- 어리석은 자는 성급하게 굴고 신중한 사람은 오래 참는다.
- 풋내기들은 어리석음을 제 몫으로 삼고 슬기로운 사람은 지식을 자랑으로 삼는다.
- 악한 자는 착한 사람 앞에 엎드리고 나쁜 자는 옳은 사람 문 앞에 엎드린다.
- 가난하면 이웃도 싫어하지만 돈이 있으면 친구도 많아진다.
