- 그러나 그대가 가르치는 것은 건전한 교리와 부합해야 합니다.
- 나이 많은 남자들에게는 자제력이 있고 위엄이 있고 신중하며 건전한 믿음과 건전한 사랑과 건전한 인내를 갖추도록 가르치시오.
- 또 나이 많은 여자들에게는 남을 헐뜯거나 술의 노예가 되거나 하지 말고 경건한 몸가짐으로 선한 것을 가르치는 사람이 되라고 하시오.
- 그러면 젊은 여자들은 늙은 여자들의 훈련을 받아 자기 남편과 자식들을 사랑하게 되고
- 신중하고 순결하고 착한 여자가 되어 집안 살림을 잘하고 남편에게 복종하는 아내가 될 것입니다. 그래야 하느님의 말씀이 모독을 당하지 않게 될 것입니다.

- You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.
- Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
- Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.
- Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children,
- to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

- 또 젊은 남자들에게도 신중한 사람이 되라고 권고하시오.
- 그대는 스스로 모든 일에 있어서 좋은 행동의 본보기가 되고 남을 가르치는 데 있어서는 진지하고 위엄이 있어야 합니다.
- 그리고 남한테 책잡힐 것이 없는 건전한 말로 가르치시오. 그러면 우리를 반대하는 자가 우리를 흠잡을 근거를 찾지 못하고 부끄러움을 당하게 될 것입니다.
- 종들에게는 모든 일에 있어서 자기네 주인들에게 복종하고 주인들을 기쁘게 해주어야 한다고 가르치시오. 종들은 주인에게 말대꾸를 하거나
- 훔치는 일을 하지 말고 언제나 착하고 충성스러운 종노릇을 해서 모든 일에 있어서 우리의 구세주이신 하느님의 교훈을 장식해야 합니다.

- Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.
- In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness
- and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
- Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,
- and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.

- 하느님의 구원의 은총이 모든 사람에게 나타났습니다.
- 그 은총은 우리를 훈련해서 우리로 하여금 불경건한 생활과 세속적인 욕심을 버리게 하고 이 세상에서 정신을 차리고 바르고 경건하게 살게 해줍니다.
- 그리고 위대하신 하느님과 우리 구세주 예수 그리스도께서 영광스럽게 나타나실 그 복된 희망의 날을 기다리게 해줍니다.
- 그리스도께서는 우리를 위하여 당신의 몸을 바치셔서 우리를 모든 죄악에서 건져내시고 깨끗이 씻어주셨습니다. 그래서 우리는 그분의 백성으로서 선행에 열성을 기울이게 되었습니다.
- 그대는 큰 권위를 가지고 이러한 일들을 가르치고 사람들을 권고하고 또 책망하시오. 그대는 아무에게도 멸시를 당하지 않도록 하시오.

- For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.
- It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
- while we wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
- who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
- These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
