Psalms 141 [KJV:NIV]

  1. Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.
  2. Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
  3. Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
  4. Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.
  5. Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.
  1. O LORD, I call to you; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to you.
  2. May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.
  3. Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.
  4. Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil, to take part in wicked deeds with men who are evildoers; let me not eat of their delicacies.
  5. Let a righteous man strike me--it is a kindness; let him rebuke me--it is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it. Yet my prayer is ever against the deeds of evildoers;

  1. When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.
  2. Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.
  3. But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.
  4. Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.
  5. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.
  1. their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs, and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.
  2. They will say, "As one plows and breaks up the earth, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave. "
  3. But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign LORD; in you I take refuge--do not give me over to death.
  4. Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, from the traps set by evildoers.
  5. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
