마가복음 6:14-6:56

 예수님의 명성은 높아만 갔고, 헤롯은 예수님을 자신이 살해한 세례 요한이 다시 살아 돌아온 것이라 생각하며 두려워하였다.
  
  세례 요한의 순교(6:14-6:29)    
 
  1. 예수의 이름이 널리 알려져 마침내 그 소문이 헤로데 왕의 귀에 들어갔다. 어떤 사람들은 "그에게서 그런 기적의 힘이 나타나는 것을 보면 죽은 세례자 요한이 다시 살아난 것이 틀림없다." 하고 말하는가 하면
  2. 더러는 엘리야라고도 하고, 또 더러는 옛 예언자들과 같은 예언자라고도 하였다.
  3. 그러나 예수의 소문을 들은 헤로데 왕은 "바로 요한이다. 내가 목을 벤 요한이 다시 살아난 것이다." 하고 말하였다.
  4. 이 헤로데는 일찍이 사람을 시켜 요한을 잡아 결박하여 옥에 가둔 일이 있었다. 그것은 헤로데가 동생 필립보의 아내 헤로디아와 결혼하였다고 해서
  5. 요한이 헤로데에게 "동생의 아내를 데리고 사는 것은 옳지 않습니다." 하고 누차 간하였기 때문이었다.
  1. And King Herod heard of it, for His name had become well known; and people were saying, "John the Baptist has risen from the dead, and that is why these miraculous powers are at work in Him."
  2. But others were saying, "He is Elijah " And others were saying, "He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of old."
  3. But when Herod heard of it, he kept saying, "John, whom I beheaded, has risen!"
  4. For Herod himself had sent and had John arrested and bound in prison on account of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, because he had married her.
  5. For John had been saying to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife."
  1. 그래서 헤로디아는 요한에게 원한을 품고 그를 죽이려고 하였으나 뜻을 이루지 못하였다.
  2. 그것은 헤로데가 요한을 의롭고 거룩한 사람으로 알고 그를 두려워하여 보호해 주었을 뿐만 아니라 그가 간할 때마다 속으로는 몹시 괴로워하면서도 그것을 기꺼이 들어왔기 때문이다.
  3. 그런데 마침 헤로디아에게 좋은 기회가 왔다. 헤로데 왕이 생일을 맞아 고관들과 무관들과 갈릴래아의 요인들을 청하여 잔치를 베풀었는데
  4. 그 자리에 헤로디아의 딸이 나와서 춤을 추어 헤로데와 그의 손님들을 매우 기쁘게 해주었다. 그러자 왕은 그 소녀에게 "네 소원을 말해 보아라. 무엇이든지 들어주마." 하고는
  5. "네가 청하는 것이면 무엇이든지 주겠다. 내 왕국의 반이라도 주겠다." 하고 맹세하였던 것이다.
  1. Herodias had a grudge against him and wanted to put him to death and could not do so;
  2. for Herod was afraid of John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he kept him safe. And when he heard him, he was very perplexed; but he used to enjoy listening to him.
  3. A strategic day came when Herod on his birthday gave a banquet for his lords and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee;
  4. and when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests; and the king said to the girl, "Ask me for whatever you want and I will give it to you."
  5. And he swore to her, "Whatever you ask of me, I will give it to you; up to half of my kingdom."
  1. 소녀가 나가서 제 어미에게 "무엇을 청할까요?" 하고 의논하자 그 어미는 "세례자 요한의 머리를 달라고 하여라." 하고 시켰다.
  2. 그러자 소녀는 급히 왕에게 돌아와 "지금 곧 세례자 요한의 머리를 쟁반에 담아서 가져다 주십시오." 하고 청하였다.
  3. 왕은 마음이 몹시 괴로웠지만 이미 맹세한 바도 있고 또 손님들이 보는 앞이어서 그 청을 거절할 수가 없었다.
  4. 그래서 왕은 곧 경비병 하나를 보내며 요한의 목을 베어 오라고 명령하였다. 경비병이 감옥으로 가서 요한의 목을 베어
  5. 쟁반에 담아다가 소녀에게 건네자 소녀는 다시 그것을 제 어미에게 가져다 주었다.
  1. And she went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask for?" And she said, "The head of John the Baptist."
  2. Immediately she came in a hurry to the king and asked, saying, "I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter."
  3. And although the king was very sorry, yet because of his oaths and because of his dinner guests, he was unwilling to refuse her.
  4. Immediately the king sent an executioner and commanded him to bring back his head. And he went and had him beheaded in the prison,
  5. and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the girl; and the girl gave it to her mother.
  1. 그 뒤 소식을 들은 요한의 제자들이 와서 그 시체를 거두어다가 장사를 지냈다.
  1. When his disciples heard about this, they came and took away his body and laid it in a tomb.
 
  예수님의 신적 사역(6:30-6:56)    
 
  1. 사도들이 돌아와서 자기들이 한 일과 가르친 것을 예수께 낱낱이 보고하였다.
  2. 예수께서는 제자들에게 "따로 한적한 곳으로 가서 함께 좀 쉬자." 하고 말씀하셨다. 찾아오는 사람이 너무 많아서 그들은 음식을 먹을 겨를조차 없었던 것이다.
  3. 예수의 일행은 배를 타고 따로 한적한 곳을 찾아 떠났다.
  4. 그런데 사람들은 그 일행이 떠나는 것을 보고 그들이 예수의 일행이라는 것을 알고는 여러 동네에서 모두 달려나와 육로로 해서 그들을 앞질러 그 곳에 갔다.
  5. 예수께서 배에서 내려 군중이 많이 모여 있는 것을 보시고 목자 없는 양과 같은 그들을 측은히 여기시어 여러 가지로 가르쳐주셨다.
  1. The apostles gathered together with Jesus; and they reported to Him all that they had done and taught.
  2. And He said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while." (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.)
  3. They went away in the boat to a secluded place by themselves.
  4. The people saw them going, and many recognized them and ran there together on foot from all the cities, and got there ahead of them.
  5. When Jesus went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and He felt compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and He began to teach them many things.
  1. 저녁때가 되자 제자들이 예수께 와서 "여기는 외딴 곳이고 시간도 이미 늦었습니다.
  2. 그러니 군중들을 헤쳐 제각기 음식을 사 먹도록 농가나 근처 마을로 보내는 것이 좋겠습니다." 하고 말하였다.
  3. 예수께서 "너희가 먹을 것을 주어라." 하고 이르시자 제자들은 "그러면 저희가 가서 빵을 이백 데나리온 어치나 사다가 먹이라는 말씀입니까?" 하고 물었다.
  4. 그러자 예수께서는 "지금 가지고 있는 빵이 몇 개나 되는가 가서 알아보아라." 하셨다. 그들이 알아보고 돌아와서 "빵 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리가 있습니다." 하자
  5. 예수께서는 제자들에게 군중을 풀밭에 떼지어 앉게 하라고 이르셨다.
  1. When it was already quite late, His disciples came to Him and said, "This place is desolate and it is already quite late;
  2. send them away so that they may go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat."
  3. But He answered them, "You give them something to eat!" And they said to Him, "Shall we go and spend two hundred denarii on bread and give them something to eat?"
  4. And He said to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go look!" And when they found out, they said, "Five, and two fish."
  5. And He commanded them all to sit down by groups on the green grass.
  1. 군중은 백 명씩 또는 오십 명씩 모여 앉았다.
  2. 예수께서는 빵 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리를 손에 드시고 하늘을 우러러 감사의 기도를 드리신 다음, 빵을 떼어 제자들에게 주시며 군중들에게 나누어주라고 하셨다. 그리고 물고기 두 마리도 모든 사람에게 나누어주셨다.
  3. 사람들은 모두 배불리 먹었다.
  4. 그리고 남은 빵조각과 물고기를 주워 모으니 열두 광주리에 가득 찼으며
  5. 먹은 사람은 남자만도 오천 명이나 되었다.
  1. They sat down in groups of hundreds and of fifties.
  2. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food and broke the loaves and He kept giving them to the disciples to set before them; and He divided up the two fish among them all.
  3. They all ate and were satisfied,
  4. and they picked up twelve full baskets of the broken pieces, and also of the fish.
  5. There were five thousand men who ate the loaves.
  1. 그 뒤에 곧 예수께서는 제자들을 재촉하여 배를 태워 건너편 베싸이다로 먼저 가게 하시고 그 동안에 혼자서 군중을 돌려보내셨다.
  2. 그들을 보내시고 나서 기도하시려고 산으로 올라가셨다.
  3. 날이 저물었을 때에 배는 바다 한가운데 있었고 예수께서는 혼자 육지에 계셨다.
  4. 제자들은 마침 역풍을 만나 배를 젓느라고 몹시 애를 쓰고 있었다. 이것을 보신 예수께서는 물 위를 걸어서 제자들 쪽으로 오시다가 그들 곁을 지나쳐 가시려고 하였다. 그것은 새벽 네시쯤이었다.
  5. 제자들은 예수께서 물 위를 걸어오시는 것을 보고 유령인 줄 알고 비명을 질렀다.
  1. Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side to Bethsaida, while He Himself was sending the crowd away.
  2. After bidding them farewell, He left for the mountain to pray.
  3. When it was evening, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and He was alone on the land.
  4. Seeing them straining at the oars, for the wind was against them, at about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea; and He intended to pass by them.
  5. But when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;
  1. 그를 보고 모두 겁에 질렸던 것이다. 그러자 예수께서 곧 제자들을 향하여 "나다. 겁내지 말고 안심하여라." 하시며
  2. 그들이 탄 배에 오르시자 바람이 그쳤다. 제자들은 너무나 놀라 어찌할 바를 몰랐다.
  3. 그들은 마음이 무디어서 군중에게 빵을 먹이신 기적도 아직 깨닫지 못하였던 것이다.
  4. 그들은 바다를 건너 겐네사렛 땅에 배를 대었다.
  5. 그들이 배에서 내리자 사람들은 곧 예수를 알아보고
  1. for they all saw Him and were terrified. But immediately He spoke with them and said to them, "Take courage; it is I, do not be afraid."
  2. Then He got into the boat with them, and the wind stopped; and they were utterly astonished,
  3. for they had not gained any insight from the incident of the loaves, but their heart was hardened.
  4. When they had crossed over they came to land at Gennesaret, and moored to the shore.
  5. When they got out of the boat, immediately the people recognized Him,
  1. 그 근처 온 지방을 뛰어다니면서 병자들을 요에 눕혀가지고 예수가 계시다는 곳을 찾아 그리로 데려왔다.
  2. 마을이나 도시나 농촌이나 어디든지 예수께서 가시기만 하면 사람들은 병자들을 장터에 데려다 놓고 그 옷자락만이라도 만지게 해달라고 간청하였다. 그리고 손을 댄 사람은 모두 나았다.
  1. and ran about that whole country and began to carry here and there on their pallets those who were sick, to the place they heard He was.
  2. Wherever He entered villages, or cities, or countryside, they were laying the sick in the market places, and imploring Him that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were being cured.
 
  데나리온( 6:37)  로마시대에 쓰이던 은돈. 한 데나리온은 은 약 3.8g에 해당하며, 하루 품삯임
