- 아들아 들어라, 내 말을 들으면 오래 살리라.
- 나는 너에게 지혜로운 길을 가르쳐주었고 너를 곧은 길로 이끌었다.
- 네가 걸어가도 앞길이 막히지 않고 뛰어가도 넘어지지 아니하리라.
- 이 교훈을 흘려버리지 말고 굳게 잡아라. 그것이 네 목숨이니 잘 지켜라.
- 불의한 자들의 길에는 들어서지도 말고 악한 자들의 길은 거닐지도 마라.

- Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
- I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
- When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
- Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
- Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

- 그런 길에 발을 들여놓지 말고 발길을 돌려 비켜가거라.
- 그들은 악한 짓을 하지 않고는 자지 못하고 남을 쓰러뜨리지 않고는 잠들지 못한다.
- 그들은 불의로 얻은 양식을 먹고 강제로 빼앗은 술을 마시는 자들이다.
- 올바른 사람의 앞길은 동틀 녘의 햇살 같아서 점점 밝아져 대낮처럼 환해지겠지만,
- 불의한 자들은 그 앞길이 캄캄하여 넘어져도 무엇에 걸렸는지 알지 못한다.

- Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
- For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
- For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
- But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
- The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
