Matthew 28 [NIV:KJV]

  1. After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
  2. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.
  3. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
  4. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
  5. The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
  1. In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
  2. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
  3. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
  4. And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
  5. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

  1. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
  2. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
  3. So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
  4. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
  5. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."
  1. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
  2. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
  3. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
  4. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
  5. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

  1. While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened.
  2. When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money,
  3. telling them, "You are to say, 'His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.'
  4. If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble."
  5. So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
  1. Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
  2. And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
  3. Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
  4. And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
  5. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

  1. Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
  2. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
  3. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
  4. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
  5. and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
  1. Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
  2. And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
  3. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
  4. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
  5. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
