사사기 17:1-18:31

 미가는 어머니의 은으로 우상을 만들고, 거할 곳을 찾던 레위인을 고용하여 제사장으로 삼았다. 기업을 구하던 단 지파는 정탐꾼을 보내 라이스를 정탐하게 했다. 단 자손들은 미가의 집에서 우상과 레위 소년을 강탈한 뒤, 라이스를 점령하고 그 곳에 거주하면서 우상을 섬겼다.
  
  미가의 우상(17:1-17:13)    
 
  1. 에브라임 산지에 미가라 이름하는 사람이 있더니
  2. 그의 어머니에게 이르되 어머니께서 은 천백을 잃어버리셨으므로 저주하시고 내 귀에도 말씀하셨더니 보소서 그 은이 내게 있나이다 내가 그것을 가졌나이다 하니 그의 어머니가 이르되 내 아들이 여호와께 복 받기를 원하노라 하니라
  3. 미가가 은 천백을 그의 어머니에게 도로 주매 그의 어머니가 이르되 내가 내 아들을 위하여 한 신상을 새기며 한 신상을 부어 만들기 위해 내 손에서 이 은을 여호와께 거룩히 드리노라 그러므로 내가 이제 이 은을 네게 도로 주리라
  4. 미가가 그 은을 그의 어머니에게 도로 주었으므로 어머니가 그 은 이백을 가져다 은장색에게 주어 한 신상을 새기고 한 신상을 부어 만들었더니 그 신상이 미가의 집에 있더라
  5. 그 사람 미가에게 신당이 있으므로 그가 에봇과 드라빔을 만들고 한 아들을 세워 그의 제사장으로 삼았더라
  1. Now a man named Micah from the hill country of Ephraim
  2. said to his mother, "The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from you and about which I heard you utter a curse--I have that silver with me; I took it." Then his mother said, "The LORD bless you, my son!"
  3. When he returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, she said, "I solemnly consecrate my silver to the LORD for my son to make a carved image and a cast idol. I will give it back to you."
  4. So he returned the silver to his mother, and she took two hundred shekels of silver and gave them to a silversmith, who made them into the image and the idol. And they were put in Micah's house.
  5. Now this man Micah had a shrine, and he made an ephod and some idols and installed one of his sons as his priest.
  1. 그 때에는 이스라엘에 왕이 없었으므로 사람마다 자기 소견에 옳은 대로 행하였더라
  2. 유다 가족에 속한 유다 베들레헴에 한 청년이 있었으니 그는 레위인으로서 거기서 거류하였더라
  3. 그 사람이 거주할 곳을 찾고자 하여 그 성읍 유다 베들레헴을 떠나 가다가 에브라임 산지로 가서 미가의 집에 이르매
  4. 미가가 그에게 묻되 너는 어디서부터 오느냐 하니 그가 이르되 나는 유다 베들레헴의 레위인으로서 거류할 곳을 찾으러 가노라 하는지라
  5. 미가가 그에게 이르되 네가 나와 함께 거주하며 나를 위하여 아버지와 제사장이 되라 내가 해마다 은 열과 의복 한 벌과 먹을 것을 주리라 하므로 그 레위인이 들어갔더라
  1. In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.
  2. A young Levite from Bethlehem in Judah, who had been living within the clan of Judah,
  3. left that town in search of some other place to stay. On his way he came to Micah's house in the hill country of Ephraim.
  4. Micah asked him, "Where are you from?" "I'm a Levite from Bethlehem in Judah," he said, "and I'm looking for a place to stay."
  5. Then Micah said to him, "Live with me and be my father and priest, and I'll give you ten shekels of silver a year, your clothes and your food."
  1. 그 레위인이 그 사람과 함께 거주하기를 만족하게 생각했으니 이는 그 청년이 미가의 아들 중 하나 같이 됨이라
  2. 미가가 그 레위인을 거룩하게 구별하매 그 청년이 미가의 제사장이 되어 그 집에 있었더라
  3. 이에 미가가 이르되 레위인이 내 제사장이 되었으니 이제 여호와께서 내게 복 주실 줄을 아노라 하니라
  1. So the Levite agreed to live with him, and the young man was to him like one of his sons.
  2. Then Micah installed the Levite, and the young man became his priest and lived in his house.
  3. And Micah said, "Now I know that the LORD will be good to me, since this Levite has become my priest."
 
  단 지파의 이주(18:1-18:31)    
 
  1. 그 때에 이스라엘에 왕이 없었고 단 지파는 그 때에 거주할 기업의 땅을 구하는 중이었으니 이는 그들이 이스라엘 지파 중에서 그 때까지 기업을 분배 받지 못하였음이라
  2. 단 자손이 소라와 에스다올에서부터 그들의 가족 가운데 용맹스런 다섯 사람을 보내어 땅을 정탐하고 살피게 하며 그들에게 이르되 너희는 가서 땅을 살펴보라 하매 그들이 에브라임 산지에 가서 미가의 집에 이르러 거기서 유숙하니라
  3. 그들이 미가의 집에 있을 때에 그 레위 청년의 음성을 알아듣고 그리로 돌아가서 그에게 이르되 누가 너를 이리로 인도하였으며 네가 여기서 무엇을 하며 여기서 무엇을 얻었느냐 하니
  4. 그가 그들에게 이르되 미가가 이러이러하게 나를 대접하고 나를 고용하여 나를 자기의 제사장으로 삼았느니라 하니라
  5. 그들이 그에게 이르되 청하건대 우리를 위하여 하나님께 물어 보아서 우리가 가는 길이 형통할는지 우리에게 알게 하라 하니
  1. In those days Israel had no king. And in those days the tribe of the Danites was seeking a place of their own where they might settle, because they had not yet come into an inheritance among the tribes of Israel.
  2. So the Danites sent five warriors from Zorah and Eshtaol to spy out the land and explore it. These men represented all their clans. They told them, "Go, explore the land." The men entered the hill country of Ephraim and came to the house of Micah, where they spent the night.
  3. When they were near Micah's house, they recognized the voice of the young Levite; so they turned in there and asked him, "Who brought you here? What are you doing in this place? Why are you here?"
  4. He told them what Micah had done for him, and said, "He has hired me and I am his priest."
  5. Then they said to him, "Please inquire of God to learn whether our journey will be successful."
  1. 그 제사장이 그들에게 이르되 평안히 가라 너희가 가는 길은 여호와 앞에 있느니라 하니라
  2. 이에 다섯 사람이 떠나 라이스에 이르러 거기 있는 백성을 본즉 염려 없이 거주하며 시돈 사람들이 사는 것처럼 평온하며 안전하니 그 땅에는 부족한 것이 없으며 부를 누리며 시돈 사람들과 거리가 멀고 어떤 사람과도 상종하지 아니함이라
  3. 그들이 소라와 에스다올에 돌아가서 그들의 형제들에게 이르매 형제들이 그들에게 묻되 너희가 보기에 어떠하더냐 하니
  4. 이르되 일어나 그들을 치러 올라가자 우리가 그 땅을 본즉 매우 좋더라 너희는 가만히 있느냐 나아가서 그 땅 얻기를 게을리 하지 말라
  5. 너희가 가면 평화로운 백성을 만날 것이요 그 땅은 넓고 그 곳에는 세상에 있는 것이 하나도 부족함이 없느니라 하나님이 그 땅을 너희 손에 넘겨 주셨느니라 하는지라
  1. The priest answered them, "Go in peace. Your journey has the LORD's approval."
  2. So the five men left and came to Laish, where they saw that the people were living in safety, like the Sidonians, unsuspecting and secure. And since their land lacked nothing, they were prosperous. Also, they lived a long way from the Sidonians and had no relationship with anyone else.
  3. When they returned to Zorah and Eshtaol, their brothers asked them, "How did you find things?"
  4. They answered, "Come on, let's attack them! We have seen that the land is very good. Aren't you going to do something? Don't hesitate to go there and take it over.
  5. When you get there, you will find an unsuspecting people and a spacious land that God has put into your hands, a land that lacks nothing whatever."
  1. 단 지파의 가족 중 육백 명이 무기를 지니고 소라와 에스다올에서 출발하여
  2. 올라가서 유다에 있는 기럇여아림에 진 치니 그러므로 그 곳 이름이 오늘까지 마하네 단이며 그 곳은 기럇여아림 뒤에 있더라
  3. 무리가 거기서 떠나 에브라임 산지 미가의 집에 이르니라
  4. 전에 라이스 땅을 정탐하러 갔던 다섯 사람이 그 형제들에게 말하여 이르되 이 집에 에봇과 드라빔과 새긴 신상과 부어 만든 신상이 있는 줄을 너희가 아느냐 그런즉 이제 너희는 마땅히 행할 것을 생각하라 하고
  5. 다섯 사람이 그 쪽으로 향하여 그 청년 레위 사람의 집 곧 미가의 집에 이르러 그에게 문안하고
  1. Then six hundred men from the clan of the Danites, armed for battle, set out from Zorah and Eshtaol.
  2. On their way they set up camp near Kiriath Jearim in Judah. This is why the place west of Kiriath Jearim is called Mahaneh Dan to this day.
  3. From there they went on to the hill country of Ephraim and came to Micah's house.
  4. Then the five men who had spied out the land of Laish said to their brothers, "Do you know that one of these houses has an ephod, other household gods, a carved image and a cast idol? Now you know what to do."
  5. So they turned in there and went to the house of the young Levite at Micah's place and greeted him.
  1. 단 자손 육백 명은 무기를 지니고 문 입구에 서니라
  2. 그 땅을 정탐하러 갔던 다섯 사람이 그리로 들어가서 새긴 신상과 에봇과 드라빔과 부어 만든 신상을 가져갈 때에 그 제사장은 무기를 지닌 육백 명과 함께 문 입구에 섰더니
  3. 그 다섯 사람이 미가의 집에 들어가서 그 새긴 신상과 에봇과 드라빔과 부어 만든 신상을 가지고 나오매 그 제사장이 그들에게 묻되 너희가 무엇을 하느냐 하니
  4. 그들이 그에게 이르되 잠잠하라 네 손을 입에 대라 우리와 함께 가서 우리의 아버지와 제사장이 되라 네가 한 사람의 집의 제사장이 되는 것과 이스라엘의 한 지파 한 족속의 제사장이 되는 것 중에서 어느 것이 낫겠느냐 하는지라
  5. 그 제사장이 마음에 기뻐하여 에봇과 드라빔과 새긴 우상을 받아 가지고 그 백성 가운데로 들어가니라
  1. The six hundred Danites, armed for battle, stood at the entrance to the gate.
  2. The five men who had spied out the land went inside and took the carved image, the ephod, the other household gods and the cast idol while the priest and the six hundred armed men stood at the entrance to the gate.
  3. When these men went into Micah's house and took the carved image, the ephod, the other household gods and the cast idol, the priest said to them, "What are you doing?"
  4. They answered him, "Be quiet! Don't say a word. Come with us, and be our father and priest. Isn't it better that you serve a tribe and clan in Israel as priest rather than just one man's household?"
  5. Then the priest was glad. He took the ephod, the other household gods and the carved image and went along with the people.
  1. 그들이 돌이켜서 어린 아이들과 가축과 값진 물건들을 앞세우고 길을 떠나더니
  2. 그들이 미가의 집을 멀리 떠난 때에 미가의 이웃집 사람들이 모여서 단 자손을 따라 붙어서
  3. 단 자손을 부르는지라 그들이 얼굴을 돌려 미가에게 이르되 네가 무슨 일로 이같이 모아 가지고 왔느냐 하니
  4. 미가가 이르되 내가 만든 신들과 제사장을 빼앗아 갔으니 이제 내게 오히려 남은 것이 무엇이냐 너희가 어찌하여 나더러 무슨 일이냐고 하느냐 하는지라
  5. 단 자손이 그에게 이르되 네 목소리를 우리에게 들리게 하지 말라 노한 자들이 너희를 쳐서 네 생명과 네 가족의 생명을 잃게 할까 하노라 하고
  1. Putting their little children, their livestock and their possessions in front of them, they turned away and left.
  2. When they had gone some distance from Micah's house, the men who lived near Micah were called together and overtook the Danites.
  3. As they shouted after them, the Danites turned and said to Micah, "What's the matter with you that you called out your men to fight?"
  4. He replied, "You took the gods I made, and my priest, and went away. What else do I have? How can you ask, 'What's the matter with you?' "
  5. The Danites answered, "Don't argue with us, or some hot-tempered men will attack you, and you and your family will lose your lives."
  1. 단 자손이 자기 길을 간지라 미가가 단 자손이 자기보다 강한 것을 보고 돌이켜 집으로 돌아갔더라
  2. 단 자손이 미가가 만든 것과 그 제사장을 취하여 라이스에 이르러 한가하고 걱정 없이 사는 백성을 만나 칼날로 그들을 치며 그 성읍을 불사르되
  3. 그들을 구원할 자가 없었으니 그 성읍이 베드르홉 가까운 골짜기에 있어서 시돈과 거리가 멀고 상종하는 사람도 없음이었더라 단 자손이 성읍을 세우고 거기 거주하면서
  4. 이스라엘에게서 태어난 그들의 조상 단의 이름을 따라 그 성읍을 단이라 하니라 그 성읍의 본 이름은 라이스였더라
  5. 단 자손이 자기들을 위하여 그 새긴 신상을 세웠고 모세의 손자요 게르솜의 아들인 요나단과 그의 자손은 단 지파의 제사장이 되어 그 땅 백성이 사로잡히는 날까지 이르렀더라
  1. So the Danites went their way, and Micah, seeing that they were too strong for him, turned around and went back home.
  2. Then they took what Micah had made, and his priest, and went on to Laish, against a peaceful and unsuspecting people. They attacked them with the sword and burned down their city.
  3. There was no one to rescue them because they lived a long way from Sidon and had no relationship with anyone else. The city was in a valley near Beth Rehob. The Danites rebuilt the city and settled there.
  4. They named it Dan after their forefather Dan, who was born to Israel--though the city used to be called Laish.
  5. There the Danites set up for themselves the idols, and Jonathan son of Gershom, the son of Moses, and his sons were priests for the tribe of Dan until the time of the captivity of the land.
  1. 하나님의 집이 실로에 있을 동안에 미가가 만든 바 새긴 신상이 단 자손에게 있었더라
  1. They continued to use the idols Micah had made, all the time the house of God was in Shiloh.
