- 베드로는 여러 지방을 두루 다니다가 리따에 내려가서 거기 사는 성도들을 방문하게 되었다.
- 거기에는 팔 년 동안이나 중풍병으로 자리에 누워 있는 애네아라는 사람이 있었는데 베드로가 그를 보고
- "애네아, 예수 그리스도께서 당신의 병을 고쳐주셨습니다. 자리를 걷고 일어나시오." 하고 말하였다. 그러자 애네아는 곧 일어났다.
- 리따와 사론에 사는 사람들이 모두 그를 보고 주께로 돌아와 신도가 되었다.
- 한편 요빠에는 다비타라는 여신도가 살고 있었다. 그 이름은 그리스 말로 도르가, 곧 사슴이라는 뜻이다. 그 여자는 착한 일과 구제 사업을 많이 한 사람이었는데

- And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
- And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
- And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
- And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
- Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

- 그 무렵에 병이 들어 죽었다. 그래서 사람들이 그 시체를 깨끗이 씻어서 이층 방에 눕혀놓았다.
- 리따는 요빠에서 가까운 곳이어서 베드로가 리따에 있다는 말을 들은 신도들이 그에게 사람 둘을 보내어 지체하지 말고 와달라고 청하였다.
- 그래서 베드로는 곧 그들을 따라 나섰다. 베드로가 요빠에 이르자 사람들이 그를 이층 방으로 안내하였다. 과부들이 모두 베드로에게 몰려와서 울며 도르가가 살아 있을 때에 만들어두었던 속옷과 겉옷을 보여주었다.
- 베드로는 사람들을 방에서 모두 내보낸 뒤 무릎을 꿇고 기도를 드리고 나서 시체쪽으로 돌아서며 "다비타, 일어나시오." 하고 말하였다. 그러자 그 여자는 눈을 뜨고 베드로를 바라보며 일어나 앉았다.
- 베드로는 그 여자의 손을 잡아 일으켜 세웠다. 그리고 성도들과 과부들을 불러들여 다시 살아난 도르가를 보여주었다.

- And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
- And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
- Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
- But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
- And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

- 이 소문이 온 요빠에 알려지자 많은 사람이 주를 믿게 되었다.
- 그 뒤 베드로는 한동안 요빠에서 피장이 시몬의 집에 머물러 있었다.

- And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
- And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
