이사야 53:1-55:13

 이사야는 인간의 죄악을 대속하기 위하여 고난받게 될 메시아에 대해 예언하였는데, 이 고난은 세상 구원을 원하시는 하나님의 뜻을 이루기 위함이었다. 하나님께서는 이스라엘을 회복시켜 영광스럽게 하실 것을 약속하셨다. 구원의 하나님께서는 포로 생활로 지친 이스라엘뿐만 아니라 온 세상 만민을 구원의 길로 돌이키도록 초청하셨다.
  
  메시아의 고난(53:1-53:12)    
 
  1. 그러니 우리에게 들려주신 이 소식을 누가 곧이들으랴? 야훼께서 팔을 휘둘러 이루신 일을 누가 깨달으랴?
  2. 그는 메마른 땅에 뿌리를 박고 가까스로 돋아난 햇순이라고나 할까? 늠름한 풍채도, 멋진 모습도 그에게는 없었다. 눈길을 끌 만한 볼품도 없었다.
  3. 사람들에게 멸시를 당하고 퇴박을 맞았다. 그는 고통을 겪고 병고를 아는 사람, 사람들이 얼굴을 가리고 피해 갈 만큼 멸시만 당하였으므로 우리도 덩달아 그를 업신여겼다.
  4. 그런데 실상 그는 우리가 앓을 병을 앓아주었으며, 우리가 받을 고통을 겪어주었구나. 우리는 그가 천벌을 받은 줄로만 알았고 하느님께 매를 맞아 학대받는 줄로만 여겼다.
  5. 그를 찌른 것은 우리의 반역죄요, 그를 으스러뜨린 것은 우리의 악행이었다. 그 몸에 채찍을 맞음으로 우리를 성하게 해주었고 그 몸에 상처를 입음으로 우리의 병을 고쳐주었구나.
  1. Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
  2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
  3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
  4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
  5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
  1. 우리 모두 양처럼 길을 잃고 헤매며 제멋대로들 놀아났지만, 야훼께서 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 지우셨구나.
  2. 그는 온갖 굴욕을 받으면서도 입 한번 열지 않고 참았다. 도살장으로 끌려가는 어린 양처럼 가만히 서서 털을 깎이는 어미 양처럼 결코 입을 열지 않았다.
  3. 그가 억울한 재판을 받고 처형당하는데 그 신세를 걱정해 주는 자가 어디 있었느냐? 그렇다, 그는 인간 사회에서 끊기었다. 우리의 반역죄를 쓰고 사형을 당하였다.
  4. 폭행을 저지른 일도 없었고 입에 거짓을 담은 적도 없었지만 그는 죄인들과 함께 처형당하고, 불의한 자들과 함께 묻혔다.
  5. 야훼께서 그를 때리고 찌르신 것은 뜻이 있어 하신 일이었다. 그 뜻을 따라 그는 자기의 생명을 속죄의 제물로 내놓았다. 그리하여 그는 후손을 보며 오래오래 살리라. 그의 손에서 야훼의 뜻이 이루어지리라.
  1. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
  2. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
  3. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
  4. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
  5. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
  1. 그 극심하던 고통이 말끔히 가시고 떠오르는 빛을 보리라. 나의 종은 많은 사람의 죄악을 스스로 짊어짐으로써 그들이 떳떳한 시민으로 살게 될 줄을 알고 마음 흐뭇해 하리라.
  2. 나는 그로 하여금 민중을 자기 백성으로 삼고 대중을 전리품처럼 차지하게 하리라. 이는 그가 자기 목숨을 내던져 죽었기 때문이다. 반역자의 하나처럼 그 속에 끼여 많은 사람의 죄를 짊어지고 그 반역자들을 용서해 달라고 기도했기 때문이다.
  1. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
  2. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
 
  시온의 영광(54:1-54:17)    
 
  1. 환성을 올려라, 아기를 낳아보지 못한 여인들아! 기뻐 목청껏 소리쳐라, 산고를 겪어본 적이 없는 여자야! 너 소박맞은 여인의 아들이 유부녀의 아들보다 더 많구나. 야훼의 말씀이시다.
  2. 천막 칠 자리를 넓혀라. 천막 휘장을 한껏 펴라. 줄을 길게 늘이고 말뚝을 단단히 박아라.
  3. 네가 좌우로 퍼져 나가리라. 네 후손은 뭇 민족을 거느리고 무너졌던 도시들을 재건하리라.
  4. 두려워하지 마라. 네가 다시는 수치를 당하지 아니하리라. 수줍어하지 마라. 다시는 창피를 당하지 아니하리라. 너는 처녀 때의 수치를 잊을 것이요 과부 때의 창피를 결코 되씹지 아니하리라.
  5. 너의 창조주께서 너의 남편이 아니시냐? 그 이름 만군의 야훼시다. 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이가 너의 구세주 아니시냐? 그분은 전세계의 하느님이라 불리신다.
  1. Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
  2. Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;
  3. For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
  4. Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
  5. For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
  1. 그렇다, 버림받은 여자, 가슴에 상처를 입은 너를 야훼께서 부르신다. "조강지처는 버림받지 않는다." 너의 하느님께서 말씀하신다.
  2. "내가 잠깐 너를 내버려두었었지만, 큰 자비를 기울여 너를 다시 거두어들이리라.
  3. 내가 분이 복받쳐 내 얼굴을 잠깐 너에게서 숨겼었지만, 이제 영원한 사랑으로 너에게 자비를 베풀리라." 너를 건지시는 야훼의 말씀이시다.
  4. "내가 또다시 노아 시대에서처럼 맹세한다. 노아의 홍수가 다시는 세상을 휩쓸지 못하게 하리라고 맹세했듯이 나 이제 또다시 맹세한다. 내가 다시는 홧김에 너를 혼내 주지 아니하리라.
  5. 산들이 밀려 나고 언덕이 무너져도 나의 사랑은 결코 너를 떠나지 않는다. 내가 주는 평화의 계약은 결코 무너지지 않는다." 너를 불쌍히 여기시는 야훼의 말씀이시다.
  1. For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.
  2. For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.
  3. In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
  4. For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
  5. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
  1. "광풍에 시달려 고생하여도 위로해 주는 이 없는 도성아, 이제 나는 너의 돌들을 홍옥 위에 쌓아 올리고 청옥 위에 성의 주추를 놓으리라.
  2. 루비로 요새의 뾰족 탑을 만들고 수정으로 성문들을 만들며 성 둘레를 보석으로 쌓으리라.
  3. 너의 아들들은 모두 야훼의 제자가 되고 크나큰 평화를 누리리라.
  4. 네가 정의 위에 튼튼히 서서 온갖 압박에서 풀려나리니, 두려워할 일이 없으리라. 온갖 공포가 사라져 너에게 닥쳐오지 아니하리라.
  5. 억울하게 공격을 받는 일이야 있겠지만 너를 공격하는 자가 도리어 망하리라.
  1. O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
  2. And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.
  3. And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
  4. In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
  5. Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
  1. 숯불을 불어 피우고 자기가 쓸 연장을 만드는 대장장이를 나말고 누가 만들었겠느냐? 닥치는 대로 부수는 파괴자를 나말고 누가 만들었겠느냐?
  2. 너를 치려고 벼린 무기는 아무리 잘 만들었어도 소용이 없으리라. 너를 법정에 고소하는 혀가 도리어 패소의 쓴 잔을 마시리라. 바로 이것이 야훼의 종들이 나에게서 받을 몫이다. 내가 이 권리를 그들에게 돌려준다." 야훼의 말씀이시다.
  1. Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
  2. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
 
  구원에의 초청(55:1-55:13)    
 
  1. 너희 목마른 자들아, 오너라. 여기에 물이 있다. 너희 먹을 것 없는 자들아, 오너라. 돈 없이 양식을 사서 먹어라. 값 없이 술과 젖을 사서 마셔라.
  2. 그런데 어찌하여 돈을 써가며 양식도 못되는 것을 얻으려 하느냐? 애써 번 돈을 배부르게도 못하는 데 써 버리느냐? 들어라, 나의 말을 들어보아라. 맛좋은 음식을 먹으며 기름진 것을 푸짐하게 먹으리라.
  3. 귀를 기울이고 나에게로 오너라. 나의 말을 들어라. 너희에게 생기가 솟으리라.
  4. 나는 그를 뭇 백성들 앞에 증인으로 세웠고 부족들의 수령과 군주로 삼았다.
  5. 이제 너는 네가 알지 못하던 민족을 부르리라. 너를 모르던 민족들이 너에게로 달려오리라. 너희 하느님 야훼, 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이께서 너를 영화롭게 하신 것을 보았기 때문이다.
  1. Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
  2. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
  3. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
  4. Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
  5. Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
  1. 야훼를 찾아라. 만나주실 때가 되었다. 그를 불러라, 옆에 와 계신다.
  2. 불의한 자는 그 가던 길을 돌이켜라. 허영에 들뜬 자는 생각을 고쳐라. 야훼께 돌아오너라, 자비롭게 맞아주시리라. 우리의 하느님께 돌아오너라, 너그럽게 용서해 주시리라.
  3. "내 생각은 너희 생각과 같지 않다. 나의 길은 너희 길과 같지 않다." 야훼의 말씀이시다.
  4. "하늘이 땅에서 아득하듯 나의 길은 너희 길보다 높다. 나의 생각은 너희 생각보다 높다.
  5. 하늘에서 쏟아지는 비, 내리는 눈이 하늘로 되돌아가지 아니하고 땅을 흠뻑 적시어 싹이 돋아 자라게 하며 씨뿌린 사람에게 씨앗과 먹을 양식을 내주듯이,
  1. Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
  2. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
  3. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
  4. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
  5. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
  1. 내 입에서 나가는 말도 그 받은 사명을 이루어 나의 뜻을 성취하지 아니하고는 그냥 나에게로 돌아오지는 않는다."
  2. 이제, 너희는 기뻐 뛰며 길을 떠나 안내를 받으며 탈없이 돌아가리라. 너희를 맞아 산과 언덕들은 환성을 터뜨리고 들의 나무가 모두 손뼉을 치리라.
  3. 가시나무 섰던 자리에 전나무가 돋아나고 쐐기풀이 있던 자리에 소귀나무가 올라오리라. 이런 일이 야훼의 이름을 들날리고 영원히 사라지지 않는 표가 되리라.
  1. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
  2. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
  3. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
