이사야 59:1-60:22

 이사야는 부조리로 가득 찬 이스라엘 백성들의 불의를 지적하고 그들의 죄악에 대해 하나님께 고백한 후, 그럼에도 불구하고 하나님께서 절망적인 인간의 구원을 위해 구속자를 통한 새 언약을 주셨다고 하였다. 하나님께서는 예전에 이스라엘을 억압하던 국가들이 이스라엘에게 복종함으로 이스라엘이 영구한 평화를 누리고 열방 중에 높임받게 될 것이라는 약속을 하셨다.
  
  죄와 구원 사역(59:1-59:21)    
 
  1. 야훼의 손이 짧아서 구해 내지 못하시겠느냐? 귀가 어두워서 듣지 못하시겠느냐?
  2. 너희가 악해서 너희와 하느님 사이가 갈라진 것이다. 너희가 잘못해서 하느님의 얼굴을 가려 너희 청을 들으실 수 없게 된 것이다.
  3. 너희 손바닥은 사람 죽인 피로 부정해졌고 손가락은 살인죄로 피투성이가 되었구나. 너희 입술은 거짓이나 지껄이고 너희 혀는 음모나 꾸민다.
  4. 모두들 하나같이 부당한 송사를 일으키고 없는 일을 꾸며내어 고소하는구나. 터무니없는 것을 믿고 사실무근한 소리를 지껄인다. 그 밴 것이 음모인데 잔악말고 무엇을 낳으랴?
  5. 독사의 알이나 품어 까려는 것들, 거미줄이나 치려는 것들, 그 알을 하나만 먹어도 사람은 죽고, 눌러 터뜨리면 독사가 나온다.
  1. Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.
  2. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
  3. For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt. Your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue mutters wicked things.
  4. No one calls for justice; no one pleads his case with integrity. They rely on empty arguments and speak lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.
  5. They hatch the eggs of vipers and spin a spider's web. Whoever eats their eggs will die, and when one is broken, an adder is hatched.
  1. 그들이 치는 거미줄로는 옷도 만들지 못하고 천을 짜서 몸을 두르지도 못한다. 그들이 한다는 짓은 잔학뿐이요, 손으로 한다는 짓은 횡포뿐이다.
  2. 그들의 발은 나쁜 짓이나 하러 뛰어다니고 죄없는 사람의 피나 흘리러 달린다. 잔악한 계책을 꾸며 닥치는 대로 빼앗아 먹고 짓부수는 것들,
  3. 평화의 길은 아랑곳도 없는데 그 지나간 자리에 어찌 정의가 있으랴? 그들이 구불구불 뚫어놓은 뒷골목을 가면서, 평화를 맛볼 사람이 있으랴?
  4. 그리하여 공평은 우리에게서 멀어만 가고 정의는 우리에게서 떨어져만 간다. 빛을 기다렸는데 도리어 어둠이 오고 환하기를 고대하였는데 앞길은 깜깜하기만 하다.
  5. 우리는 담을 더듬는 소경처럼 되었고 갈 길을 몰라 허둥대는 맹인이 되었다. 한낮인데도 황혼무렵인 듯 발을 헛딛기만 하는 모양이 몸은 피둥피둥한데도 죽은 것이나 다름없구나.
  1. Their cobwebs are useless for clothing; they cannot cover themselves with what they make. Their deeds are evil deeds, and acts of violence are in their hands.
  2. Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are evil thoughts; ruin and destruction mark their ways.
  3. The way of peace they do not know; there is no justice in their paths. They have turned them into crooked roads; no one who walks in them will know peace.
  4. So justice is far from us, and righteousness does not reach us. We look for light, but all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.
  5. Like the blind we grope along the wall, feeling our way like men without eyes. At midday we stumble as if it were twilight; among the strong, we are like the dead.
  1. 우리가 모두 곰처럼 으르렁거리고 비둘기처럼 신음하면서 공평을 고대하나 그것은 사라져가고 구원을 기다리나 그것은 멀어져만 간다.
  2. 하느님, 우리는 당신께 거역하기만 했습니다. 우리의 잘못이 우리를 고발합니다. 우리의 배신 행위가 눈앞에 뚜렷한데 어찌 우리가 죄악을 모른다 하겠습니까?
  3. 우리는 야훼를 거역하고 배반하였습니다. 우리 하느님을 외면하고 따르지 않았습니다. 우리는 비꼬는 말, 반항하는 말만 하였고 거짓말이나 토해 내고 있었습니다.
  4. 공평은 뒤로 제쳐놓았고 정의는 얼씬도 못하게 하였습니다. 성실은 대중 앞에서 짓밟혔고 정직은 통하지 못하게 되었습니다.
  5. 성실함이 종적을 감추고 악에서 발을 뺀 자가 도리어 약탈당하는 세상, 이다지도 공평하지 못하여 야훼께서 눈을 찌푸리시지 않을 수 없는 세상,
  1. We all growl like bears; we moan mournfully like doves. We look for justice, but find none; for deliverance, but it is far away.
  2. For our offenses are many in your sight, and our sins testify against us. Our offenses are ever with us, and we acknowledge our iniquities:
  3. rebellion and treachery against the LORD, turning our backs on our God, fomenting oppression and revolt, uttering lies our hearts have conceived.
  4. So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.
  5. Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The LORD looked and was displeased that there was no justice.
  1. 그의 눈엔 사람다운 사람 하나 보이지 아니하고, 중재하는 사람 하나 보이지 않으니 기막힐 수밖에, 그리하여 야훼께서는 당신의 팔만 믿고, 당신의 정의만을 집고 일어서신다.
  2. 몸을 감싼 갑옷에선 정의가 뻗어나고 머리에 쓴 투구에선 구원이 빛난다. 몸을 감은 속옷에는 응징이 숨어 있고 그 걸친 겉옷에선 열성이 흩날린다.
  3. 사람의 소행대로 갚으시고 적들에게 진노하시어 원수를 갚으시리라.
  4. 해 지는 곳에 사는 사람들이 야훼의 이름을 두려워하고, 해 뜨는 곳에 사는 사람들이 그의 권위 앞에서 떨리라. 밀어닥치는 강물처럼 그는 오신다. 야훼의 콧김에 밀려오는 강물처럼 오신다.
  5. 시온을 구하시러 오신다. 죄를 뉘우치고 돌아오는 야곱의 후손을 구하시러 오신다. 야훼의 말씀이시다.
  1. He saw that there was no one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so his own arm worked salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him.
  2. He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.
  3. According to what they have done, so will he repay wrath to his enemies and retribution to his foes; he will repay the islands their due.
  4. From the west, men will fear the name of the LORD, and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the LORD drives along.
  5. "The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins," declares the LORD.
  1. "내가 스스로 그들과 맺은 나의 계약은 이것이다." 야훼께서 말씀하신다. "나의 영을 너에게 불어넣고, 나의 말을 너의 입에 담아준다. 나의 이 말이 이제부터 영원히 너의 입과 너의 자손의 입과 대대로 이어질 자손들의 입에서 떠나지 아니하리라. 야훼가 말한다."
  1. "As for me, this is my covenant with them," says the LORD. "My Spirit, who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of their descendants from this time on and forever," says the LORD.
 
  시온의 영광(60:1-60:22)    
 
  1. 일어나 비추어라. 너의 빛이 왔다. 야훼의 영광이 너를 비춘다.
  2. 온 땅이 아직 어둠에 덮여, 민족들은 암흑에 싸여 있는데 야훼께서 너만은 비추신다. 네 위에서만은 그 영광을 나타내신다.
  3. 민족들이 너의 빛을 보고 모여들며 제왕들이 솟아오르는 너의 광채에 끌려오는구나.
  4. 머리를 들고 사방을 둘러보아라. 모두 너에게 모여오고 있지 않느냐? 너의 아들들이 먼 데서 오고, 너의 딸들도 품에 안겨온다.
  5. 이것을 보는 네 얼굴에 웃음의 꽃이 피리라. 너의 가슴은 벅차 올라 부풀리라. 바다의 보물이 너에게로 흘러오고 뭇 민족의 재물이 너에게로 밀려오리라.
  1. "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
  2. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
  3. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
  4. "Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the arm.
  5. Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come.
  1. 큰 낙타떼가 너의 땅을 뒤덮고 미디안과 에바의 낙타들이 우글거리리라. 사람들이 세바에서 찾아오리라. 금과 향료를 싣고 야훼를 높이 찬양하며 찾아오리라.
  2. 케달의 모든 양떼가 너에게로 모여오리라. 네가 느바욧의 숫양들을 제물로 바치게 되리라. 그것들이 나의 제단에 오르므로 나는 마음이 즐거워 영화로운 나의 집을 더욱 빛내리라.
  3. 누가 저렇게 구름처럼 두둥실 날아드느냐? 둥지로 돌아오는 비둘기처럼 날아드느냐?
  4. 나를 바라고 배를 몰아오는 사람들, 다르싯의 상선들이 앞장서 오는구나. 너의 아들들을 멀리서 데리고 오는데 그들의 금과 은도 함께 싣고 오는구나. 네 하느님 야훼의 이름을 높이려고 너를 아름답게 꾸며준 이스라엘의 거룩한 이를 찬양하려고 오는 것이다.
  5. 외국인들이 너의 성을 수축하고 그 왕들이 너의 신하가 되리라. 내가 노하여 너를 때렸지만 귀여운 생각이 들어 너를 가엾게 보았기 때문이다.
  1. Herds of camels will cover your land, young camels of Midian and Ephah. And all from Sheba will come, bearing gold and incense and proclaiming the praise of the LORD.
  2. All Kedar's flocks will be gathered to you, the rams of Nebaioth will serve you; they will be accepted as offerings on my altar, and I will adorn my glorious temple.
  3. "Who are these that fly along like clouds, like doves to their nests?
  4. Surely the islands look to me; in the lead are the ships of Tarshish, bringing your sons from afar, with their silver and gold, to the honor of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.
  5. "Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you. Though in anger I struck you, in favor I will show you compassion.
  1. 밤에도 낮에도 잠그지 아니하고 네 성문은 늘 열려 있어, 왕들이 앞장 선 가운데 뭇 민족이 보화를 성 안으로 들여오리라.
  2. 너를 섬기지 않는 민족과 나라는 망하리라. 그런 민족들이 살던 고장은 폐허가 되고 말리라.
  3. 레바논의 특산물이 너에게로 들어오고 전나무, 느릅나무, 회양목도 함께 들어오리라. 내가 이런 것으로 나의 성전이 서 있는 곳을 꾸미고 나의 발이 놓여 있는 곳을 장엄하게 만들리라.
  4. 너를 억누르던 자들의 후손이 허리를 구부리고 너에게 오리라. 너를 멸시하던 자들이 너의 발 아래 엎드리리라. 그들은 너를 '야훼의 도읍'이라, '이스라엘의 거룩하신 이의 시온'이라 부르리라.
  5. 너는 버림받은 몸이었다. 보기도 싫어하여 찾는 이도 없는 몸이었다. 그런데 나 이제 너를 길이 존귀하게 해주리니 대대로 사람들이 너를 반기리라.
  1. Your gates will always stand open, they will never be shut, day or night, so that men may bring you the wealth of the nations-- their kings led in triumphal procession.
  2. For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly ruined.
  3. "The glory of Lebanon will come to you, the pine, the fir and the cypress together, to adorn the place of my sanctuary; and I will glorify the place of my feet.
  4. The sons of your oppressors will come bowing before you; all who despise you will bow down at your feet and will call you the City of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
  5. "Although you have been forsaken and hated, with no one traveling through, I will make you the everlasting pride and the joy of all generations.
  1. 너는 뭇 민족의 젖을 빨며 제왕들의 젖을 먹고 자라리라. 그래서 나 야훼가 너를 구원한 줄을 알고, 야곱의 강하신 이가 너를 건져낸 줄을 알게 되리라.
  2. 내가 놋쇠 대신 금을 들여오고 쇠 대신 은을 들여오리라. 재목 대신 놋쇠를 들여오고 돌 대신 쇠를 들여오리라. 평화가 너를 다스리게 하고 정의가 너를 거느리게 하리라.
  3. 다시는 너의 나라 안에서 횡포한 일이 벌어졌다는 말이 들리지 않을 것이며, 침략자와 파괴자가 침입하였다는 말도 들리지 않으리라. 너는 너의 성벽을 '구원'이라 이름지어 부르고 너의 성문들은 '찬양'이라 이름지어 부르게 되리라.
  4. 낮에는 해가 너를 비출 필요가 없고 밤에는 달이 너를 비출 필요가 없으리라. 야훼가 너의 영원한 빛이 되고 너의 하느님이 너의 영광이 되리니
  5. 다시는 너의 해가 지지 아니하고 너의 달이 다시는 스러지지 아니하리라. 야훼가 너의 영원한 빛이 되리니 다시는 곡하는 날이 오지 아니하리라.
  1. You will drink the milk of nations and be nursed at royal breasts. Then you will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
  2. Instead of bronze I will bring you gold, and silver in place of iron. Instead of wood I will bring you bronze, and iron in place of stones. I will make peace your governor and righteousness your ruler.
  3. No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.
  4. The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.
  5. Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.
  1. 너의 백성은 모두 올바르게 살아 영원히 땅을 차지하리라. 너의 백성은 내가 심은 나무에서 돋은 햇순이요 내가 손수 만든 나의 자랑거리다.
  2. 가장 보잘것없는 자가 천 명으로 불어나고 가장 하잘것없는 자가 강대한 민족을 이루리라. 나 야훼가 제때에 지체없이 이루리라.
  1. Then will all your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor.
  2. The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly."
