- 미련한 자는 악을 행하는 것으로 낙을 삼지만 총명한 사람은 지혜로 낙을 삼는다.
- 악인에게는 그가 두려워하는 것이 밀어닥치지만 의로운 사람에게는 그가 원하는 것이 이루어진다.
- 재난이 폭풍처럼 밀어닥치면 악인은 없어져도 의로운 사람은 끄떡도 하지 않는다.
- 게으른 자는 고용주에게 상한 이빨에 식초 같고 눈에 연기 같아서 대단히 귀찮은 존재이다.

- A fool finds pleasure in evil conduct, but a man of understanding delights in wisdom.

- 의로운 사람의 희망은 성취될 것이지만 악인의 기대는 무너질 것이다.
- 여호와는 정직한 사람을 보호하시고 악인들을 멸망시키신다.
- 의로운 사람은 언제나 안전하여도 악인은 땅에서 살아 남지 못할 것이다.
- 의로운 사람의 입은 지혜를 말하여도 악하고 더러운 혀는 베임을 당할 것이다.
