열왕기상 5:1-6:38

 하나님의 섭리하심으로 솔로몬은 두로 왕 히람과 언약을 맺고 성전 건축에 필요한 자재와 기술자를 확보하였다. 그는 인력을 효과적으로 투입하여 7년 만에 성전을 완공하였다.
  
  성전 건축 준비(5:1-5:18)    
 
  1. 솔로몬은 유프라테스로부터 불레셋 땅을 지나 이집트 국경에 이르는 지역 안의 모든 왕국을 지배하였다. 그들은 솔로몬이 살아 있는 동안 조공을 바치며 섬겼다.
  2. 솔로몬의 하루 양곡은 고운 밀가루 삼십 섬, 거친 밀가루 육십 섬,
  3. 기름진 소 열 마리, 목장 소 스무 마리, 양 백 마리였고 그 밖에 수사슴, 산양, 수노루, 날짐승이 있었다.
  4. 그는 딥사에서 가자에 이르기까지 유프라테스 서쪽 전지역을 다스려 사방으로 평화를 유지하였다.
  5. 이렇게 솔로몬이 다스리는 동안, 유다와 이스라엘은 단에서 브엘세바에 이르기까지 마음놓고 살면서 저마다 자기의 포도나무와 무화과나무 아래에서 두 발 뻗고 잘 수 있었다.
  1. When Hiram king of Tyre heard that Solomon had been anointed king to succeed his father David, he sent his envoys to Solomon, because he had always been on friendly terms with David.
  2. Solomon sent back this message to Hiram:
  3. "You know that because of the wars waged against my father David from all sides, he could not build a temple for the Name of the LORD his God until the LORD put his enemies under his feet.
  4. But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster.
  5. I intend, therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the LORD my God, as the LORD told my father David, when he said, 'Your son whom I will put on the throne in your place will build the temple for my Name.'
  1. 솔로몬에게는 병거를 끄는 말을 둘 마굿간이 사천 간 있었고 말이 만 이천 마리 있었다.
  2. 그리고 이들 관리들이 솔로몬 왕과 솔로몬 왕의 식탁에 참석하는 이들을 위하여 각기 한 달씩 부족함이 없게 양곡을 대었다.
  3. 그들은 또 병거 끄는 말과 짐 나르는 짐승들이 먹을 보리와 밀짚을 지정한 곳으로 가져왔다.
  4. 더구나 하느님께서 솔로몬에게 지혜와 슬기를 한없이 주셨으므로 그의 박식하기가 바다의 모래 벌판 같았다.
  5. 솔로몬의 지혜는 동방의 어떤 사람도 따를 수 없었고 지혜 있다는 이집트의 누구도 따를 수 없었다.
  1. "So give orders that cedars of Lebanon be cut for me. My men will work with yours, and I will pay you for your men whatever wages you set. You know that we have no one so skilled in felling timber as the Sidonians."
  2. When Hiram heard Solomon's message, he was greatly pleased and said, "Praise be to the LORD today, for he has given David a wise son to rule over this great nation."
  3. So Hiram sent word to Solomon: "I have received the message you sent me and will do all you want in providing the cedar and pine logs.
  4. My men will haul them down from Lebanon to the sea, and I will float them in rafts by sea to the place you specify. There I will separate them and you can take them away. And you are to grant my wish by providing food for my royal household."
  5. In this way Hiram kept Solomon supplied with all the cedar and pine logs he wanted,

  1. and Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat as food for his household, in addition to twenty thousand baths , of pressed olive oil. Solomon continued to do this for Hiram year after year.
  2. The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, just as he had promised him. There were peaceful relations between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty.
  3. King Solomon conscripted laborers from all Israel--thirty thousand men.
  4. He sent them off to Lebanon in shifts of ten thousand a month, so that they spent one month in Lebanon and two months at home. Adoniram was in charge of the forced labor.
  5. Solomon had seventy thousand carriers and eighty thousand stonecutters in the hills,
  1. 그러자 솔로몬은 히람에게 사람을 보내어 대답하였다.
  2. "당신께서도 아시다시피 내 부친 다윗은 그분의 하느님 야훼께 성전을 지어 바치지 못하셨습니다. 야훼께서 그들을 부친의 발밑에 밟히게 하시기까지 사방에 있는 원수들과 전쟁을 하셔야 했기 때문입니다.
  3. 그러나 이제 나를 지키시는 하느님 야훼께서는 밖으로 외적을 물리쳐 평온하게 하시고 안으로는 변란을 일으킬 세력을 없애셨습니다.
  1. as well as thirty-three hundred foremen who supervised the project and directed the workmen.
  2. At the king's command they removed from the quarry large blocks of quality stone to provide a foundation of dressed stone for the temple.
  3. The craftsmen of Solomon and Hiram and the men of Gebal cut and prepared the timber and stone for the building of the temple.
 
  성전 건축(6:1-6:38)    
 
  1. 이스라엘 백성이 이집트 땅에서 탈출해 나온 지 사백팔십 년, 솔로몬이 이스라엘을 다스린 지 사 년째 되던 해 둘째 달 곧 시브월에 솔로몬은 야훼의 전을 짓기 시작하였다.
  2. 솔로몬 왕이 야훼께 지어 바친 전은 그 길이가 육십 척, 나비가 이십 척, 높이가 삼십 척이었다.
  3. 전의 본당 앞에 있는 현관의 길이는 전 자체의 나비 그대로 이십 척이고 그 나비는 전의 길이에 잇대어 십 척 더 나왔다.
  4. 전의 창들은 우묵 들어간 틀에 넣었다.
  5. 그는 또 전의 벽 둘레에다 건물을 지었는데 본당과 내실을 둘렀고 사방에 돌아가며 곁방들을 꾸몄다.
  1. In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites had come out of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the temple of the LORD.
  2. The temple that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty wide and thirty high.
  3. The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple extended the width of the temple, that is twenty cubits, and projected ten cubits from the front of the temple.
  4. He made narrow clerestory windows in the temple.
  5. Against the walls of the main hall and inner sanctuary he built a structure around the building, in which there were side rooms.
  1. 아래층은 나비가 다섯 척이고 가운데층은 여섯 척, 삼층은 일곱 척이었다. 전 밖에는 벽에 단을 두어 버팀들보가 전의 벽으로 들어가지 않도록 하였다.
  2. 돌은 채석장에서 다듬어 준비했기 때문에 전을 지을 때에는 망치나 정이나 그 어떤 연장을 다루는 소리도 성전에서 들리지 않았다.
  3. 가장 낮은 층의 입구는 전의 오른쪽에 내었고 나선형 층계를 밟고 가운데층으로 올라가고 또 가운데층에서 삼층으로 올라가게 되었다.
  4. 이렇게 솔로몬은 건축을 마쳤는데 전의 천장은 송백나무 들보와 널빤지로 되었다.
  5. 또 온 성전 곁에 건물을 지었는데 각 층은 높이가 다섯 척으로서 송백나무 재목으로 전과 맞붙게 하였다.
  1. The lowest floor was five cubits wide, the middle floor six cubits and the third floor seven. He made offset ledges around the outside of the temple so that nothing would be inserted into the temple walls.
  2. In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built.
  3. The entrance to the lowest floor was on the south side of the temple; a stairway led up to the middle level and from there to the third.
  4. So he built the temple and completed it, roofing it with beams and cedar planks.
  5. And he built the side rooms all along the temple. The height of each was five cubits, and they were attached to the temple by beams of cedar.
  1. 야훼의 말씀이 솔로몬에게 내렸다.
  2. "네가 짓는 이 집 말인데... 만일 네가 나의 규범대로 살아가고 내 규정을 따르며 나의 모든 계명을 지켜 그대로 살아가면 나는 네 아비 다윗에게 약속한 바를 너에게 이루어주리라.
  3. 그리하여 내 백성 이스라엘을 저버리지 아니하고 오히려 그 가운데서 지내리라."
  4. 솔로몬은 성전 건축 공사를 마쳤다.
  5. 그는 전의 안쪽 벽을 바닥에서 보꾹의 들보에 이르기까지 송백나무 널빤지로 붙였다. 전의 바닥은 전나무 널빤지로 깔았다.
  1. The word of the LORD came to Solomon:
  2. "As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, carry out my regulations and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father.
  3. And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel."
  4. So Solomon built the temple and completed it.
  5. He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, paneling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of pine.
  1. 또 이십 척 되는 전의 뒤쪽은 바닥에서 들보까지 송백나무 널빤지로 지었는데 그 내부를 밀실 곧 지성소로 지었고
  2. 이 밀실 앞쪽에 있는 본전은 길이가 사십 척인데
  3. 전의 안에 있는 송백나무에는 호리병과 여러 가지 꽃모양이 새겨져 있었다. 모두가 송백나무이며 돌은 눈에 뜨이지 않았다.
  4. 밀실은 전의 가장 깊숙한 곳에 꾸며놓았는데 거기에 그는 야훼의 계약궤를 모셨다.
  5. 그 밀실은 길이 이십 척, 나비 이십 척, 높이 이십 척인데 순금으로 입혔다. 또 송백나무 제단도 만들었다.
  1. He partitioned off twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
  2. The main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long.
  3. The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; no stone was to be seen.
  4. He prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.
  5. The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty wide and twenty high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar.
  1. 솔로몬은 전의 안쪽을 순금으로 입혔고 밀실 앞쪽에는 사슬을 늘여놓았는데 그것도 금을 입힌 것이었다.
  2. 그는 전 전체를 금으로 입혔다. 밀실에 있는 제단도 금을 입혔다.
  3. 밀실에는 올리브 나무로 높이 십 척 되는 거룹을 둘 만들어놓았다.
  4. 거룹의 한쪽 날개가 다섯 척이고 다른 날개도 다섯 척이었다. 그래서 날개 한 끝에서 다른 날개 끝까지는 십 척이 되었다.
  5. 다른 거룹도 십 척이 되었다. 두 거룹이 같은 치수, 같은 모양이었다.
  1. Solomon covered the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.
  2. So he overlaid the whole interior with gold. He also overlaid with gold the altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.
  3. In the inner sanctuary he made a pair of cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
  4. One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing five cubits--ten cubits from wing tip to wing tip.
  5. The second cherub also measured ten cubits, for the two cherubim were identical in size and shape.
  1. 한 거룹의 높이도 십 척이고 다른 거룹의 높이도 역시 십 척이었다.
  2. 솔로몬은 이 거룹을 전의 가장 깊숙한 곳에 두었는데 거룹의 날개는 펼쳐져 있어 한 거룹의 한쪽 날개가 한 벽에 닿았고, 다른 거룹의 한쪽 날개가 다른 벽에 닿아 있었으며 각각 나머지 날개는 전의 중앙에서 서로 잇대어 있었다.
  3. 솔로몬은 거룹에 금을 입혔다.
  4. 그는 전의 온 벽을 돌아가며 거룹과 종려나무와 핀 꽃모양을 돋을새김으로 새겨놓았다.
  5. 또 성전 안팎의 바닥을 금으로 입혔다.
  1. The height of each cherub was ten cubits.
  2. He placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple, with their wings spread out. The wing of one cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the other touched the other wall, and their wings touched each other in the middle of the room.
  3. He overlaid the cherubim with gold.
  4. On the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer rooms, he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers.
  5. He also covered the floors of both the inner and outer rooms of the temple with gold.
  1. 내실로 들어가는 입구의 문은 올리브 나무로 만들었는데 상인방과 문설주가 오각형을 이루었다.
  2. 두 올리브 나무로 만든 문에는 거룹과 종려나무와 핀 꽃모양을 돋을새김으로 조각하고 그 위에 금을 입혔다. 거룹 모양에도, 종려나무 모양에도 금을 입혔다.
  3. 본전으로 들어가는 입구의 문은 올리브 나무로 만들었는데 문설주는 사각형을 이루었다.
  4. 두 문이 전나무로 되어 있었는데 한쪽 문이 두 부분으로 접혔고 또 다른 문도 두 부분으로 접혔다.
  5. 그 위에다가 거룹과 종려나무와 핀 꽃모양을 새겨놓았다. 그리고 그 위에 금을 고루 입혔다.
  1. For the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood with five-sided jambs.
  2. And on the two olive wood doors he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid the cherubim and palm trees with beaten gold.
  3. In the same way he made four-sided jambs of olive wood for the entrance to the main hall.
  4. He also made two pine doors, each having two leaves that turned in sockets.
  5. He carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers on them and overlaid them with gold hammered evenly over the carvings.
  1. 또 다듬은 돌 세 줄과 송백나무 한 줄로 들보를 만들어 안뜰을 지었다.
  2. 제사년, 시브월에 야훼의 전 기초를 놓았다.
  3. 그리고 제십일년 팔월 곧 불월에 전이 그 설계한 대로 완공되었다. 솔로몬이 공사를 시작한 지 칠 년째 되던 해였다.
  1. And he built the inner courtyard of three courses of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams.
  2. The foundation of the temple of the LORD was laid in the fourth year, in the month of Ziv.
  3. In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in all its details according to its specifications. He had spent seven years building it.
