- 이때 베드로는 여러 지방을 두루 다니다가 룻다에 사는 성도들에게 내려갔다.
- 거기서 그는 8년 동안 중풍병으로 드러누운 애니아라는 사람을 만났다.
- 베드로가 그에게 '애니아씨, 예수 그리스도께서 당신을 고치십니다. 일어나 자리를 정돈하십시오.' 하자 그는 즉시 일어났다.
- 룻다와 사론에 사는 사람들은 애니아에게 일어난 일을 보고 모두 주님께로 돌아왔다.
- 한편 욥바에는 다비다(그리이스말로는 도르가)라는 여신도가 있었는데 그녀는 착한 일과 구제 사업을 많이 하고 있었다.

- And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
- And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
- And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
- And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
- Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

- 이 무렵 그 여자가 병들어 죽자 사람들이 시체를 씻어서 이층에 안치하였다.
- 욥바에서 멀지 않은 룻다에 베드로가 있다는 말을 듣고 제자들은 두 사람을 그에게 보내 속히 와 달라고 간청하였다.
- 그래서 베드로는 일어나 두 사람과 함께 갔다. 그가 욥바에 도착하자 사람들이 그를 이층방으로 안내하였다. 과부들은 모두 베드로의 주변에 둘러서서 울며 도르가가 살아 있을 때 만들어 둔 속옷과 겉옷을 보여 주었다.
- 베드로는 사람들을 모두 밖으로 내보낸 후 무릎을 꿇고 기도하였다. 그리고서 그가 시체를 향해 '다비다 부인, 일어나시오!' 하자 그 여자가 눈을 뜨고 베드로를 보며 일어나 앉았다.
- 베드로는 그 여자의 손을 잡아 일으켜 세우고 성도들과 과부들을 불러 그녀가 살아난 것을 보여주었다.

- And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
- And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
- Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
- But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
- And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

- 그리고 그 소문이 온 욥바에 퍼져서 많은 사람이 주님을 믿었다.
- 베드로는 욥바에서 여러 날 동안 가죽 만드는 시몬의 집에 머물러 있었다.

- And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
- And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.
