- 아들아, 내 가르침을 잊지 말고 내 훈계를 마음에 간직하여라.
- 그러면 너는 오래 살고 날이 갈수록 행복을 누리게 된다.
- 성실하게 신의를 지켜라. 이것을 네 목에 걸고 네 마음속에 새겨두어야 한다.
- 그래야 너는 하느님과 사람 앞에서 훌륭한 사람으로 기림을 받는다.
- 마음을 다하여 야훼를 믿어라. 잘난 체하지 말고

- My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
- For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
- Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
- So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
- Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

- 무슨 일을 하든지 야훼께 여쭈어라. 그가 네 앞길을 곧바로 열어주시리라.
- 스스로 지혜로운 체하지 말고, 야훼를 두려워하여 섬기고 악을 멀리하여라.
- 그리하면 네 몸이 튼튼해지고 뼈마디가 시원해지리라.
- 네 소유를 바치고 땅에서 난 맏물을 드려 야훼를 공경하여라.
- 그러면 네 곳간이 가득 차고 네 술틀에서 햇포도주가 넘쳐나리라.

- In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
- Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
- It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
- Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
- So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
