에스겔 31:1-32:32

 하나님께서는 이미 멸망한 앗수르를 레바논 백향목에 비유하여 애굽에게 앗수르의 영광과 몰락을 상기시키면서 애굽도 앗수르와 같이 될 것이라고 경고하셨다. 에스겔은 하나님의 심판으로 죽음에 이른 바로에 대하여, 또 몰락될 그 왕국의 권세에 대하여 애가를 불렀다.
  
  레바논 백향목의 비유(31:1-31:18)    
 
  1. 우리가 포로 되어 온 지 11년째가 되는 해 3월 1일에 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '사람의 아들아, 너는 이집트의 바로 왕과 그 백성에게 내가 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라. '너만한 위엄을 가진 자가 누구인가?
  3. 그러나 너는 앗시리아를 한번 생각해 보아라. 앗시리아는 한때 레바논의 백향목과 같았다. 그 가지가 아름답고 그들은 숲의 그늘 같으며 키는 하늘 높이 솟아올라 그 꼭대기가 구름에 닿았다.
  4. 물이 그 나무를 기르고 깊은 샘이 그것을 자라게 하였으며 그것이 심겨진 주변에는 강물이 흐르고 그 물줄기가 숲의 모든 나무에 미쳤다.
  5. 물이 많으므로 그 나무는 다른 나무보다 키가 크고 가지가 무성하여 길게 뻗었으니
  1. In the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first of the month, the word of the LORD came to me saying,
  2. "Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his hordes, 'Whom are you like in your greatness?
  3. 'Behold, Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon With beautiful branches and forest shade, And very high, And its top was among the clouds.
  4. 'The waters made it grow, the deep made it high. With its rivers it continually extended all around its planting place, And sent out its channels to all the trees of the field.
  5. 'Therefore its height was loftier than all the trees of the field And its boughs became many and its branches long Because of many waters as it spread them out.
  1. 공중의 모든 새가 그 가지에 깃들이고 모든 들짐승이 그 가지 아래서 새끼를 낳으며 모든 강대국들이 그 그늘 아래서 살았다.
  2. 뿌리가 물에 깊숙이 뻗었으므로 그 나무가 키가 크고 가지가 길어 모양이 아름다우니
  3. 하나님의 동산에 있는 백향목이 그것에 비할 바 못 되고 잣나무도 그 가지만 못하며 플라타너스도 그 가지와 비교가 안 되고 하나님의 동산에 있는 그 어떤 나무도 그 아름다움만 못하였다.
  4. 내가 가지를 무성하게 하여 그 나무를 아름답게 하였더니 하나님의 동산에 있는 에덴의 모든 나무들이 다 시기하였다.
  5. 그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말한다. 그것이 하늘 높이 솟아 키가 구름에 닿자 그 마음이 교만하였다.
  1. 'All the birds of the heavens nested in its boughs, And under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth, And all great nations lived under its shade.
  2. 'So it was beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches; For its roots extended to many waters.
  3. 'The cedars in God's garden could not match it; The cypresses could not compare with its boughs, And the plane trees could not match its branches No tree in God's garden could compare with it in its beauty.
  4. 'I made it beautiful with the multitude of its branches, And all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God, were jealous of it.
  5. 'Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Because it is high in stature and has set its top among the clouds, and its heart is haughty in its loftiness,
  1. 그래서 내가 그를 버려 강대국의 통치자에게 넘기고 그가 행한 악에 따라 그를 다루도록 하였다.
  2. 무자비한 외국 민족들이 그를 찍어 버렸으므로 크고 작은 나무 가지들이 꺾여 산과 모든 골짜기에 떨어졌다. 그러자 세상 모든 백성이 그를 버리고 그 그늘에서 떠났으며
  3. 공중의 모든 새들이 그 넘어진 나무에 와서 앉고 모든 들짐승이 그 가지를 짓밟아 버렸다.
  4. 그래서 물가에 있는 나무도 키가 크다고 해서 교만하지 못하게 하고 그 꼭대기를 구름 속으로 쳐들지 못하게 하며 물 공급을 잘 받는 나무라 할지라도 그처럼 높이 솟아오르지 못하게 하였다. 이것은 그 나무들이 모두 죽어 구덩이로 내려가는 사람들과 함께 지하에서 머물도록 되어 있기 때문이다.
  5. 나 주 여호와가 말한다. 그 나무가 죽음의 세계로 내려가던 날에 내가 슬픔의 표시로 지하의 깊은 샘을 덮고 강들을 막아 흐르지 못하게 하였다. 그 나무가 죽었으므로 내가 레바논에 침울한 슬픔이 감돌게 하고 들의 모든 나무를 시들게 하였다.
  1. therefore I will give it into the hand of a despot of the nations; he will thoroughly deal with it According to its wickedness I have driven it away.
  2. "Alien tyrants of the nations have cut it down and left it; on the mountains and in all the valleys its branches have fallen and its boughs have been broken in all the ravines of the land And all the peoples of the earth have gone down from its shade and left it.
  3. "On its ruin all the birds of the heavens will dwell, and all the beasts of the field will be on its fallen branches
  4. so that all the trees by the waters may not be exalted in their stature, nor set their top among the clouds, nor their well-watered mighty ones stand erect in their height. For they have all been given over to death, to the earth beneath, among the sons of men, with those who go down to the pit."
  5. 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "On the day when it went down to Sheol I caused lamentations; I closed the deep over it and held back its rivers. And its many waters were stopped up, and I made Lebanon mourn for it, and all the trees of the field wilted away on account of it.
  1. 내가 그것을 구덩이로 내려가는 자들과 함께 죽음의 세계로 내려보낼 때 그 떨어지는 소리에 온 세계가 진동하게 하였다. 그때 에덴의 모든 나무들, 곧 물 공급을 잘 받은 가장 좋은 나무들이 지하에서 위로를 받았다.
  2. 그 그늘에 살던 자들과 그의 동맹국들도 그와 함께 무덤으로 내려가 칼날에 죽임을 당한 자들과 하나가 되었다.
  3. 이집트야, 너는 에덴의 모든 나무, 곧 세계의 모든 나라 중에서 크고 영화스러웠다. 그러나 너는 에덴의 모든 나무들과 함께 지하에 내려갈 것이며 칼날에 죽임을 당한 자들과 함께 네가 멸시하는 민족들 가운데 누울 것이다. 이것이 바로 너 바로와 네 백성의 운명이다. 나 주 여호와가 말하였다.'
  1. "I made the nations quake at the sound of its fall when I made it go down to Sheol with those who go down to the pit; and all the well-watered trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, were comforted in the earth beneath.
  2. "They also went down with it to Sheol to those who were slain by the sword; and those who were its strength lived under its shade among the nations.
  3. "To which among the trees of Eden are you thus equal in glory and greatness? Yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth beneath; you will lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who were slain by the sword So is Pharaoh and all his hordes!"' declares the Lord GOD."
 
  바로를 위한 애가(32:1-32:32)    
 
  1. 우리가 포로 되어 온 지 12년째가 되는 해 12월 1일에 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '사람의 아들아, 너는 이집트 왕 바로에게 다음과 같은 애가를 불러 주어라. '네가 모든 나라 가운데서 젊은 사자처럼 행세하고 있으나 너는 나일 강변의 한 마리 악어에 불과하다. 네가 강을 휘젓고 다니면서 발로 흙탕물을 일으켜 강을 더럽히는구나.
  3. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라. 내가 많은 민족들과 함께 내 그물을 너에게 던질 것이니 그들이 내 그물로 너를 끌어내리라.
  4. 내가 너를 땅에 던질 것이니 공중의 새들과 땅의 모든 짐승이 와서 너를 먹고 배부를 것이다.
  5. 내가 네 살을 여러 산에 흩어 버리고 네 시체로 골짜기를 메울 것이며
  1. In the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, the word of the LORD came to me saying,
  2. "Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him, 'You compared yourself to a young lion of the nations, Yet you are like the monster in the seas; And you burst forth in your rivers And muddied the waters with your feet And fouled their rivers.'"
  3. Thus says the Lord GOD, "Now I will spread My net over you With a company of many peoples, And they shall lift you up in My net.
  4. "I will leave you on the land; I will cast you on the open field. And I will cause all the birds of the heavens to dwell on you, And I will satisfy the beasts of the whole earth with you.
  5. "I will lay your flesh on the mountains And fill the valleys with your refuse.
  1. 네 피로 흠뻑 땅을 적셔 산에까지 미치게 하고 그 피로 개천을 채우리라.
  2. 내가 너를 소멸할 때에 하늘을 가리고 별을 어둡게 하며 해를 구름으로 가릴 것이니 달도 빛을 내지 못할 것이다.
  3. 내가 하늘의 모든 빛을 네 위에서 어둡게 하여 네 땅에 어두움이 덮이게 하리라. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.
  4. 내가 네 패망의 소식을 전세계 곧 네가 알지 못하는 나라에까지 전할 것이니 많은 나라가 번민하리라.
  5. 내가 너에게 행한 일을 보고 많은 민족이 놀랄 것이며 내가 그들 앞에서 네 칼을 휘두를 때에 네가 당한 일로 왕들이 두려워 떨 것이다. 네가 패망하는 날에 그들이 모두 자기들의 생명을 위해 두려워 떨리라.
  1. "I will also make the land drink the discharge of your blood As far as the mountains, And the ravines will be full of you.
  2. "And when I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud And the moon will not give its light.
  3. "All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you And will set darkness on your land," Declares the Lord GOD.
  4. "I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples when I bring your destruction among the nations, into lands which you have not known.
  5. "I will make many peoples appalled at you, and their kings will be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and they will tremble every moment, every man for his own life, on the day of your fall."
  1. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라. 바빌로니아 왕의 칼이 너를 칠 것이다.
  2. 내가 네 백성을 세계에서 가장 무자비한 폭군들의 칼날에 쓰러지게 할 것이니 그들이 너의 모든 교만을 꺾고 네 백성을 다 죽일 것이다.
  3. 내가 너의 모든 짐승을 물가에서 죽일 것이니 사람이나 짐승이 더 이상 그 물을 흐리게 하지 못하리라.
  4. 내가 그 물을 맑게 하여 물이 기름처럼 유유히 흐르게 하리라. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.
  5. 내가 이집트를 황폐하게 하고 그 땅에 있는 모든 것을 쓸어 버리며 거기에 사는 모든 백성을 칠 것이니 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알 것이다.'
  1. For thus says the Lord GOD, "The sword of the king of Babylon will come upon you.
  2. "By the swords of the mighty ones I will cause your hordes to fall; all of them are tyrants of the nations, And they will devastate the pride of Egypt, And all its hordes will be destroyed.
  3. "I will also destroy all its cattle from beside many waters; And the foot of man will not muddy them anymore And the hoofs of beasts will not muddy them.
  4. "Then I will make their waters settle And will cause their rivers to run like oil," Declares the Lord GOD.
  5. "When I make the land of Egypt a desolation, And the land is destitute of that which filled it, When I smite all those who live in it, Then they shall know that I am the LORD.
  1. 이것은 슬피 부를 애가이다. 온 세계 사람들이 이집트와 그 백성을 위해 슬퍼하며 이 애가를 부를 것이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.'
  2. 그로부터 두 주일이 지난 후에 여호와께서 나에게 다시 말씀하셨다.
  3. '사람의 아들아, 너는 이집트 백성을 위해 슬퍼하고 이집트와 강대국 국민들을 구덩이에 내려가는 자들과 함께 하계에 내려보내고 그들에게 이렇게 말하라.
  4. 너희가 다른 사람들보다 아름답다고 생각하느냐? 너희는 죽음의 세계로 내려가서 경건치 않은 이방 민족들과 함께 누워라.'
  5. 이집트 백성들은 칼날에 죽임을 당한 자들과 함께 쓰러질 것이다. 이미 칼이 그들을 죽일 준비를 하고 있다.
  1. "This is a lamentation and they shall chant it. The daughters of the nations shall chant it. Over Egypt and over all her hordes they shall chant it," declares the Lord GOD.
  2. In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth of the month, the word of the LORD came to me saying,
  3. "Son of man, wail for the hordes of Egypt and bring it down, her and the daughters of the powerful nations, to the nether world, with those who go down to the pit;
  4. 'Whom do you surpass in beauty? Go down and make your bed with the uncircumcised.'
  5. "They shall fall in the midst of those who are slain by the sword. She is given over to the sword; they have drawn her and all her hordes away.
  1. 지하에 있는 영웅들이 이집트 백성과 그 동맹자들에 대하여 '그들이 내려와서 경건치 않은 자들, 곧 칼날에 죽임을 당한 자들과 함께 누웠다!' 하고 외칠 것이다.
  2. 거기에는 앗시리아도 그 군대의 무덤에 둘러싸여 있는데 그들은 다 전쟁터에서 죽은 자들이다.
  3. 그들의 무덤이 죽음의 세계 깊은 곳에 있고 그 군대는 그 무덤 주변에 있으니 그들은 온 세상을 두렵게 하던 자들로서 칼날에 죽임을 당하여 쓰러진 자들이다.
  4. 거기에 엘람이 있고 그 주변에는 그 군대의 무덤들이 있으니 그들은 다 칼날에 죽임을 당하여 할례를 받지 못한 채 지하로 내려간 자들이다. 그들이 살아 있을 때에는 온 세상을 두렵게 하더니 이제는 죽어서 구덩이에 내려가는 자들과 마찬가지로 수치를 당하였다.
  5. 그들은 그 백성들의 무덤에 둘러싸여 죽임을 당한 자들 가운데 자리를 펴고 누웠으며 다 할례받지 못하고 칼날에 죽임을 당한 자들이다. 그들이 살아 있을 때는 온 세상을 두렵게 하더니 이제는 구덩이에 내려가는 자들과 함께 수치를 당하여 죽임을 당한 자들 가운데 누워 있다.
  1. "The strong among the mighty ones shall speak of him and his helpers from the midst of Sheol, 'They have gone down, they lie still, the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.'
  2. "Assyria is there and all her company; her graves are round about her. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword,
  3. whose graves are set in the remotest parts of the pit and her company is round about her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword, who spread terror in the land of the living.
  4. "Elam is there and all her hordes around her grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who went down uncircumcised to the lower parts of the earth, who instilled their terror in the land of the living and bore their disgrace with those who went down to the pit.
  5. "They have made a bed for her among the slain with all her hordes. Her graves are around it, they are all uncircumcised, slain by the sword (although their terror was instilled in the land of the living), and they bore their disgrace with those who go down to the pit; they were put in the midst of the slain.
  1. 거기에는 메섹과 두발이 있으며 주변에는 그 군대의 무덤들이 있다. 그들은 다 할례를 받지 못하고 칼날에 죽임을 당한 자들이며 살아 있을 때 온 세상을 두렵게 하던 자들이다.
  2. 그러나 그들은 자기 무기를 가지고 무덤에 내려가 칼을 머리에 베고 방패로 몸을 덮은 옛날의 영웅들처럼 화려하게 묻히지 못하였다. 이 영웅들은 살아 있을 때 온 세상 사람들을 두렵게 하던 자들이다.
  3. 바로야, 너도 칼날에 죽임을 당한 자들과 마찬가지로 죽어 할례받지 못한 자들 가운데 누울 것이다.
  4. 거기에는 에돔과 그의 왕들과 그의 모든 대신들이 있다. 그들이 한때는 막강하였으나 이제는 칼날에 죽임을 당한 할례받지 못한 자들과 함께 죽은 자의 세계에 누워 있다.
  5. 북방에 모든 대신들과 모든 시돈 사람들도 거기에 있다. 그들이 한때는 막강하여 세상 사람들을 두렵게 하였으나 이제는 수치를 당한 채 죽임을 당한 자들과 함께 내려가 할례받지 못한 자들 가운데 누웠고 구덩이에 내려가는 자들과 함께 치욕을 당하였다.
  1. "Meshech, Tubal and all their hordes are there; their graves surround them All of them were slain by the sword uncircumcised, though they instilled their terror in the land of the living.
  2. "Nor do they lie beside the fallen heroes of the uncircumcised, who went down to Sheol with their weapons of war and whose swords were laid under their heads; but the punishment for their iniquity rested on their bones, though the terror of these heroes was once in the land of the living.
  3. "But in the midst of the uncircumcised you will be broken and lie with those slain by the sword.
  4. "There also is Edom, its kings and all its princes, who for all their might are laid with those slain by the sword; they will lie with the uncircumcised and with those who go down to the pit.
  5. "There also are the chiefs of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who in spite of the terror resulting from their might, in shame went down with the slain. So they lay down uncircumcised with those slain by the sword and bore their disgrace with those who go down to the pit.
  1. 바로와 그의 군대가 칼날에 죽임을 당한 자들의 이 모든 광경을 보고 위로를 받을 것이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.
  2. 내가 바로를 통해 세상 사람들을 두렵게 하였으나 이제는 그와 그 모든 군대가 칼날에 죽임을 당한 자들과 함께 할례받지 못한 자들 가운데 누울 것이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.'
  1. "These Pharaoh will see, and he will be comforted for all his hordes slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his army," declares the Lord GOD.
  2. "Though I instilled a terror of him in the land of the living, yet he will be made to lie down among the uncircumcised along with those slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his hordes," declares the Lord GOD.
