- 거만한 자는 지혜를 구하여도 얻지 못하거니와 명철한 자는 지식 얻기가 쉬우니라
- 너는 미련한 자의 앞을 떠나라 그 입술에 지식 있음을 보지 못함이니라
- 슬기로운 자의 지혜는 자기의 길을 아는 것이라도 미련한 자의 어리석음은 속이는 것이니라
- 미련한 자는 죄를 심상히 여겨도 정직한 자 중에는 은혜가 있느니라
- 마음의 고통은 자기가 알고 마음의 즐거움은 타인이 참여하지 못하느니라

- A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
- Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
- The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
- Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
- The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.
