- 너는 꿀을 보거든 족하리만큼 먹으라 과식함으로 토할까 두려우니라
- 너는 이웃집에 자주 다니지 말라 그가 너를 싫어하며 미워할까 두려우니라
- 자기의 이웃을 쳐서 거짓 증거하는 사람은 방망이요 칼이요 뾰족한 화살이니라
- 환난 날에 진실하지 못한 자를 의뢰하는 것은 부러진 이와 위골된 발 같으니라
- 마음이 상한 자에게 노래하는 것은 추운 날에 옷을 벗음 같고 소다 위에 식초를 부음 같으니라

- Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.
- Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.
- A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.
- Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.
- As he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar upon nitre, so is he that singeth songs to an heavy heart.
