에스겔 21:1-22:22

하나님께서는 칼의 비유로써 바벨론을 통한 유다의 심판을 예고하셨다. 심판의 도구가 되는 바벨론 왕은 점친 결과에 따라 먼저 예루살렘을 공격한 후 암몬을 침공하게 되었다. 또한 하나님께서는 유다가 심판받는 원인이 그들의 범죄에 있음을 밝히시고 그들을 준엄히 심판함으로써 정화시키실 것임을 예고하셨다.
 
  하나님의 심판의 칼(21:1-21:32)    
 
  1. 야훼께서 나에게 이런 말씀을 내리셨다.
  2. "너 사람아, 오른쪽으로 얼굴을 돌려라. 남쪽에 대고 말을 전해 주어라. 남쪽 수풀을 쳐서 하는 내 말을 전하여라.
  3. 남쪽 수풀에 대고 말해 주어라. '야훼의 말을 들어라. 주 야훼가 말한다. 보아라, 내가 너에게 불을 놓으리라. 푸른 나무 마른 나무 할 것 없이 모조리 태울 터인데, 아무도 그 불을 끄지 못하리라. 남쪽에서 북쪽까지 사람의 얼굴이 다 불에 델 것이다.
  4. 그 꺼지지 않는 불을 놓은 것이 나 야훼임을 온 세상이 알리라.'"
  5. 내가 "아! 주 야훼여, 그러지 않아도 사람들은 저를 보고 비꼬는 말밖에 할 줄 모르는 놈이라고 합니다." 하고 외치니
  1. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
  2. Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
  3. And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
  4. Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:
  5. That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.
  1. 야훼께서 나에게 이런 말씀을 내리셨다.
  2. "너 사람아, 너는 얼굴을 예루살렘으로 돌리고 그 곳에 있는 성소에 말을 전해 주어라. 이스라엘 땅을 쳐서 하는 나의 말을 전하여라.
  3. 이스라엘 강토에 일러주어라. '주 야훼가 말한다. 나 이제 너를 원수로 돌리리라. 칼을 칼집에서 빼어 너희를 죄가 있는 자건 없는 자건 쳐죽이겠다.
  4. 너희를 죄가 있는 자건 없는 자건 쳐죽이려고 나는 칼을 빼들었다. 남쪽에서 시작하여 북쪽으로 가면서 닥치는 대로 칠 것이다.
  5. 이 야훼가 칼집에서 칼을 뽑았으니, 그냥 꽂지는 않으리라는 것을 온 세상이 알 것이다.'
  1. Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.
  2. And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.
  3. Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
  4. Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:
  5. It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.
  1. "너 사람아, 사람들이 보는 데서 허리가 끊어지는 듯한 괴로움으로 몸을 비틀며 애타게 울부짖어라.
  2. 왜 그렇게 울부짖느냐고 묻거든, 들려오는 소문이 너무나도 험악해서 그런다고 하여라. 이렇게 말하여라. '사람마다 간이 녹아나고, 맥이 풀리고 모두들 넋이 빠져 오줌을 쌀 일이 생겼다. 그 일이 이미 코앞에 닥쳐왔다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.'"
  3. 야훼께서 나에게 이런 말씀을 내리셨다.
  4. "너 사람아, 내 말을 전하여라. '주 야훼가 말한다. 칼이다! 잘 갈아서 날이 선 칼이다.
  5. 사람을 마구 무찌를 칼이다. 서슬이 퍼렇게 날이 선 칼이다......
  1. And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.
  2. Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh.
  3. Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD.
  4. Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together. and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.
  5. I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.
  1. 잘 갈아 날이 선 이 칼을 내가 누구의 손엔가 쥐어주리라. 벼려서 시퍼렇게 날이 선 이 칼을 살인자의 손에 쥐어주리라.
  2. 너 사람아, 울부짖어라. 통곡하여라. 이 칼이 내 백성을 겨누고 있다. 이스라엘의 모든 수령들을 겨누고 있다. 그들은 내 백성과 함께 이 칼에 쓰러지고 말리라. 가슴을 치며 울어라.
  3. 이미 써본 적이 있는 칼, 이 칼을 맞서는 권력이 있는데 어찌 쓰지 않으랴? 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  4. 너 사람아, 손뼉치며 내 뜻을 알려라. 이 칼을 두 번 휘두르고, 세 번 휘둘러라. 사람들을 무찌를 칼이다. 이 환도를 휘두르며 마구 무찔러라.
  5. 무수한 사람이 혼비백산하여 비틀거리며 쓰러지리라. 한창 무찌르기 좋은 이 날선 칼, 서슬이 퍼렇게 번뜩이는 이 칼, 성문이란 성문은 돌아가며 마구 무찔러라.
  1. Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever thy face is set.
  2. I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it.
  3. The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
  4. Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.
  5. Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.
  1. 뒤로 돌았다가 오른쪽으로 돌고 앞으로 돌았다가 왼쪽으로 돌며 휘둘러라.
  2. 나도 속 시원히 손뼉을 치리라. 나 야훼가 선언하였다.'"
  3. 야훼께서 나에게 이런 말씀을 내리셨다.
  4. "너 사람아, 바빌론 왕이 칼을 빼들고 한 길로 가다가 두 갈래로 갈리게 되는 길목에 방향 표지판을 새겨 세워라.
  5. 그 칼이 암몬 도시 라빠로도 갈 수 있고, 유다 중심부에 자리잡은 예루살렘으로도 갈 수 있게 표지판을 새겨 세워라.
  1. For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.
  2. At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.
  3. And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.
  4. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.
  5. And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end,
  1. 바빌론 왕이 그 길목에 멈추어 서서 점을 칠 것이다. 화살을 흔들어보기도 하고 수호신들에게 물어보기도 하고 간으로 점쳐보기도 할 것이다.
  2. 점괘는 오른쪽 예루살렘에 떨어질 것이다. 그리하여 그는 성문마다 성벽을 허무는 쇳덩이를 배치하고 돌로 축대를 쌓고 감시탑을 세우고는 도륙 명령을 내려 함성을 지르게 할 것이다.
  3. 예루살렘 주민은 나의 맹세만 믿고 그 점괘가 틀렸다고 생각하겠지만, 아니다. 그것은 예루살렘 주민이 죄가 있으므로 잡히게 되리라는 점괘이다.
  4. 주 야훼가 말한다. 너희가 나에게 거역하며 지은 죄가 드러났다. 온갖 못할 짓을 한 일들이 발각되었다. 너희는 나의 마음에 걸렸다. 그렇게 내 마음에 걸리는 일을 했기 때문에, 너희는 그들의 손에 잡히고 말 것이다.
  5. 너 이스라엘의 수령이라는 자, 이 더러운 놈, 죄수야, 마지막 벌을 받는 날이 다가왔으니 네 운명도 끝장이다.
  1. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.
  2. I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.
  3. And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:
  4. Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.
  5. Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.
  1. 주 야훼가 말한다. 왕관을 벗겨라, 면류관을 집어치워라. 위아래 없이 뒤섞이어 무엇 하나 그대로 남아 있지 않을 것이다.
  2. 멸하리라, 멸하리라. 일찍이 그같이 처참한 일을 당한 자 없도록 내가 그를 멸하리라. 마침내 정당한 통치권을 받은 자가 오면, 나는 그에게 권세를 넘겨주리라.
  1. And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.
  2. Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.
 
  예루살렘의 죄악상(22:1-22:22)    
 
  1. 야훼께서 나에게 이런 말씀을 내리셨다.
  2. "너 사람아, 네가 심판하려느냐? 죄없는 피를 흘리는 이 성의 주민을 심판하려느냐? 그들 가운데서 얼마나 역겨운 짓이 벌어지고 있는지를 낱낱이 알려주어라.
  3. '주 야훼가 말한다. 죄없는 피를 흘려 망할 날을 재촉하는 성읍아, 우상들을 만들어 부정해진 성읍아,
  4. 너는 죄없는 피를 흘려 벌을 자청하고 제 손으로 우상을 만들어 부정해졌다. 이렇게 망할 날을 스스로 앞당겨, 갈 데까지 다 가고 말았다. 그래서 나는 너를 뭇 민족들에게 수치를 당하게 하고, 온 세상의 웃음거리가 되게 하였다.
  5. 멀리 가까이 사는 모든 사람이 너를 온통 거꾸로 된 성, 입에 담기도 더러운 성읍이라고 빈정거릴 것이다.
  1. Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
  2. Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.
  3. Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.
  4. Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.
  5. Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art infamous and much vexed.
  1. 보아라. 이스라엘의 수령들은 마구 팔을 휘둘러 저희끼리 피 흘리기를 일삼고 있다.
  2. 너희들은 부모를 업신여기고 너희에게 와서 몸붙여 사는 떠돌이들을 학대하며 고아와 과부를 괴롭히고 있다.
  3. 너희는 거룩한 나의 성전을 업신여기고 나의 안식일을 욕되게 하였다.
  4. 너희 가운데는 남을 모함하여 죄없는 피를 흘리게 하는 자들이 있는가 하면 산에서 제물을 먹으며 추잡하게 구는 자들도 있다.
  5. 너희 가운데는 자기 아비가 데리고 사는 여인을 건드리는 자가 있는가 하면 월경 중인 부정한 여인을 가까이하는 자도 있다.
  1. Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.
  2. In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.
  3. Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.
  4. In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.
  5. In thee have they discovered their fathers' nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.
  1. 옆집 유부녀와 추태를 부리는 자가 있는가 하면 며느리와 놀아나는 자도 있고 같은 아비에게서 난 누이를 범하는 자도 있다.
  2. 너희 가운데는 뇌물을 먹고 죄없는 사람의 피를 흘리는 자도 있고, 돈놀이로 이웃을 터는 자도 있다. 그러면서 나는 잊고 있다. 주 야훼가 하는 말이다.
  3. 너희가 서로 착취하고 죽이는 것을 보고, 나는 지금 주먹을 불끈 쥐고 벼르고 있다.
  4. 내가 너희를 사정없이 닦달하는 날, 너희의 마음이 꺾이지 아니하고 너희의 맥이 빠지지 않는가 두고 보자! 나 야훼는 한번 한 말은 반드시 그대로 이룬다.
  5. 나는 너를 뭇 민족 가운데 흐트러뜨려 여러 나라로 쫓아보낼 것이다. 그러나, 그렇게 함으로써 너의 부정을 말끔히 씻어줄 것이다.
  1. And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father's daughter.
  2. In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.
  3. Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.
  4. Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.
  5. And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.
  1. 뭇 민족이 보는 데서 너희를 나의 것으로 삼아주리라. 그제야 너희는 내가 야훼임을 알게 될 것이다.'"
  2. 야훼께서 나에게 이런 말씀을 내리셨다.
  3. "너 사람아, 이스라엘 족속은 모두 나에게 쇠찌꺼기일 뿐이다. 은, 구리, 주석, 쇠, 납을 도가니에서 녹여내고 남는 찌꺼기일 뿐이다.
  4. 주 야훼가 말한다. 너희가 모두 쇠찌꺼기가 되었으니, 나는 너희를 예루살렘으로 쓸어 들이리라.
  5. 사람이 은이나 구리나 쇠나 납이나 주석을 도가니에 쓸어넣고 풀무질하여 녹이듯이, 너희를 쓸어다가 한데 넣고 분노의 입김으로 녹여버리리라.
  1. And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
  2. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
  3. Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.
  4. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
  5. As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.
  1. 너희를 그 안에 쓸어넣고 나의 분노의 불을 질러 녹여버리리라.
  2. 도가니 속에서 은이 녹듯이 너희도 그 안에서 녹아 없어지리라. 그제야 너희는 나 야훼가 화가 나서 너희에게 분노를 쏟은 줄을 알리라."
  1. Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst therof.
  2. As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.
