箴言 20 [繁體:NIV]   
 
  1. 酒能使人褻慢、濃酒使人喧嚷.凡因酒錯誤的、就無智慧。
  2. 王的威嚇如同獅子吼叫.惹動他怒的、是自害己命。
  3. 遠離分爭是人的尊榮.愚妄人都愛爭鬧。
  4. 懶惰人因冬寒不肯耕種.到收割的時候、他必討飯、而無所得。
  5. 人心懷藏謀略、好像深水.惟明哲人、纔能汲引出來。
  1. Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.
  2. A king's wrath is like the roar of a lion; he who angers him forfeits his life.
  3. It is to a man's honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.
  4. A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing.
  5. The purposes of a man's heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out.
 
 
  1. 人多述說自己的仁慈.但忠信人誰能遇著呢。
  2. 行為純正的義人、他的子孫、是有福的。
  3. 王坐在審判的位上、以眼目驅散諸惡。
  4. 誰能說、我潔淨了我的心.我脫淨了我的罪。
  5. 兩樣的法碼、兩樣的升斗、都為耶和華所憎惡。
  1. Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?
  2. The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.
  3. When a king sits on his throne to judge, he winnows out all evil with his eyes.
  4. Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?
  5. Differing weights and differing measures-- the LORD detests them both.
 
 
  1. 孩童的動作、是清潔、是正直、都顯明他的本性。
  2. 能聽的耳、能看的眼、都是耶和華所造的。
  3. 不要貪睡、免致貧窮.眼要睜開、你就喫飽。
  4. 買物的說、不好、不好.及至買去、他便自誇。
  5. 有金子和許多珍珠.〔或作紅寶石〕惟有知識的嘴、乃為貴重的珍寶。
  1. Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right.
  2. Ears that hear and eyes that see-- the LORD has made them both.
  3. Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare.
  4. "It's no good, it's no good!" says the buyer; then off he goes and boasts about his purchase.
  5. Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.
 
 
  1. 誰為生人作保、就拿誰的衣服.誰為外人作保、誰就要承當。
  2. 以虛謊而得的食物、人覺甘甜.但後來他的口、必充滿塵沙。
  3. 計謀都憑籌算立定.打仗要憑智謀。
  4. 往來傳舌的、洩漏密事.大張嘴的不可與他結交。
  5. 咒罵父母的、他的燈必滅、變為漆黑的黑暗。
  1. Take the garment of one who puts up security for a stranger; hold it in pledge if he does it for a wayward woman.
  2. Food gained by fraud tastes sweet to a man, but he ends up with a mouth full of gravel.
  3. Make plans by seeking advice; if you wage war, obtain guidance.
  4. A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much.
  5. If a man curses his father or mother, his lamp will be snuffed out in pitch darkness.
 
 
  1. 起初速得的產業、終久卻不為福。
  2. 你不要說、我要以惡報惡.要等候耶和華、他必拯救你。
  3. 兩樣的法碼、為耶和華所憎惡.詭詐的天平、也為不善。
  4. 人的腳步為耶和華所定.人豈能明白自己的路呢。
  5. 人冒失說、這是聖物、許願之後纔查問、就是自陷網羅。
  1. An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning will not be blessed at the end.
  2. Do not say, "I'll pay you back for this wrong!" Wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you.
  3. The LORD detests differing weights, and dishonest scales do not please him.
  4. A man's steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?
  5. It is a trap for a man to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider his vows.
 
 
  1. 智慧的王、簸散惡人、用碌碡輥軋他們。
  2. 人的靈是耶和華的燈、鑒察人的心腹。
  3. 王因仁慈和誠實、得以保全他的國位、也因仁慈立穩。
  4. 強壯乃少年人的榮耀.白髮為老年人的尊榮。
  5. 鞭傷除淨人的罪惡.責打能入人的心腹。
  1. A wise king winnows out the wicked; he drives the threshing wheel over them.
  2. The lamp of the LORD searches the spirit of a man ; it searches out his inmost being.
  3. Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love his throne is made secure.
  4. The glory of young men is their strength, gray hair the splendor of the old.
  5. Blows and wounds cleanse away evil, and beatings purge the inmost being.
