- 때는 겨울이었다. 예루살렘에서는 봉헌절 축제가 벌어지고 있었다.
- 예수께서는 성전 구내에 있는 솔로몬 행각을 거닐고 계셨는데
- 유다인들이 예수를 둘러싸고 "당신은 얼마나 더 오래 우리의 마음을 조이게 할 작정입니까? 당신이 정말 그리스도라면 그렇다고 분명히 말해 주시오." 하고 말하였다.
- 그러자 예수께서는 "내가 이미 말했는데도 너희는 내 말을 믿지 않는구나. 내가 내 아버지의 이름으로 행하는 일들이 바로 나를 증명해 준다.
- 그러나 너희는 내 양이 아니기 때문에 나를 믿지 않는다.

- At that time the Feast of the Dedication took place at Jerusalem;
- it was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple in the portico of Solomon.
- The Jews then gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, "How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly."
- Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father's name, these testify of Me.
- "But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep.

- 내 양들은 내 목소리를 알아듣는다. 나는 내 양들을 알고 그들은 나를 따라온다.
- 나는 그들에게 영원한 생명을 준다. 그래서 그들은 영원히 죽지 않을 것이고 아무도 그들을 내 손에서 빼앗아가지 못할 것이다.
- 아버지께서 내게 맡겨주신 것은 무엇보다도 소중하다. 아무도 그것을 아버지의 손에서 빼앗아갈 수 없다.
- 아버지와 나는 하나이다." 하고 대답하셨다.
- 이 때에 유다인들은 다시 돌을 집어 예수께 던지려고 하였다.

- "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
- and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
- "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
- "I and the Father are one."
- The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him.

- 그래서 예수께서는 그들에게 "내가 아버지께서 맡겨주신 좋은 일들을 많이 보여주었는데 그 중에서 어떤 것이 못마땅해서 돌을 들어 치려는 것이냐?" 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 유다인들은 "당신이 좋은 일을 했는데 우리가 왜 돌을 들겠소? 당신이 하느님을 모독했으니까 그러는 것이오. 당신은 한갓 사람이면서 하느님 행세를 하고 있지 않소?" 하고 대들었다.
- 예수께서는 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "너희의 율법서를 보면 하느님께서 '내가 너희를 신이라 불렀다.' 하신 기록이 있지 않느냐?
- 이렇게 성서에서는 하느님의 말씀을 받은 사람들을 모두 신이라고 불렀다. 성경 말씀은 영원히 참되시다.
- 아버지께서는 나에게 거룩한 일을 맡겨 세상에 보내주셨다. 너희는 내가 하느님의 아들이라고 한 말 때문에 하느님을 모독한다고 하느냐?

- Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?"
- The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God."
- Jesus answered them, "Has it not been written in your Law, 'I SAID, YOU ARE GODS'?
- "If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),
- do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

- 내가 아버지의 일을 하지 않고 있다면 나를 믿지 않아도 좋다.
- 그러나 내가 그 일을 하고 있으니 나를 믿지 않더라도 내가 하는 일만은 믿어야 할 것이 아니냐? 그러면 너희는 아버지께서 내 안에 계시고 또 내가 아버지 안에 있다는 것을 확실히 알게 될 것이다."
- 그 때에 유다인들이 다시금 예수를 붙잡으려고 했으나 예수께서는 그들의 손에서 벗어나 몸을 피하셨다.
- 예수께서는 다시 요한이 전에 세례를 베풀던 요르단 강 건너편으로 가시어 거기에 머무르셨다.
- 그 때 많은 사람들이 예수께 몰려와서 서로 "요한은 기적을 보여주지 못했지만 그가 이 사람에 관해서 한 말은 모두 사실이었다." 하면서

- "If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;
- but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father."
- Therefore they were seeking again to seize Him, and He eluded their grasp.
- And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was first baptizing, and He was staying there.
- Many came to Him and were saying, "While John performed no sign, yet everything John said about this man was true."

- 많은 사람이 거기에서 예수를 믿게 되었다.

- Many believed in Him there.
