- 마지막 때에 어려운 시기가 닥쳐오리라는 것을 알아두시오.
- 그 때에 사람들은 이기주의에 흐르고 돈을 사랑하고 뽐내고 교만해지고 악담하고 부모에게 순종하지 않고 감사할 줄 모르고 경건하지 않고
- 무정하고 무자비하고 남을 비방하고 무절제하고 난폭하고 선을 좋아하지 않고
- 배신하고 앞뒤를 가리지 않고 자만으로 부풀어 있고 하느님보다 쾌락을 더 사랑할 것이며
- 겉으로는 종교 생활을 하는 듯이 보이겠지만 종교의 힘을 부인할 것입니다. 이런 자들을 멀리하시오.

- This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
- For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
- Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
- Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
- Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

- 그들 가운데는 여러 가지 정욕에 이끌려 죄에 빠져 있는 아낙네들을 유인하러 남의 집에 들어가는 사람들이 있습니다.
- 그 여자들은 언제나 배우기는 하지만 결코 진리를 깨닫는 데까지 이르지는 못합니다.
- 이런 자들은 얀네와 얌브레가 모세를 배반한 것처럼 진리를 배반할 것이며 정신이 부패해서 믿음의 낙오자가 될 것입니다.
- 저 얀네와 얌브레가 그랬듯이 이런 자들의 어리석음도 온 천하에 드러나서 결국 성공을 거두지는 못할 것입니다.
- 그러나 그대는 나의 가르침과 생활, 나의 생활 목표와 믿음, 나의 참을성과 사랑, 나의 인내를 본받아 살아왔으며,

- For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
- Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
- Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

- 내가 안티오키아와 이고니온과 리스트라에서 겪고 참아낸 끔찍한 박해와 고난을 그대도 함께 겪었습니다. 주께서는 이 모든 박해에서 나를 건져주셨습니다.
- 그리스도 예수를 믿고 경건하게 살기를 원하는 사람은 누구나 박해를 받게 될 것입니다.
- 그러나 악한 자들과 사기꾼들은 날로 더 사악해져서 남을 속이기도 하고 남에게 속기도 할 것입니다.
- 그대는 그대가 배워서 굳게 믿고 있는 그 진리를 지켜 나가시오. 그대는 어떤 사람들에게서 그 진리를 배웠는지 잘 알고 있습니다.
- 그대도 기억하다시피 그대는 어려서부터 성경을 잘 익혀왔습니다. 성경은 그리스도 예수를 믿음으로써 구원을 얻는 지혜를 그대에게 줄 수 있는 것입니다.

- Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

- 성경은 전부가 하느님의 계시로 이루어진 책으로서 진리를 가르치고 잘못을 책망하고 허물을 고쳐주고 올바르게 사는 훈련을 시키는 데 유익한 책입니다.
- 이 책으로 하느님의 일꾼은 모든 선한 일을 할 수 있는 자격과 준비를 갖추게 됩니다.

- All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
- That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
