신명기 24:1-26:11

 모세는 일상 생활과 관련된 여러 가지 율법들을 제시하면서, 특별히 가난한 자들에 대한 배려를 잊지 말 것을 권고했다. 그리고 범법자에 대한 처벌은 경중을 따져 적절히 시행할 것과, 상거래에 있어 정당한 저울 추를 사용할 것과, 아말렉을 도말할 것을 명령했다. 또한 가나안 정착 후 땅의 첫 소산물을 하나님께 드리며 신앙을 고백하라고 명했다.
  
  가정사에 대한 규례(24:1-24:22)    
 
  1. 누가 아내를 맞아 부부가 되었다가 그 아내에게 무엇인가 수치스러운 일이 있어 남편의 눈 밖에 나면 이혼 증서를 써주고 그 여자를 집에서 내보낼 수 있지만,
  2. 그 여자가 나가 지내다가 다른 사람에게 시집을 갔는데,
  3. 둘째 남편도 그 여자를 싫어하게 되어 이혼 증서를 써 주고 집에서 쫓아냈다든가, 둘째 남편이 죽었다든가 할 경우에
  4. 그 여자를 내쫓은 처음 남편이 이렇게 몸을 더럽힌 여자를 다시 아내로 맞아들일 수는 없다. 이런 짓은 야훼께서 역겨워하시는 짓이다. 이런 짓을 하여 너희 하느님 야훼께서 너희에게 주시어 차지하게 하신 땅에 죄를 입혀서는 안 된다.
  5. 신부를 맞은 신랑은 싸움터에 나가지 않아도 되고 무슨 일에든지 징용당하지 않는다. 한 해 동안 그런 일에서 면제되어 집에 있으면서 새로 맞은 아내를 행복하게 해주어야 한다.
  1. "When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out from his house,
  2. and she leaves his house and goes and becomes another man's wife,
  3. and if the latter husband turns against her and writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her to be his wife,
  4. then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her again to be his wife, since she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before the LORD, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance.
  5. "When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out with the army nor be charged with any duty; he shall be free at home one year and shall give happiness to his wife whom he has taken.
  1. 맷돌은커녕 맷돌 위짝도 저당 잡힐 수 없다. 그것은 남의 목숨을 저당 잡는 일이다.
  2. 같은 동족인 이스라엘 사람을 부려먹거나 팔 생각으로 유괴한 자가 있거든 그를 죽여버려라. 그리하여 이런 나쁜 짓을 너희 가운데서 송두리째 뿌리뽑아야 한다.
  3. 문둥병에 걸린 사람이 있으면, 레위인 사제들이 지시하는 것을 어김없이 지켜 그런 사람을 조심해야 한다. 내가 명령한 대로 어김없이 지키도록 해야 한다.
  4. 너희가 이집트에서 나오던 길에 너희 하느님 야훼께서 미리암을 어떻게 하셨는지 기억하여라.
  5. 너희는 동족에게 무엇을 꾸어줄 때, 담보물을 잡으려고 그의 집에 들어가지 마라.
  1. "No one shall take a handmill or an upper millstone in pledge, for he would be taking a life in pledge.
  2. "If a man is caught kidnapping any of his countrymen of the sons of Israel, and he deals with him violently or sells him, then that thief shall die; so you shall purge the evil from among you.
  3. "Be careful against an infection of leprosy, that you diligently observe and do according to all that the Levitical priests teach you; as I have commanded them, so you shall be careful to do.
  4. "Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam on the way as you came out of Egypt.
  5. "When you make your neighbor a loan of any sort, you shall not enter his house to take his pledge.
  1. 너희에게서 꾸려는 사람이 담보물을 가지고 나오기까지 너희는 밖에 서 있어야 한다.
  2. 그 사람이 지극히 가난한 자일 경우 너희는 그가 잡힌 담보물을 덮고 자면 안 된다.
  3. 해 질 무렵이면 그 담보물을 반드시 돌려주어야 한다. 그러면 그는 그 옷을 덮고 자리에 들며 너희에게 복을 빌어줄 것이다. 이렇게 하는 것이 너희 하느님 야훼 보시기에 잘하는 일이다.
  4. 가난하기 때문에 품을 파는 사람을 억울하게 다루어서는 안 된다. 너희 나라, 너희 성문 안에 사는 사람이면 같은 동족이나 외국인이나 구별 없이
  5. 날을 넘기지 않고 해 지기 전에 품삯을 주어야 한다. 그는 가난한 자라 그 품삯을 목마르게 바라고 있는 것이다. 너희를 원망하며 외치는 소리가 야훼께 들려 너희에게 죄가 돌아오지 않도록 해야 한다.
  1. "You shall remain outside, and the man to whom you make the loan shall bring the pledge out to you.
  2. "If he is a poor man, you shall not sleep with his pledge.
  3. "When the sun goes down you shall surely return the pledge to him, that he may sleep in his cloak and bless you; and it will be righteousness for you before the LORD your God.
  4. "You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your countrymen or one of your aliens who is in your land in your towns.
  5. "You shall give him his wages on his day before the sun sets, for he is poor and sets his heart on it; so that he will not cry against you to the LORD and it become sin in you.
  1. 자식의 잘못 때문에 아비를 죽일 수 없고, 아비의 잘못 때문에 자식을 죽일 수 없다. 죽을 사람은 죄지은 바로 그 사람이다.
  2. 떠돌이와 고아의 인권을 짓밟지 마라. 과부의 옷을 저당 잡지 마라.
  3. 이집트에서 종살이하던 일을 생각해 보아라. 그런 너희를 너희 하느님 야훼께서 건져내셨다는 것을 잊지 마라. 그래서 내가 너희에게 이렇게 명령하는 것이니, 너희는 반드시 이를 지켜야 한다.
  4. 밭에서 곡식을 거둘 때에 이삭을 밭에 남긴 채 잊고 왔거든 그 이삭을 집으러 되돌아가지 마라. 그것은 떠돌이나 고아나 과부에게 돌아갈 몫이다. 그래야 너희 하느님 야훼께서 너희가 손수 하는 모든 일에 복을 내려주실 것이다.
  5. 올리브 나무 열매를 떨 때, 한번 지나간 다음 되돌아가서 가지들을 샅샅이 뒤지지 마라. 그것은 떠돌이나 과부에게 돌아갈 몫이다.
  1. "Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin.
  2. "You shall not pervert the justice due an alien or an orphan, nor take a widow's garment in pledge.
  3. "But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and that the LORD your God redeemed you from there; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.
  4. "When you reap your harvest in your field and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow, in order that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
  5. "When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow.
  1. 포도를 딸 때에도, 한번 지나간 다음 되돌아가서 다시 뒤지지 마라. 그것은 떠돌이나 고아나 과부에게 돌아갈 몫이다.
  2. 너희가 이집트 땅에서 종살이하던 일을 생각해 보아라. 그래서 내가 이렇게 명령하는 것이니, 너는 반드시 이를 지켜야 한다.
  1. "When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not go over it again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow.
  2. "You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.
 
  인간 관계에 대한 규례(25:1-25:19)    
 
  1. 사람들 사이에 분쟁이 생기면 법정에 가서 재판을 받아야 한다. 물론 옳은 사람에게 무죄를 선고해야 하고 그른 사람에게 유죄를 선고해야 한다.
  2. 그런데 유죄 판결을 받은 사람에게 내린 형이 매를 치는 것이라면, 재판관은 그를 자기 앞에 엎드리게 하고 죄의 경중을 따라 몇대이든지 때리게 해야 한다.
  3. 그러나 사십 대 이상을 넘기지는 못한다. 한 동족을 그 이상 때려 너희 눈앞에서 지나친 천대를 받게 해서는 안 된다.
  4. 곡식을 밟아 떠는 소의 입에 망을 씌우지 마라.
  5. 여러 형제가 함께 살다가 그 중의 하나가 아들 없이 죽었을 경우에 그 남은 과부는 일가 아닌 남과 결혼하지 못한다. 시동생이 그를 아내로 맞아 같이 살아서 시동생으로서의 의무를 감당해야 한다.
  1. "If there is a dispute between men and they go to court, and the judges decide their case, and they justify the righteous and condemn the wicked,
  2. then it shall be if the wicked man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall then make him lie down and be beaten in his presence with the number of stripes according to his guilt.
  3. "He may beat him forty times but no more, so that he does not beat him with many more stripes than these and your brother is not degraded in your eyes.
  4. "You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing.
  5. "When brothers live together and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the deceased shall not be married outside the family to a strange man. Her husband's brother shall go in to her and take her to himself as wife and perform the duty of a husband's brother to her.
  1. 그래서 난 첫아들은 죽은 형의 이름을 이어받아 그의 이름을 이스라엘 가운데서 사라지지 않게 해야 한다.
  2. 그런데 만일 그 사람이 형수를 아내로 맞지 않으려 할 경우에는 형수는 성문께로 장로들에게 올라가서 이렇게 호소해야 한다. '나의 시동생이 형의 이름을 이스라엘 가운데서 이어가게 할 생각이 없습니다. 그래서 시동생으로서의 의무를 이행하려고 하지 않습니다.'
  3. 그 성읍의 장로들이 그를 불러다가 타일러도 굽히지 않고 그를 아내로 맞고 싶지 않다고 하거든
  4. 형수가 장로들 면전에서 그에게 다가서서 그의 발에서 신을 벗기고 얼굴에 침을 뱉으며 욕해 주어라. '제 형의 가문을 이어주지 않는 사람은 이 꼴이 되어라.'
  5. 그 후로 이스라엘 가운데서 그는 '신 벗긴 집안'이라는 별명으로 통할 것이다.
  1. "It shall be that the firstborn whom she bears shall assume the name of his dead brother, so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel.
  2. "But if the man does not desire to take his brother's wife, then his brother's wife shall go up to the gate to the elders and say, 'My husband's brother refuses to establish a name for his brother in Israel; he is not willing to perform the duty of a husband's brother to me.'
  3. "Then the elders of his city shall summon him and speak to him. And if he persists and says, 'I do not desire to take her,'
  4. then his brother's wife shall come to him in the sight of the elders, and pull his sandal off his foot and spit in his face; and she shall declare, 'Thus it is done to the man who does not build up his brother's house.'
  5. "In Israel his name shall be called, 'The house of him whose sandal is removed.'
  1. 두 사람이 맞붙어 싸우는데 한 사람의 아내가 얻어맞는 남편을 도울 셈으로 손을 내밀어 상대편 불알을 잡았을 경우에는
  2. 그 여자의 손을 잘라버려야 한다. 조금도 애처롭게 여기지 마라.
  3. 너희는 주머니에 크고 작은 두 다른 저울추를 가지고 있어서는 안 된다.
  4. 너희 집에 크고 작은 두 다른 되가 있어서도 안 된다.
  5. 너희는 모자라지 않고 틀림없는 저울추만 가져야 하고 모자라지 않고 틀림없는 되만 가져야 한다. 그래야 너희 하느님 야훼께서 너희에게 주실 땅에서 너희가 오래 살 것이다.
  1. "If two men, a man and his countryman, are struggling together, and the wife of one comes near to deliver her husband from the hand of the one who is striking him, and puts out her hand and seizes his genitals,
  2. then you shall cut off her hand; you shall not show pity.
  3. "You shall not have in your bag differing weights, a large and a small.
  4. "You shall not have in your house differing measures, a large and a small.
  5. "You shall have a full and just weight; you shall have a full and just measure, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
  1. 이런 짓을 하는 사람, 이렇게 속임수를 쓰는 사람은 모두 너희 하느님 야훼께서 역겨워하신다.
  2. 너희가 이집트에서 나오는 도중에 아말렉에게 당한 일을 잊지 마라.
  3. 그는 너희가 도중에 지칠 대로 지쳐 있을 때 뒤에 처진 사람들에게 달려들어 하느님 두려운 줄 모르고 쳐죽였었다.
  4. 그러므로 너희 하느님 야훼께서 너희 주변에 있는 원수들을 물리쳐주시어, 너희 하느님 야훼께 유산으로 받을 땅에서 평안을 누리게 되거든 너희는 하늘 아래에서 아말렉을 흔적도 남지 않게 없애버려야 한다. 명심하여라.
  1. "For everyone who does these things, everyone who acts unjustly is an abomination to the LORD your God.
  2. "Remember what Amalek did to you along the way when you came out from Egypt,
  3. how he met you along the way and attacked among you all the stragglers at your rear when you were faint and weary; and he did not fear God.
  4. "Therefore it shall come about when the LORD your God has given you rest from all your surrounding enemies, in the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you must not forget.
 
  맏물을 바치는 신앙 고백(26:1-26:11)    
 
  1. 너희 하느님 야훼께 유산으로 받은 땅에 들어가서 그 땅을 차지하고 자리잡게 되거든
  2. 너희 하느님 야훼께 받은 그 땅에서 너희가 거둔 각종 햇곡식을 떠내어 광주리에 담아가지고 너희 하느님 야훼께서 당신의 이름을 두시려고 고르신 곳으로 가거라.
  3. 너희는 당직 사제에게 가서 이렇게 말하여라. '나는 야훼께서 우리에게 주시겠다고 우리의 선조들에게 맹세하신 대로 이 땅에 들어오게 된 것을 오늘 나의 하느님 야훼께 아룁니다.'
  4. 사제가 그 광주리를 네 손에서 받아 너희 하느님 야훼의 제단 앞에 놓으면
  5. 너희는 너희 하느님 야훼 앞에 아래와 같이 아뢰어야 한다. '제 선조는 떠돌며 사는 아람인이었습니다. 그는 얼마 안 되는 사람을 거느리고 이집트로 내려가서 거기에 몸붙여 살았습니다. 그러나 그는 거기에서 불어나 크고 강대한 민족이 되었습니다.
  1. "Then it shall be, when you enter the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance, and you possess it and live in it,
  2. that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground which you bring in from your land that the LORD your God gives you, and you shall put it in a basket and go to the place where the LORD your God chooses to establish His name.
  3. "You shall go to the priest who is in office at that time and say to him, 'I declare this day to the LORD my God that I have entered the land which the LORD swore to our fathers to give us.'
  4. "Then the priest shall take the basket from your hand and set it down before the altar of the LORD your God.
  5. "You shall answer and say before the LORD your God, 'My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down to Egypt and sojourned there, few in number; but there he became a great, mighty and populous nation.
  1. 그래서 이집트인들은 우리를 억누르고 괴롭혔습니다. 우리를 사정없이 부렸습니다.
  2. 우리가 우리 선조들의 하느님 야훼께 부르짖었더니, 야훼께서는 우리의 아우성을 들으시고 우리가 억눌려 고생하며 착취당하는 것을 굽어살피셨습니다.
  3. 그리고 야훼께서는 억센 손으로 치시며 팔을 뻗으시어 온갖 표적과 기적을 행하심으로써 모두 두려워 떨게 하시고는 우리를 이집트에서 구출해 내셨습니다.
  4. 그리하여 우리를 이 곳으로 데려오시어 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 이 땅을 우리에게 주셨습니다.
  5. 그런즉 야훼여, 주께서 저에게 주신 이 땅의 햇곡식을 이제 제가 이렇게 가져왔습니다.' 그리고는 그것을 너희 하느님 야훼 앞에 놓고 너희 하느님 야훼 앞에 엎드려 예배 드리고
  1. 'And the Egyptians treated us harshly and afflicted us, and imposed hard labor on us.
  2. 'Then we cried to the LORD, the God of our fathers, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our affliction and our toil and our oppression;
  3. and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror and with signs and wonders;
  4. and He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.
  5. 'Now behold, I have brought the first of the produce of the ground which You, O LORD have given me.' And you shall set it down before the LORD your God, and worship before the LORD your God;
  1. 너희 하느님 야훼께서 너희와 너희 집에 주신 온갖 좋은 것을 먹으며 즐겨라. 너희뿐 아니라 너희 가운데 있는 레위인과 떠돌이도 함께 즐기도록 하여라.
  1. and you and the Levite and the alien who is among you shall rejoice in all the good which the LORD your God has given you and your household.
