느헤미야

  본서는 바벨론으로부터의 3차 포로 귀환과 성벽 재건, 선민 이스라엘 백성들의 신앙 회복과 부흥의 역사를 기록하여 언약을 성취하신 신실한 하나님을 증거하고 있다.

  예루살렘 성벽이 훼파된 소식을 들은 느헤미야는 왕의 허락을 받고 귀향하여 에스라와 함께 성벽을 재건한다. 그 후 백성들은 수문 광장에 모여 에스라가 읽는 율법을 듣고 자신과 조상의 죄를 회개하고 율법을 지킬 것을 맹세한다. 그러나 느헤미야가 유다 총독으로 12년간 업무를 관장하다가 바벨론을 다녀온 사이 백성들은 다시 죄악의 길에 빠졌고, 이를 발견한 느헤미야가 대대적인 개혁을 단행한다.

 

 

느헤미야 1:1-2:20

 아닥사스다 왕의 술 맡은 관원인 느헤미야는 예루살렘 성이 훼파되고, 이스라엘 백성들은 능욕을 받는다는 비참한 소식을 듣고 하나님께 금식하며 기도드렸다. 아닥사스다 왕은 느헤미야의 고민을 듣고 조서를 내려 느헤미야에게 예루살렘에 가도록 허락하였다. 예루살렘에 도착한 느헤미야는 밤중에 예루살렘 성벽의 참담한 상황을 확인한 후, 이스라엘 백성들에게 성벽 중건을 호소하였다.
  
  느헤미야의 첫번째 귀국(1:1-2:20)    
 
  1. 하가랴의 아들 느헤미야의 말이라 아닥사스다 왕 제이십년 기슬르월에 내가 수산 궁에 있는데
  2. 내 형제들 가운데 하나인 하나니가 두어 사람과 함께 유다에서 내게 이르렀기로 내가 그 사로잡힘을 면하고 남아 있는 유다와 예루살렘 사람들의 형편을 물은즉
  3. 그들이 내게 이르되 사로잡힘을 면하고 남아 있는 자들이 그 지방 거기에서 큰 환난을 당하고 능욕을 받으며 예루살렘 성은 허물어지고 성문들은 불탔다 하는지라
  4. 내가 이 말을 듣고 앉아서 울고 수일 동안 슬퍼하며 하늘의 하나님 앞에 금식하며 기도하여
  5. 이르되 하늘의 하나님 여호와 크고 두려우신 하나님이여 주를 사랑하고 주의 계명을 지키는 자에게 언약을 지키시며 긍휼을 베푸시는 주여 간구하나이다
  1. The words of Nehemiah the son of Hacaliah Now it happened in the month Chislev, in the twentieth year, while I was in Susa the capitol,
  2. that Hanani, one of my brothers, and some men from Judah came; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped and had survived the captivity, and about Jerusalem.
  3. They said to me, "The remnant there in the province who survived the captivity are in great distress and reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates are burned with fire."
  4. When I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.
  5. I said, "I beseech You, O LORD God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who preserves the covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments,
  1. 이제 종이 주의 종들인 이스라엘 자손을 위하여 주야로 기도하오며 우리 이스라엘 자손이 주께 범죄한 죄들을 자복하오니 주는 귀를 기울이시며 눈을 여시사 종의 기도를 들으시옵소서 나와 내 아버지의 집이 범죄하여
  2. 주를 향하여 크게 악을 행하여 주께서 주의 종 모세에게 명령하신 계명과 율례와 규례를 지키지 아니하였나이다
  3. 옛적에 주께서 주의 종 모세에게 명령하여 이르시되 만일 너희가 범죄하면 내가 너희를 여러 나라 가운데에 흩을 것이요
  4. 만일 내게로 돌아와 내 계명을 지켜 행하면 너희 쫓긴 자가 하늘 끝에 있을지라도 내가 거기서부터 그들을 모아 내 이름을 두려고 택한 곳에 돌아오게 하리라 하신 말씀을 이제 청하건대 기억하옵소서
  5. 이들은 주께서 일찍이 큰 권능과 강한 손으로 구속하신 주의 종들이요 주의 백성이니이다
  1. let Your ear now be attentive and Your eyes open to hear the prayer of Your servant which I am praying before You now, day and night, on behalf of the sons of Israel Your servants, confessing the sins of the sons of Israel which we have sinned against You; I and my father's house have sinned.
  2. "We have acted very corruptly against You and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses.
  3. "Remember the word which You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful I will scatter you among the peoples;
  4. but if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens, I will gather them from there and will bring them to the place where I have chosen to cause My name to dwell.'
  5. "They are Your servants and Your people whom You redeemed by Your great power and by Your strong hand.
  1. 주여 구하오니 귀를 기울이사 종의 기도와 주의 이름을 경외하기를 기뻐하는 종들의 기도를 들으시고 오늘 종이 형통하여 이 사람들 앞에서 은혜를 입게 하옵소서 하였나니 그 때에 내가 왕의 술 관원이 되었느니라
  1. "O Lord, I beseech You, may Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant and the prayer of Your servants who delight to revere Your name, and make Your servant successful today and grant him compassion before this man " Now I was the cupbearer to the king.
 
 
  1. 아닥사스다 왕 제이십년 니산월에 왕 앞에 포도주가 있기로 내가 그 포도주를 왕에게 드렸는데 이전에는 내가 왕 앞에서 수심이 없었더니
  2. 왕이 내게 이르시되 네가 병이 없거늘 어찌하여 얼굴에 수심이 있느냐 이는 필연 네 마음에 근심이 있음이로다 하더라 그 때에 내가 크게 두려워하여
  3. 왕께 대답하되 왕은 만세수를 하옵소서 내 조상들의 묘실이 있는 성읍이 이제까지 황폐하고 성문이 불탔사오니 내가 어찌 얼굴에 수심이 없사오리이까 하니
  4. 왕이 내게 이르시되 그러면 네가 무엇을 원하느냐 하시기로 내가 곧 하늘의 하나님께 묵도하고
  5. 왕에게 아뢰되 왕이 만일 좋게 여기시고 종이 왕의 목전에서 은혜를 얻었사오면 나를 유다 땅 나의 조상들의 묘실이 있는 성읍에 보내어 그 성을 건축하게 하옵소서 하였는데
  1. And it came about in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, that wine was before him, and I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad in his presence.
  2. So the king said to me, "Why is your face sad though you are not sick? This is nothing but sadness of heart." Then I was very much afraid.
  3. I said to the king, "Let the king live forever Why should my face not be sad when the city, the place of my fathers' tombs, lies desolate and its gates have been consumed by fire?"
  4. Then the king said to me, "What would you request?" So I prayed to the God of heaven.
  5. I said to the king, "If it please the king, and if your servant has found favor before you, send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' tombs, that I may rebuild it."
  1. 그 때에 왕후도 왕 곁에 앉아 있었더라 왕이 내게 이르시되 네가 몇 날에 다녀올 길이며 어느 때에 돌아오겠느냐 하고 왕이 나를 보내기를 좋게 여기시기로 내가 기한을 정하고
  2. 내가 또 왕에게 아뢰되 왕이 만일 좋게 여기시거든 강 서쪽 총독들에게 내리시는 조서를 내게 주사 그들이 나를 용납하여 유다에 들어가기까지 통과하게 하시고
  3. 또 왕의 삼림 감독 아삽에게 조서를 내리사 그가 성전에 속한 영문의 문과 성곽과 내가 들어갈 집을 위하여 들보로 쓸 재목을 내게 주게 하옵소서 하매 내 하나님의 선한 손이 나를 도우시므로 왕이 허락하고
  4. 군대 장관과 마병을 보내어 나와 함께 하게 하시기로 내가 강 서쪽에 있는 총독들에게 이르러 왕의 조서를 전하였더니
  5. 호론 사람 산발랏과 종이었던 암몬 사람 도비야가 이스라엘 자손을 흥왕하게 하려는 사람이 왔다 함을 듣고 심히 근심하더라
  1. Then the king said to me, the queen sitting beside him, "How long will your journey be, and when will you return?" So it pleased the king to send me, and I gave him a definite time.
  2. And I said to the king, "If it please the king, let letters be given me for the governors of the provinces beyond the River, that they may allow me to pass through until I come to Judah,
  3. and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the fortress which is by the temple, for the wall of the city and for the house to which I will go " And the king granted them to me because the good hand of my God was on me.
  4. Then I came to the governors of the provinces beyond the River and gave them the king's letters Now the king had sent with me officers of the army and horsemen.
  5. When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard about it, it was very displeasing to them that someone had come to seek the welfare of the sons of Israel.
  1. 내가 예루살렘에 이르러 머무른 지 사흘 만에
  2. 내 하나님께서 예루살렘을 위해 무엇을 할 것인지 내 마음에 주신 것을 내가 아무에게도 말하지 아니하고 밤에 일어나 몇몇 사람과 함께 나갈새 내가 탄 짐승 외에는 다른 짐승이 없더라
  3. 그 밤에 골짜기 문으로 나가서 용정으로 분문에 이르는 동안에 보니 예루살렘 성벽이 다 무너졌고 성문은 불탔더라
  4. 앞으로 나아가 샘문과 왕의 못에 이르러서는 탄 짐승이 지나갈 곳이 없는지라
  5. 그 밤에 시내를 따라 올라가서 성벽을 살펴본 후에 돌아서 골짜기 문으로 들어와 돌아왔으나
  1. So I came to Jerusalem and was there three days.
  2. And I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. I did not tell anyone what my God was putting into my mind to do for Jerusalem and there was no animal with me except the animal on which I was riding.
  3. So I went out at night by the Valley Gate in the direction of the Dragon's Well and on to the Refuse Gate, inspecting the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down and its gates which were consumed by fire.
  4. Then I passed on to the Fountain Gate and the King's Pool, but there was no place for my mount to pass.
  5. So I went up at night by the ravine and inspected the wall. Then I entered the Valley Gate again and returned.
  1. 방백들은 내가 어디 갔었으며 무엇을 하였는지 알지 못하였고 나도 그 일을 유다 사람들에게나 제사장들에게나 귀족들에게나 방백들에게나 그 외에 일하는 자들에게 알리지 아니하다가
  2. 후에 그들에게 이르기를 우리가 당한 곤경은 너희도 보고 있는 바라 예루살렘이 황폐하고 성문이 불탔으니 자, 예루살렘 성을 건축하여 다시 수치를 당하지 말자 하고
  3. 또 그들에게 하나님의 선한 손이 나를 도우신 일과 왕이 내게 이른 말씀을 전하였더니 그들의 말이 일어나 건축하자 하고 모두 힘을 내어 이 선한 일을 하려 하매
  4. 호론 사람 산발랏과 종이었던 암몬 사람 도비야와 아라비아 사람 게셈이 이 말을 듣고 우리를 업신여기고 우리를 비웃어 이르되 너희가 하는 일이 무엇이냐 너희가 왕을 배반하고자 하느냐 하기로
  5. 내가 그들에게 대답하여 이르되 하늘의 하나님이 우리를 형통하게 하시리니 그의 종들인 우리가 일어나 건축하려니와 오직 너희에게는 예루살렘에서 아무 기업도 없고 권리도 없고 기억되는 바도 없다 하였느니라
  1. The officials did not know where I had gone or what I had done; nor had I as yet told the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials or the rest who did the work.
  2. Then I said to them, "You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is desolate and its gates burned by fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a reproach."
  3. I told them how the hand of my God had been favorable to me and also about the king's words which he had spoken to me. Then they said, "Let us arise and build." So they put their hands to the good work.
  4. But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official, and Geshem the Arab heard it, they mocked us and despised us and said, "What is this thing you are doing? Are you rebelling against the king?"
  5. So I answered them and said to them, "The God of heaven will give us success; therefore we His servants will arise and build, but you have no portion, right or memorial in Jerusalem."
