  1. Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years.
  2. He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and walked in the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left.
  3. In the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek the God of his father David. In his twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of high places, Asherah poles, carved idols and cast images.
  4. Under his direction the altars of the Baals were torn down; he cut to pieces the incense altars that were above them, and smashed the Asherah poles, the idols and the images. These he broke to pieces and scattered over the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.
  5. He burned the bones of the priests on their altars, and so he purged Judah and Jerusalem.
  1. 約西亞登基的時候、年八歲、在耶路撒冷作王三十一年。
  2. 他行耶和華眼中看為正的事、效法他祖大衛所行的、不偏左右。
  3. 他作王第八年、尚且年幼、就尋求他祖大衛的 神.到了十二年、纔潔淨猶大和耶路撒冷、除掉邱壇、木偶、雕刻的像、和鑄造的像。
  4. 眾人在他面前拆毀巴力的壇、砍斷壇上高高的日像、又把木偶和雕刻的像、並鑄造的像打碎成灰、撒在祭偶像人的墳上、
  5. 將他們祭司的骸骨燒在壇上、潔淨了猶大和耶路撒冷。
 
 
  1. In the towns of Manasseh, Ephraim and Simeon, as far as Naphtali, and in the ruins around them,
  2. he tore down the altars and the Asherah poles and crushed the idols to powder and cut to pieces all the incense altars throughout Israel. Then he went back to Jerusalem.
  3. In the eighteenth year of Josiah's reign, to purify the land and the temple, he sent Shaphan son of Azaliah and Maaseiah the ruler of the city, with Joah son of Joahaz, the recorder, to repair the temple of the LORD his God.
  4. They went to Hilkiah the high priest and gave him the money that had been brought into the temple of God, which the Levites who were the doorkeepers had collected from the people of Manasseh, Ephraim and the entire remnant of Israel and from all the people of Judah and Benjamin and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
  5. Then they entrusted it to the men appointed to supervise the work on the LORD's temple. These men paid the workers who repaired and restored the temple.
  1. 又在瑪拿西、以法蓮、西緬、拿弗他利各城、和四圍破壞之處、都這樣行。
  2. 又拆毀祭壇、把木偶和雕刻的像打碎成灰、砍斷以色列遍地所有的日像、就回耶路撒冷去了。
  3. 約西亞王十八年、淨地淨殿之後、就差遣亞薩利雅的兒子沙番、邑宰瑪西雅、約哈斯的兒子史官約亞、去修理耶和華他 神的殿。
  4. 他們就去見大祭司希勒家、將奉到 神殿的銀子交給他.這銀子是看守殿門的利未人、從瑪拿西、以法蓮、和一切以色列剩下的人、以及猶大、便雅憫眾人、並耶路撒冷的居民收來的。
  5. 又將這銀子交給耶和華殿裡督工的、轉交修理耶和華殿的工匠.
 
 
  1. They also gave money to the carpenters and builders to purchase dressed stone, and timber for joists and beams for the buildings that the kings of Judah had allowed to fall into ruin.
  2. The men did the work faithfully. Over them to direct them were Jahath and Obadiah, Levites descended from Merari, and Zechariah and Meshullam, descended from Kohath. The Levites--all who were skilled in playing musical instruments-
  3. had charge of the laborers and supervised all the workers from job to job. Some of the Levites were secretaries, scribes and doorkeepers.
  4. While they were bringing out the money that had been taken into the temple of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of the LORD that had been given through Moses.
  5. Hilkiah said to Shaphan the secretary, "I have found the Book of the Law in the temple of the LORD." He gave it to Shaphan.
  1. 就是交給木匠、石匠、買鑿成的石頭、和架木、與棟梁、修猶大王所毀壞的殿。
  2. 這些人辦事誠實.督工的是利未人米拉利的子孫雅哈、俄巴底.督催的是哥轄的子孫撒迦利亞、米書蘭、還有善於作樂的利未人。
  3. 他們又監管扛抬的人、督催一切作工的.利未人中、也有作書記、作司事、作守門的。
  4. 他們將奉到耶和華殿的銀子運出來的時候、祭司希勒家偶然得了摩西所傳耶和華的律法書。
  5. 希勒家對書記沙番說、我在耶和華殿裡得了律法書、遂將書遞給沙番。
 
 
  1. Then Shaphan took the book to the king and reported to him: "Your officials are doing everything that has been committed to them.
  2. They have paid out the money that was in the temple of the LORD and have entrusted it to the supervisors and workers."
  3. Then Shaphan the secretary informed the king, "Hilkiah the priest has given me a book." And Shaphan read from it in the presence of the king.
  4. When the king heard the words of the Law, he tore his robes.
  5. He gave these orders to Hilkiah, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Abdon son of Micah, Shaphan the secretary and Asaiah the king's attendant:
  1. 沙番把書拿到王那裡、回覆王說、凡交給僕人們辦的都辦理了。
  2. 耶和華殿裡的銀子倒出來、交給督工的、和匠人的手裡了。
  3. 書記沙番又對王說、祭司希勒家遞給我一卷書.沙番就在王面前讀那書。
  4. 王聽見律法上的話、就撕裂衣服、
  5. 吩咐希勒家與沙番的兒子亞希甘、米迦的兒子亞比頓、書記沙番、和王的臣僕亞撒雅、說、
 
 
  1. "Go and inquire of the LORD for me and for the remnant in Israel and Judah about what is written in this book that has been found. Great is the LORD's anger that is poured out on us because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written in this book."
  2. Hilkiah and those the king had sent with him went to speak to the prophetess Huldah, who was the wife of Shallum son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe. She lived in Jerusalem, in the Second District.
  3. She said to them, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Tell the man who sent you to me,
  4. 'This is what the LORD says: I am going to bring disaster on this place and its people--all the curses written in the book that has been read in the presence of the king of Judah.
  5. Because they have forsaken me and burned incense to other gods and provoked me to anger by all that their hands have made, my anger will be poured out on this place and will not be quenched.'
  1. 你們去為我為以色列和猶大剩下的人、以這書上的話求問耶和華、因我們列祖沒有遵守耶和華的言語、沒有照這書上所記的去行、耶和華的烈怒就倒在我們身上。
  2. 於是希勒家和王所派的眾人、都去見女先知戶勒大.戶勒大是掌管禮服沙龍的妻、沙龍是哈斯拉的孫子特瓦的兒子.戶勒大住在耶路撒冷第二區.他們請問於他。
  3. 他對他們說、耶和華以色列的 神如此說、你們可以回覆那差遣你們來見我的人說、
  4. 耶和華如此說、我必照著在猶大王面前所讀那書上的一切咒詛、降禍與這地、和其上的居民.
  5. 因為他們離棄我、向別神燒香、用他們手所作的惹我發怒、所以我的忿怒如火倒在這地上、總不息滅。
 
 
  1. Tell the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD, 'This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says concerning the words you heard:
  2. Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before God when you heard what he spoke against this place and its people, and because you humbled yourself before me and tore your robes and wept in my presence, I have heard you, declares the LORD.
  3. Now I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be buried in peace. Your eyes will not see all the disaster I am going to bring on this place and on those who live here.' " So they took her answer back to the king.
  4. Then the king called together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
  5. He went up to the temple of the LORD with the men of Judah, the people of Jerusalem, the priests and the Levites--all the people from the least to the greatest. He read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant, which had been found in the temple of the LORD.
  1. 然而差遣你們來求問耶和華的猶大王、你們要這樣回覆他說、耶和華以色列的 神如此說、至於你所聽見的話、
  2. 就是聽見我指著這地和其上居民所說的話、你便心裡敬服、在我面前自卑、撕裂衣服、向我哭泣、因此我應允了你.這是我耶和華說的。
  3. 我必使你平平安安地歸到墳墓、到你列祖那裡、我要降與這地和其上居民的一切災禍、你也不至親眼看見.他們就回覆王去了。
  4. 王差遣人招聚猶大和耶路撒冷的眾長老來。
  5. 王和猶大眾人、與耶路撒冷的居民、並祭司利未人、以及所有的百姓、無論大小、都一同上到耶和華的殿.王就把殿裡所得的約書念給他們聽。
 
 
  1. The king stood by his pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the LORD -to follow the LORD and keep his commands, regulations and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, and to obey the words of the covenant written in this book.
  2. Then he had everyone in Jerusalem and Benjamin pledge themselves to it; the people of Jerusalem did this in accordance with the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.
  3. Josiah removed all the detestable idols from all the territory belonging to the Israelites, and he had all who were present in Israel serve the LORD their God. As long as he lived, they did not fail to follow the LORD, the God of their fathers.
  1. 王站在他的地位上、在耶和華面前立約、要盡心盡性的順從耶和華、遵守他的誡命、法度、律例、成就這書上所記的約言.
  2. 又使住耶路撒冷和便雅憫的人、都服從這約.於是耶路撒冷的居民、都遵行他們列祖之 神的約。
  3. 約西亞從以色列各處、將一切可憎之物盡都除掉、使以色列境內的人、都事奉耶和華他們的 神。約西亞在世的日子、就跟從耶和華他們列祖的 神、總不離開。
