- '형제가 네게 죄를 짓거든 너는 그와 단둘이 만나 잘못을 타일러라. 그가 네 말을 들으면 너는 네 형제를 얻은 것이다.
- 그러나 듣지 않으면 너는 한 두 사람을 더 데리고 가서 두 세 증인의 입으로 모든 사실을 증명하라.
- 그래도 듣지 않으면 너는 교회에 말하고 교회의 말도 듣지 않으면 믿지 않는 사람이나 죄인처럼 여겨라.
- 내가 너희에게 분명히 말하지만 너희가 땅에서 처벌하면 하늘에서도 처벌할 것이며 너희가 땅에서 용서하면 하늘에서도 용서할 것이다.
- 내가 다시 말한다. 너희 중에 두 사람이 땅에서 마음을 같이하여 무엇이든지 구하면 하늘에 계신 내 아버지께서 이루어 주실 것이다.

- "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
- But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'
- If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
- "I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will bebound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
- "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.

- 두 세 사람이 내 이름으로 모이는 곳에는 나도 그들 가운데 있다.'
- 그때 베드로가 예수님께 와서 '주님, 형제가 내게 죄를 지었을 때 몇 번이나 용서해야 합니까? 일곱 번까지면 되겠습니까?' 하고 묻자
- 예수님은 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '일곱 번만 아니라 일흔번씩 일곱 번이라도 용서하여라.

- For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
- Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"
- Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
