- 예수님은 이 말씀을 하시고 앞장 서서 예루살렘을 향해 가셨다.
- 감람산 기슭 벳바게와 베다니에 이르렀을 때 예수님은 두 제자를 보내시며
- 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '너희는 맞은편 마을로 가거라. 거기에 가면 아무도 타 보지 않은 나귀 새끼 한 마리가 매여 있을 것이다. 풀어서 이리 끌고 오너라.
- 만일 누가 왜 나귀를 푸시오? 하고 묻거든 주님이 쓰십니다 하여라.'
- 그들이 가 보니 예수님이 말씀하신 대로 나귀 새끼가 매여 있었다.

- And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
- And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
- Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
- And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
- And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.

- 그래서 그들이 나귀 새끼를 풀자 주인이 '왜 나귀 새끼를 푸시오?' 하고 물었다.
- 제자들은 '주님이 쓰십니다.' 하고
- 그 나귀를 끌고 와 자기들의 겉옷을 나귀 등에 펴고 예수님을 태웠다.
- 예수님이 나귀를 타고 가시자 사람들은 겉옷을 벗어 길에 폈다.
- 예수님이 감람산 비탈 길 가까이 오셨을 때 수많은 제자들이 자기들이 본 모든 기적에 대하여 기뻐하며 큰 소리로 하나님을 찬양하며

- And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
- And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
- And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
- And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
- And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

- '주의 이름으로 오시는 왕이 복이 있다! 하늘에는 평화! 가장 높은 곳에는 영광!' 하고 외쳤다.
- 그러자 군중 가운데 끼어 있던 몇몇 바리새파 사람들이 예수님께 '선생님, 당신의 제자들을 책망하십시오.' 하였다.
- 그래서 예수님이 '내가 너희에게 말하지만 이 사람들이 잠잠하면 돌들이 소리지를 것이다.' 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 예수님은 예루살렘 가까이 오셔서 그 도시를 바라보고 우시면서
- 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '너도 오늘날 너에게 평화를 가져다 주는 것이 무엇인지 알았더라면 좋았을 텐데. 그러나 지금 그것이 너에게 숨겨져 있구나.

- Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
- And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
- And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
- And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
- Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

- 네 원수들이 너를 향해 둑을 쌓고 사방으로 너를 포위하여
- 너와 네 자녀들을 완전히 멸망시키고 돌 하나도 그대로 남겨 두지 않을 때가 올 것이다. 이것은 하나님이 너에게 찾아온 때를 네가 알지 못했기 때문이다.'
- 예수님은 성전에 들어가 장사하는 사람들을 쫓아내시며
- '내 성전은 기도하는 집이다.' 라고 성경에 쓰여 있는데 너희는 이 집을 강도의 소굴로 만들었다.' 하고 말씀하셨다.
- 예수님이 날마다 성전에서 가르치시자 대제사장들과 율법학자들과 백성의 지도자들이 예수님을 죽이려고 하였다.

- For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
- And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
- And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
- Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
- And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,

- 그러나 모든 백성이 예수님의 말씀을 열심히 듣고 있었기 때문에 그들은 어떻게 할 수가 없었다.

- And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
