사도행전 21:17-21:36

 예루살렘에 도착한 바울은 유대인들의 모함으로 몰매를 맞고 죽음의 위기에 놓였을 때 로마 군대 천부장에게 체포됨으로써 성난 군중들로부터 구출되었다.
  
  예루살렘으로 귀환(21:17-21:26)    
 
  1. 예루살렘에 이르니 형제들이 우리를 기꺼이 영접하거늘
  2. 그 이튿날 바울이 우리와 함께 야고보에게로 들어가니 장로들도 다 있더라
  3. 바울이 문안하고 하나님이 자기의 사역으로 말미암아 이방 가운데서 하신 일을 낱낱이 말하니
  4. 그들이 듣고 하나님께 영광을 돌리고 바울더러 이르되 형제여 그대도 보는 바에 유대인 중에 믿는 자 수만 명이 있으니 다 율법에 열성을 가진 자라
  5. 네가 이방에 있는 모든 유대인을 가르치되 모세를 배반하고 아들들에게 할례를 행하지 말고 또 관습을 지키지 말라 한다 함을 그들이 들었도다
  1. After we arrived in Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
  2. And the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present.
  3. After he had greeted them, he began to relate one by one the things which God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
  4. And when they heard it they began glorifying God; and they said to him, "You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed, and they are all zealous for the Law;
  5. and they have been told about you, that you are teaching all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs.
  1. 그러면 어찌할꼬 그들이 필연 그대가 온 것을 들으리니
  2. 우리가 말하는 이대로 하라 서원한 네 사람이 우리에게 있으니
  3. 그들을 데리고 함께 결례를 행하고 그들을 위하여 비용을 내어 머리를 깎게 하라 그러면 모든 사람이 그대에 대하여 들은 것이 사실이 아니고 그대도 율법을 지켜 행하는 줄로 알 것이라
  4. 주를 믿는 이방인에게는 우리가 우상의 제물과 피와 목매어 죽인 것과 음행을 피할 것을 결의하고 편지하였느니라 하니
  5. 바울이 이 사람들을 데리고 이튿날 그들과 함께 결례를 행하고 성전에 들어가서 각 사람을 위하여 제사 드릴 때까지의 결례 기간이 만기된 것을 신고하니라
  1. "What, then, is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come.
  2. "Therefore do this that we tell you. We have four men who are under a vow;
  3. take them and purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads; and all will know that there is nothing to the things which they have been told about you, but that you yourself also walk orderly, keeping the Law.
  4. "But concerning the Gentiles who have believed, we wrote, having decided that they should abstain from meat sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from fornication."
  5. Then Paul took the men, and the next day, purifying himself along with them, went into the temple giving notice of the completion of the days of purification, until the sacrifice was offered for each one of them.
 
  바울의 체포(21:27-21:36)    
 
  1. 그 이레가 거의 차매 아시아로부터 온 유대인들이 성전에서 바울을 보고 모든 무리를 충동하여 그를 붙들고
  2. 외치되 이스라엘 사람들아 도우라 이 사람은 각처에서 우리 백성과 율법과 이 곳을 비방하여 모든 사람을 가르치는 그 자인데 또 헬라인을 데리고 성전에 들어가서 이 거룩한 곳을 더럽혔다 하니
  3. 이는 그들이 전에 에베소 사람 드로비모가 바울과 함께 시내에 있음을 보고 바울이 그를 성전에 데리고 들어간 줄로 생각함이러라
  4. 온 성이 소동하여 백성이 달려와 모여 바울을 잡아 성전 밖으로 끌고 나가니 문들이 곧 닫히더라
  5. 그들이 그를 죽이려 할 때에 온 예루살렘이 요란하다는 소문이 군대의 천부장에게 들리매
  1. When the seven days were almost over, the Jews from Asia, upon seeing him in the temple, began to stir up all the crowd and laid hands on him,
  2. crying out, "Men of Israel, come to our aid! This is the man who preaches to all men everywhere against our people and the Law and this place; and besides he has even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place."
  3. For they had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple.
  4. Then all the city was provoked, and the people rushed together, and taking hold of Paul they dragged him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were shut.
  5. While they were seeking to kill him, a report came up to the commander of the Roman cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.
  1. 그가 급히 군인들과 백부장들을 거느리고 달려 내려가니 그들이 천부장과 군인들을 보고 바울 치기를 그치는지라
  2. 이에 천부장이 가까이 가서 바울을 잡아 두 쇠사슬로 결박하라 명하고 그가 누구이며 그가 무슨 일을 하였느냐 물으니
  3. 무리 가운데서 어떤 이는 이런 말로, 어떤 이는 저런 말로 소리 치거늘 천부장이 소동으로 말미암아 진상을 알 수 없어 그를 영내로 데려가라 명하니라
  4. 바울이 층대에 이를 때에 무리의 폭행으로 말미암아 군사들에게 들려가니
  5. 이는 백성의 무리가 그를 없이하자고 외치며 따라 감이러라
  1. At once he took along some soldiers and centurions and ran down to them; and when they saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.
  2. Then the commander came up and took hold of him, and ordered him to be bound with two chains; and he began asking who he was and what he had done.
  3. But among the crowd some were shouting one thing and some another, and when he could not find out the facts because of the uproar, he ordered him to be brought into the barracks.
  4. When he got to the stairs, he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the mob;
  5. for the multitude of the people kept following them, shouting, "Away with him!"
