창세기 25:1-26:22

 아브라함은 175세에 죽어 막벨라 굴에 장사되었다. 리브가는 쌍동이를 낳았는데, 장자 에서는 자신의 장자권을 동생 야곱에게 팥죽 한 그릇에 팔고 말았다. 그랄에 거하는 이삭에게 하나님께서 복을 주셔서 거부가 되게 하셨다. 이를 시기하는 블레셋 사람들과의 마찰을 피하여 이삭은 브엘세바로 장막을 옮겼다.
  
  야곱과 에서의 출생(25:1-25:34)    
 
  1. 아브라함이 후처를 맞이하였으니 그의 이름은 그두라라
  2. 그가 시므란과 욕산과 므단과 미디안과 이스박과 수아를 낳고
  3. 욕산은 스바와 드단을 낳았으며 드단의 자손은 앗수르 족속과 르두시 족속과 르움미 족속이며
  4. 미디안의 아들은 에바와 에벨과 하녹과 아비다와 엘다아이니 다 그두라의 자손이었더라
  5. 아브라함이 이삭에게 자기의 모든 소유를 주었고
  1. Abraham took another wife, whose name was Keturah.
  2. She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah.
  3. Jokshan was the father of Sheba and Dedan; the descendants of Dedan were the Asshurites, the Letushites and the Leummites.
  4. The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida and Eldaah. All these were descendants of Keturah.
  5. Abraham left everything he owned to Isaac.
  1. 자기 서자들에게도 재산을 주어 자기 생전에 그들로 하여금 자기 아들 이삭을 떠나 동방 곧 동쪽 땅으로 가게 하였더라
  2. 아브라함의 향년이 백칠십오 세라
  3. 그의 나이가 높고 늙어서 기운이 다하여 죽어 자기 열조에게로 돌아가매
  4. 그의 아들들인 이삭과 이스마엘이 그를 마므레 앞 헷 족속 소할의 아들 에브론의 밭에 있는 막벨라 굴에 장사하였으니
  5. 이것은 아브라함이 헷 족속에게서 산 밭이라 아브라함과 그의 아내 사라가 거기 장사되니라
  1. But while he was still living, he gave gifts to the sons of his concubines and sent them away from his son Isaac to the land of the east.
  2. Altogether, Abraham lived a hundred and seventy-five years.
  3. Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years; and he was gathered to his people.
  4. His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah near Mamre, in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite,
  5. the field Abraham had bought from the Hittites. There Abraham was buried with his wife Sarah.
  1. 아브라함이 죽은 후에 하나님이 그의 아들 이삭에게 복을 주셨고 이삭은 브엘라해로이 근처에 거주하였더라
  2. 사라의 여종 애굽인 하갈이 아브라함에게 낳은 아들 이스마엘의 족보는 이러하고
  3. 이스마엘의 아들들의 이름은 그 이름과 그 세대대로 이와 같으니라 이스마엘의 장자는 느바욧이요 그 다음은 게달과 앗브엘과 밉삼과
  4. 미스마와 두마와 맛사와
  5. 하닷과 데마와 여둘과 나비스와 게드마니
  1. After Abraham's death, God blessed his son Isaac, who then lived near Beer Lahai Roi.
  2. This is the account of Abraham's son Ishmael, whom Sarah's maidservant, Hagar the Egyptian, bore to Abraham.
  3. These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, listed in the order of their birth: Nebaioth the firstborn of Ishmael, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
  4. Mishma, Dumah, Massa,
  5. Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah.
  1. 이들은 이스마엘의 아들들이요 그 촌과 부락대로 된 이름이며 그 족속대로는 열두 지도자들이었더라
  2. 이스마엘은 향년이 백삼십칠 세에 기운이 다하여 죽어 자기 백성에게로 돌아갔고
  3. 그 자손들은 하윌라에서부터 앗수르로 통하는 애굽 앞 술까지 이르러 그 모든 형제의 맞은편에 거주하였더라
  4. 아브라함의 아들 이삭의 족보는 이러하니라 아브라함이 이삭을 낳았고
  5. 이삭은 사십 세에 리브가를 맞이하여 아내를 삼았으니 리브가는 밧단 아람의 아람 족속 중 브두엘의 딸이요 아람 족속 중 라반의 누이였더라
  1. These were the sons of Ishmael, and these are the names of the twelve tribal rulers according to their settlements and camps.
  2. Altogether, Ishmael lived a hundred and thirty-seven years. He breathed his last and died, and he was gathered to his people.
  3. His descendants settled in the area from Havilah to Shur, near the border of Egypt, as you go toward Asshur. And they lived in hostility toward all their brothers.
  4. This is the account of Abraham's son Isaac. Abraham became the father of Isaac,
  5. and Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan Aram and sister of Laban the Aramean.
  1. 이삭이 그의 아내가 임신하지 못하므로 그를 위하여 여호와께 간구하매 여호와께서 그의 간구를 들으셨으므로 그의 아내 리브가가 임신하였더니
  2. 그 아들들이 그의 태 속에서 서로 싸우는지라 그가 이르되 이럴 경우에는 내가 어찌할꼬 하고 가서 여호와께 묻자온대
  3. 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 두 국민이 네 태중에 있구나 두 민족이 네 복중에서부터 나누이리라 이 족속이 저 족속보다 강하겠고 큰 자가 어린 자를 섬기리라 하셨더라
  4. 그 해산 기한이 찬즉 태에 쌍둥이가 있었는데
  5. 먼저 나온 자는 붉고 전신이 털옷 같아서 이름을 에서라 하였고
  1. Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. The LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.
  2. The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, "Why is this happening to me?" So she went to inquire of the LORD.
  3. The LORD said to her, "Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger."
  4. When the time came for her to give birth, there were twin boys in her womb.
  5. The first to come out was red, and his whole body was like a hairy garment; so they named him Esau.
  1. 후에 나온 아우는 손으로 에서의 발꿈치를 잡았으므로 그 이름을 야곱이라 하였으며 리브가가 그들을 낳을 때에 이삭이 육십 세였더라
  2. 그 아이들이 장성하매 에서는 익숙한 사냥꾼이었으므로 들사람이 되고 야곱은 조용한 사람이었으므로 장막에 거주하니
  3. 이삭은 에서가 사냥한 고기를 좋아하므로 그를 사랑하고 리브가는 야곱을 사랑하였더라
  4. 야곱이 죽을 쑤었더니 에서가 들에서 돌아와서 심히 피곤하여
  5. 야곱에게 이르되 내가 피곤하니 그 붉은 것을 내가 먹게 하라 한지라 그러므로 에서의 별명은 에돔이더라
  1. After this, his brother came out, with his hand grasping Esau's heel; so he was named Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when Rebekah gave birth to them.
  2. The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was a quiet man, staying among the tents.
  3. Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob.
  4. Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished.
  5. He said to Jacob, "Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I'm famished!" (That is why he was also called Edom. )
  1. 야곱이 이르되 형의 장자의 명분을 오늘 내게 팔라
  2. 에서가 이르되 내가 죽게 되었으니 이 장자의 명분이 내게 무엇이 유익하리요
  3. 야곱이 이르되 오늘 내게 맹세하라 에서가 맹세하고 장자의 명분을 야곱에게 판지라
  4. 야곱이 떡과 팥죽을 에서에게 주매 에서가 먹으며 마시고 일어나 갔으니 에서가 장자의 명분을 가볍게 여김이었더라
  1. Jacob replied, "First sell me your birthright."
  2. "Look, I am about to die," Esau said. "What good is the birthright to me?"
  3. But Jacob said, "Swear to me first." So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob.
  4. Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.
 
  이삭과 아비멜렉(26:1-26:22)    
 
  1. 아브라함 때에 첫 흉년이 들었더니 그 땅에 또 흉년이 들매 이삭이 그랄로 가서 블레셋 왕 아비멜렉에게 이르렀더니
  2. 여호와께서 이삭에게 나타나 이르시되 애굽으로 내려가지 말고 내가 네게 지시하는 땅에 거주하라
  3. 이 땅에 거류하면 내가 너와 함께 있어 네게 복을 주고 내가 이 모든 땅을 너와 네 자손에게 주리라 내가 네 아버지 아브라함에게 맹세한 것을 이루어
  4. 네 자손을 하늘의 별과 같이 번성하게 하며 이 모든 땅을 네 자손에게 주리니 네 자손으로 말미암아 천하 만민이 복을 받으리라
  5. 이는 아브라함이 내 말을 순종하고 내 명령과 내 계명과 내 율례와 내 법도를 지켰음이라 하시니라
  1. Now there was a famine in the land--besides the earlier famine of Abraham's time--and Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar.
  2. The LORD appeared to Isaac and said, "Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live.
  3. Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham.
  4. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed,
  5. because Abraham obeyed me and kept my requirements, my commands, my decrees and my laws."
  1. 이삭이 그랄에 거주하였더니
  2. 그 곳 사람들이 그의 아내에 대하여 물으매 그가 말하기를 그는 내 누이라 하였으니 리브가는 보기에 아리따우므로 그 곳 백성이 리브가로 말미암아 자기를 죽일까 하여 그는 내 아내라 하기를 두려워함이었더라
  3. 이삭이 거기 오래 거주하였더니 이삭이 그 아내 리브가를 껴안은 것을 블레셋 왕 아비멜렉이 창으로 내다본지라
  4. 이에 아비멜렉이 이삭을 불러 이르되 그가 분명히 네 아내거늘 어찌 네 누이라 하였느냐 이삭이 그에게 대답하되 내 생각에 그로 말미암아 내가 죽게 될까 두려워하였음이로라
  5. 아비멜렉이 이르되 네가 어찌 우리에게 이렇게 행하였느냐 백성 중 하나가 네 아내와 동침할 뻔하였도다 네가 죄를 우리에게 입혔으리라
  1. So Isaac stayed in Gerar.
  2. When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, "She is my sister," because he was afraid to say, "She is my wife." He thought, "The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful."
  3. When Isaac had been there a long time, Abimelech king of the Philistines looked down from a window and saw Isaac caressing his wife Rebekah.
  4. So Abimelech summoned Isaac and said, "She is really your wife! Why did you say, 'She is my sister'?" Isaac answered him, "Because I thought I might lose my life on account of her."
  5. Then Abimelech said, "What is this you have done to us? One of the men might well have slept with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us."
  1. 아비멜렉이 이에 모든 백성에게 명하여 이르되 이 사람이나 그의 아내를 범하는 자는 죽이리라 하였더라
  2. 이삭이 그 땅에서 농사하여 그 해에 백 배나 얻었고 여호와께서 복을 주시므로
  3. 그 사람이 창대하고 왕성하여 마침내 거부가 되어
  4. 양과 소가 떼를 이루고 종이 심히 많으므로 블레셋 사람이 그를 시기하여
  5. 그 아버지 아브라함 때에 그 아버지의 종들이 판 모든 우물을 막고 흙으로 메웠더라
  1. So Abimelech gave orders to all the people: "Anyone who molests this man or his wife shall surely be put to death."
  2. Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him.
  3. The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy.
  4. He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him.
  5. So all the wells that his father's servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth.
  1. 아비멜렉이 이삭에게 이르되 네가 우리보다 크게 강성한즉 우리를 떠나라
  2. 이삭이 그 곳을 떠나 그랄 골짜기에 장막을 치고 거기 거류하며
  3. 그 아버지 아브라함 때에 팠던 우물들을 다시 팠으니 이는 아브라함이 죽은 후에 블레셋 사람이 그 우물들을 메웠음이라 이삭이 그 우물들의 이름을 그의 아버지가 부르던 이름으로 불렀더라
  4. 이삭의 종들이 골짜기를 파서 샘 근원을 얻었더니
  5. 그랄 목자들이 이삭의 목자와 다투어 이르되 이 물은 우리의 것이라 하매 이삭이 그 다툼으로 말미암아 그 우물 이름을 에섹이라 하였으며
  1. Then Abimelech said to Isaac, "Move away from us; you have become too powerful for us."
  2. So Isaac moved away from there and encamped in the Valley of Gerar and settled there.
  3. Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died, and he gave them the same names his father had given them.
  4. Isaac's servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there.
  5. But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac's herdsmen and said, "The water is ours!" So he named the well Esek, because they disputed with him.
  1. 또 다른 우물을 팠더니 그들이 또 다투므로 그 이름을 싯나라 하였으며
  2. 이삭이 거기서 옮겨 다른 우물을 팠더니 그들이 다투지 아니하였으므로 그 이름을 르호봇이라 하여 이르되 이제는 여호와께서 우리를 위하여 넓게 하셨으니 이 땅에서 우리가 번성하리로다 하였더라
  1. Then they dug another well, but they quarreled over that one also; so he named it Sitnah.
  2. He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, "Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land."
