- And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
- And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
- And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
- And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
- And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

- 사도들이 돌아와서 자기들이 한 일과 가르친 것을 예수께 낱낱이 보고하였다.
- 예수께서는 제자들에게 "따로 한적한 곳으로 가서 함께 좀 쉬자." 하고 말씀하셨다. 찾아오는 사람이 너무 많아서 그들은 음식을 먹을 겨를조차 없었던 것이다.
- 예수의 일행은 배를 타고 따로 한적한 곳을 찾아 떠났다.
- 그런데 사람들은 그 일행이 떠나는 것을 보고 그들이 예수의 일행이라는 것을 알고는 여러 동네에서 모두 달려나와 육로로 해서 그들을 앞질러 그 곳에 갔다.
- 예수께서 배에서 내려 군중이 많이 모여 있는 것을 보시고 목자 없는 양과 같은 그들을 측은히 여기시어 여러 가지로 가르쳐주셨다.

- And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:
- Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
- He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
- He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
- And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

- 저녁때가 되자 제자들이 예수께 와서 "여기는 외딴 곳이고 시간도 이미 늦었습니다.
- 그러니 군중들을 헤쳐 제각기 음식을 사 먹도록 농가나 근처 마을로 보내는 것이 좋겠습니다." 하고 말하였다.
- 예수께서 "너희가 먹을 것을 주어라." 하고 이르시자 제자들은 "그러면 저희가 가서 빵을 이백 데나리온 어치나 사다가 먹이라는 말씀입니까?" 하고 물었다.
- 그러자 예수께서는 "지금 가지고 있는 빵이 몇 개나 되는가 가서 알아보아라." 하셨다. 그들이 알아보고 돌아와서 "빵 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리가 있습니다." 하자
- 예수께서는 제자들에게 군중을 풀밭에 떼지어 앉게 하라고 이르셨다.

- And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
- And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
- And they did all eat, and were filled.
- And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
- And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

- 군중은 백 명씩 또는 오십 명씩 모여 앉았다.
- 예수께서는 빵 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리를 손에 드시고 하늘을 우러러 감사의 기도를 드리신 다음, 빵을 떼어 제자들에게 주시며 군중들에게 나누어주라고 하셨다. 그리고 물고기 두 마리도 모든 사람에게 나누어주셨다.
- 사람들은 모두 배불리 먹었다.
- 그리고 남은 빵조각과 물고기를 주워 모으니 열두 광주리에 가득 찼으며
- 먹은 사람은 남자만도 오천 명이나 되었다.

- And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
- And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
- And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
- And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
- But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

- 그 뒤에 곧 예수께서는 제자들을 재촉하여 배를 태워 건너편 베싸이다로 먼저 가게 하시고 그 동안에 혼자서 군중을 돌려보내셨다.
- 그들을 보내시고 나서 기도하시려고 산으로 올라가셨다.
- 날이 저물었을 때에 배는 바다 한가운데 있었고 예수께서는 혼자 육지에 계셨다.
- 제자들은 마침 역풍을 만나 배를 젓느라고 몹시 애를 쓰고 있었다. 이것을 보신 예수께서는 물 위를 걸어서 제자들 쪽으로 오시다가 그들 곁을 지나쳐 가시려고 하였다. 그것은 새벽 네시쯤이었다.
- 제자들은 예수께서 물 위를 걸어오시는 것을 보고 유령인 줄 알고 비명을 질렀다.

- For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
- And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
- For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
- And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
- And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

- 그를 보고 모두 겁에 질렸던 것이다. 그러자 예수께서 곧 제자들을 향하여 "나다. 겁내지 말고 안심하여라." 하시며
- 그들이 탄 배에 오르시자 바람이 그쳤다. 제자들은 너무나 놀라 어찌할 바를 몰랐다.
- 그들은 마음이 무디어서 군중에게 빵을 먹이신 기적도 아직 깨닫지 못하였던 것이다.
- 그들은 바다를 건너 겐네사렛 땅에 배를 대었다.
- 그들이 배에서 내리자 사람들은 곧 예수를 알아보고

- And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.
- And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

- 그 근처 온 지방을 뛰어다니면서 병자들을 요에 눕혀가지고 예수가 계시다는 곳을 찾아 그리로 데려왔다.
- 마을이나 도시나 농촌이나 어디든지 예수께서 가시기만 하면 사람들은 병자들을 장터에 데려다 놓고 그 옷자락만이라도 만지게 해달라고 간청하였다. 그리고 손을 댄 사람은 모두 나았다.
