야고보서 1:19-2:13

 야고보는 말을 삼가할 것과 하나님의 말씀을 듣는 자가 실천해야 할 것을 권면하면서, 행동의 구체적인 내용으로 과부와 고아를 구제하고 모든 사람을 차별 없이 대할 것을 가르쳤다.
  
  말씀을 행하는 자(1:19-1:27)    
 
  1. 내 사랑하는 형제들아 너희가 알지니 사람마다 듣기는 속히 하고 말하기는 더디 하며 성내기도 더디 하라
  2. 사람이 성내는 것이 하나님의 의를 이루지 못함이라
  3. 그러므로 모든 더러운 것과 넘치는 악을 내버리고 너희 영혼을 능히 구원할 바 마음에 심어진 말씀을 온유함으로 받으라
  4. 너희는 말씀을 행하는 자가 되고 듣기만 하여 자신을 속이는 자가 되지 말라
  5. 누구든지 말씀을 듣고 행하지 아니하면 그는 거울로 자기의 생긴 얼굴을 보는 사람과 같아서
  1. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
  2. For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
  3. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
  4. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
  5. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
  1. 제 자신을 보고 가서 그 모습이 어떠했는지를 곧 잊어버리거니와
  2. 자유롭게 하는 온전한 율법을 들여다보고 있는 자는 듣고 잊어버리는 자가 아니요 실천하는 자니 이 사람은 그 행하는 일에 복을 받으리라
  3. 누구든지 스스로 경건하다 생각하며 자기 혀를 재갈 물리지 아니하고 자기 마음을 속이면 이 사람의 경건은 헛것이라
  4. 하나님 아버지 앞에서 정결하고 더러움이 없는 경건은 곧 고아와 과부를 그 환난중에 돌보고 또 자기를 지켜 세속에 물들지 아니하는 그것이니라
  1. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
  2. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
  3. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
  4. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
 
  형제에 대한 바른 태도(2:1-2:13)    
 
  1. 내 형제들아 영광의 주 곧 우리 주 예수 그리스도에 대한 믿음을 너희가 가졌으니 사람을 차별하여 대하지 말라
  2. 만일 너희 회당에 금 가락지를 끼고 아름다운 옷을 입은 사람이 들어오고 또 남루한 옷을 입은 가난한 사람이 들어올 때에
  3. 너희가 아름다운 옷을 입은 자를 눈여겨 보고 말하되 여기 좋은 자리에 앉으소서 하고 또 가난한 자에게 말하되 너는 거기 서 있든지 내 발등상 아래에 앉으라 하면
  4. 너희끼리 서로 차별하며 악한 생각으로 판단하는 자가 되는 것이 아니냐
  5. 내 사랑하는 형제들아 들을지어다 하나님이 세상에서 가난한 자를 택하사 믿음에 부요하게 하시고 또 자기를 사랑하는 자들에게 약속하신 나라를 상속으로 받게 하지 아니하셨느냐
  1. My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
  2. For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
  3. And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
  4. Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
  5. Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
  1. 너희는 도리어 가난한 자를 업신여겼도다 부자는 너희를 억압하며 법정으로 끌고 가지 아니하느냐
  2. 그들은 너희에게 대하여 일컫는 바 그 아름다운 이름을 비방하지 아니하느냐
  3. 너희가 만일 성경에 기록된 대로 네 이웃 사랑하기를 네 몸과 같이 하라 하신 최고의 법을 지키면 잘하는 것이거니와
  4. 만일 너희가 사람을 차별하여 대하면 죄를 짓는 것이니 율법이 너희를 범법자로 정죄하리라
  5. 누구든지 온 율법을 지키다가 그 하나를 범하면 모두 범한 자가 되나니
  1. But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
  2. Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
  3. If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
  4. But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
  5. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
  1. 간음하지 말라 하신 이가 또한 살인하지 말라 하셨은즉 네가 비록 간음하지 아니하여도 살인하면 율법을 범한 자가 되느니라
  2. 너희는 자유의 율법대로 심판 받을 자처럼 말도 하고 행하기도 하라
  3. 긍휼을 행하지 아니하는 자에게는 긍휼 없는 심판이 있으리라 긍휼은 심판을 이기고 자랑하느니라
  1. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
  2. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
  3. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
