- And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
- Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
- Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
- Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
- These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

- 예수께서 열두 제자를 불러 악령들을 제어하는 권능을 주시어 그것들을 쫓아내고 병자와 허약한 사람들을 모두 고쳐주게 하셨다.
- 열두 사도의 이름은 이러하다. 베드로라고 하는 시몬과 그의 동생 안드레아를 비롯하여 제베대오의 아들 야고보와 요한 형제,
- 필립보와 바르톨로메오, 토마와 세리였던 마태오, 알패오의 아들 야고보와 타대오,
- 가나안 사람 시몬, 그리고 예수를 팔아 넘긴 가리옷 사람 유다이다.
- 예수께서 이 열두 사람을 파견하시면서 이렇게 분부하셨다. "이방인들이 사는 곳으로도 가지 말고 사마리아 사람들의 도시에도 들어가지 마라.

- But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
- And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
- Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
- Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

- 다만 이스라엘 백성 중의 길 잃은 양들을 찾아가라.
- 가서 하늘 나라가 다가왔다고 선포하여라.
- 앓는 사람은 고쳐주고 죽은 사람은 살려주어라. 나병환자는 깨끗이 낫게 해주고 마귀는 쫓아내어라. 너희가 거저 받았으니 거저 주어라."
- "전대에 금이나 은이나 동전을 넣어가지고 다니지 말 것이며
- 식량 자루나 여벌 옷이나 신이나 지팡이도 가지고 다니지 마라. 일하는 사람은 자기 먹을 것을 얻을 자격이 있다.

- And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
- And when ye come into an house, salute it.
- And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
- And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
- Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

- 어떤 도시나 마을에 들어가든지 먼저 그 고장에서 마땅한 사람을 찾아내어 거기에서 떠날 때까지 그 집에 머물러 있어라.
- 그 집에 들어갈 때에는 '평화를 빕니다!' 하고 인사하여라.
- 그 집이 평화를 누릴 만하면 너희가 비는 평화가 그 집에 내릴 것이고 그렇지 못하면 그 평화는 너희에게 되돌아올 것이다.
- 어디서든지 너희를 받아들이지도 않고 말도 듣지 않거든 그 집이나 그 도시를 떠날 때에 발에 묻은 먼지를 털어버려라.
- 나는 분명히 말한다. 심판 날이 오면 소돔과 고모라 땅이 오히려 그 도시보다 가벼운 벌을 받을 것이다."
