- 예루살렘으로 올라가는 길에 예수께서 그들 앞에 서서 가시는데 그들이 놀라고 따르는 자들은 두려워하더라 이에 다시 열두 제자를 데리시고 자기가 당할 일을 말씀하여 이르시되
- 보라 우리가 예루살렘에 올라가노니 인자가 대제사장들과 서기관들에게 넘겨지매 그들이 죽이기로 결의하고 이방인들에게 넘겨 주겠고
- 그들은 능욕하며 침 뱉으며 채찍질하고 죽일 것이나 그는 삼 일 만에 살아나리라 하시니라
- 세베대의 아들 야고보와 요한이 주께 나아와 여짜오되 선생님이여 무엇이든지 우리가 구하는 바를 우리에게 하여 주시기를 원하옵나이다
- 이르시되 너희에게 무엇을 하여 주기를 원하느냐

- And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
- Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
- And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
- And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
- And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?

- 여짜오되 주의 영광중에서 우리를 하나는 주의 우편에, 하나는 좌편에 앉게 하여 주옵소서
- 예수께서 이르시되 너희는 너희가 구하는 것을 알지 못하는도다 내가 마시는 잔을 너희가 마실 수 있으며 내가 받는 세례를 너희가 받을 수 있느냐
- 그들이 말하되 할 수 있나이다 예수께서 이르시되 너희는 내가 마시는 잔을 마시며 내가 받는 세례를 받으려니와
- 내 좌우편에 앉는 것은 내가 줄 것이 아니라 누구를 위하여 준비되었든지 그들이 얻을 것이니라
- 열 제자가 듣고 야고보와 요한에 대하여 화를 내거늘

- They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
- But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
- And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
- But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
- And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.

- 예수께서 불러다가 이르시되 이방인의 집권자들이 그들을 임의로 주관하고 그 고관들이 그들에게 권세를 부리는 줄을 너희가 알거니와
- 너희 중에는 그렇지 않을지니 너희 중에 누구든지 크고자 하는 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 되고
- 너희 중에 누구든지 으뜸이 되고자 하는 자는 모든 사람의 종이 되어야 하리라
- 인자가 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라

- But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
- But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
- And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
- For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
