- 가난하여도 성실하게 행하는 자는 부유하면서 굽게 행하는 자보다 나으니라
- 율법을 지키는 자는 지혜로운 아들이요 음식을 탐하는 자와 사귀는 자는 아비를 욕되게 하는 자니라
- 중한 변리로 자기 재산을 늘이는 것은 가난한 사람을 불쌍히 여기는 자를 위해 그 재산을 저축하는 것이니라
- 사람이 귀를 돌려 율법을 듣지 아니하면 그의 기도도 가증하니라

- Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
- Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.
- He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
- He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
