesopotamia, from Aram-maacah and from Zobah.
  2. So they hired for themselves 32,000 chariots, and the king of Maacah and his people, who came and camped before Medeba. And the sons of Ammon gathered together from their cities and came to battle.
  3. When David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the army, the mighty men.
  4. The sons of Ammon came out and drew up in battle array at the entrance of the city, and the kings who had come were by themselves in the field.
  5. Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him in front and in the rear, he selected from all the choice men of Israel and they arrayed themselves against the Arameans.
 
 
  1. 其餘的兵交與他兄弟亞比篩、對著亞捫人擺陣。
  2. 約押對亞比篩說、亞蘭人若強過我、你就來幫助我.亞捫人若強過你、我就去幫助你。
  3. 我們都當剛強、為本國的民、和 神的城邑、作大丈夫.願耶和華憑他的意旨而行。
  4. 於是約押和跟隨他的人前進攻打亞蘭人.亞蘭人在約押面前逃跑。
  5. 亞捫人見亞蘭人逃跑、他們也在約押的兄弟亞比篩面前逃跑進城.約押就回耶路撒冷去了。
  1. But the remainder of the people he placed in the hand of Abshai his brother; and they arrayed themselves against the sons of Ammon.
  2. He said, "If the Arameans are too strong for me, then you shall help me; but if the sons of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will help you.
  3. "Be strong, and let us show ourselves courageous for the sake of our people and for the cities of our God; and may the LORD do what is good in His sight."
  4. So Joab and the people who were with him drew near to the battle against the Arameans, and they fled before him.
  5. When the sons of Ammon saw that the Arameans fled, they also fled before Abshai his brother and entered the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.
 
 
  1. 亞蘭人見自己被以色列人打敗、就打發使者將大河那邊的亞蘭人調來、哈大利謝的將軍朔法率領他們。
  2. 有人告訴大衛、他就聚集以色列眾人、過約但河、來到亞蘭人那裡、迎著他們擺陣。大衛既擺陣攻擊亞蘭人、亞蘭人就與他打仗。
  3. 亞蘭人在以色列人面前逃跑.大衛殺了亞蘭七千輛戰車的人、四萬步兵.又殺了亞蘭的將軍朔法。
  4. 屬哈大利謝的諸王見自己被以色列人打敗、就與大衛和好、歸服他.於是亞蘭人不敢再幫助亞捫人了。
  1. When the Arameans saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they sent messengers and brought out the Arameans who were beyond the River, with Shophach the commander of the army of Hadadezer leading them.
  2. When it was told David, he gathered all Israel together and crossed the Jordan, and came upon them and drew up in formation against them. And when David drew up in battle array against the Arameans, they fought against him.
  3. The Arameans fled before Israel, and David killed of the Arameans 7,000 charioteers and 40,000 foot soldiers, and put to death Shophach the commander of the army.
  4. So when the servants of Hadadezer saw that they were defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and served him. Thus the Arameans were not willing to help the sons of Ammon anymore.
