- 미련한 자식을 낳는 사람은 슬픔을 맛본다. 어리석은 자식을 둔 아비는 기쁨을 모른다.
- 마음이 즐거우면 앓던 병도 낫고 속에 걱정이 있으면 뼈도 마른다.

- 미련한 아들은 아비의 근심이 되고 어미의 아픔이 된다.
- 무죄한 사람 벌주는 것은 옳지 않다. 점잖은 사람 때리는 것은 당치 않다.
- 경험이 쌓일수록 말수가 적어지고 슬기를 깨칠수록 감정을 억제한다.
