민수기

  본서는 이스라엘 민족의 광야 여정을 기록한 책으로, 이스라엘의 광야 생활 동안 일어났던 일들과 불순종에 대한 하나님의 심판과 자비를 기록하고 있다.

  시내 산에서 하나님과 언약을 맺은 이스라엘은 효율적인 광야 행군을 위한 군대 조직 편성의 기초 작업으로 1차 인구 조사를 실시한다. 그러나 시내 산을 떠난 즉시 그들은 불평하면서 모세에게 대항하고, 가데스에서 하나님을 반역한다. 그 결과 여호수아와 갈렙을 제외한 출애굽 제1세대는 광야에서 죽는다. 그 후 출애굽 제2세대는 마침내 약속의 땅인 가나안 동쪽 경계선인 요단 가 모압 평지에 도착하여 가나안 정복 전쟁 수행과 땅 분배를 위한 2차 인구 조사를 실시한다.

 

 

민수기 1:1-1:54

 하나님께서는 모세에게 백성들의 효과적 진군을 위해 인구 조사를 명령하셨다. 조사 결과, 20세 이상으로 싸움에 나갈 만한 남자의 수가 603,550명으로 집계되었고, 인구 조사에 제외된 레위인들은 성막 봉사자로 선택되었다.
  
  첫번째 인구 조사(1:1-1:54)    
 
  1. And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
  2. Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
  3. From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
  4. And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.
  5. And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of the tribe of Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.
  1. 이스라엘이 이집트에서 나온 그 이듬해 이월 일일, 야훼께서 시나이 광야의 만남의 장막에서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너희는 이스라엘 백성의 온 회중을 그 갈래와 가문별로 나누어 모든 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 세어가며 병적을 조사하여라.
  3. 너는 아론과 함께 이스라엘 사람들 가운데서 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 모든 장정을 부대별로 병적부에 올려라.
  4. 그리고 각 지파에서 가문의 어른을 한 사람씩 내어 너희를 돕게 하여라.
  5. 너희를 도와줄 사람들의 명단은 다음과 같다. 르우벤 지파에서 스데울의 아들 엘리술,
  1. Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
  2. Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
  3. Of Issachar; Nethaneel the son of Zuar.
  4. Of Zebulun; Eliab the son of Helon.
  5. Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
  1. 시므온 지파에서 수리사때의 아들 슬루미엘,
  2. 유다 지파에서 암미나답의 아들 나흐손,
  3. 이싸갈 지파에서 수알의 아들 느다넬,
  4. 즈불룬 지파에서 헬론의 아들 엘리압,
  5. 요셉의 아들 중 에브라임 지파에서는 암미훗의 아들 엘리사마, 므나쎄 지파에서는 브다술의 아들 가믈리엘,
  1. Of Benjamin; Abidan the son of Gideoni.
  2. Of Dan; Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
  3. Of Asher; Pagiel the son of Ocran.
  4. Of Gad; Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
  5. Of Naphtali; Ahira the son of Enan.
  1. 베냐민 지파에서 기드오니의 아들 아비단,
  2. 단 지파에서 암미사때의 아들 아히에젤,
  3. 아셀 지파에서 오그란의 아들 바기엘,
  4. 가드 지파에서 드우엘의 아들 엘랴삽,
  5. 납달리 지파에서 에난의 아들 아히라.
  1. These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.
  2. And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by their names:
  3. And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
  4. As the LORD commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
  5. And the children of Reuben, Israel's eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  1. 이들이 회중의 추대를 받아, 가문별 지파의 대표가 되어 이스라엘 각 군단을 지휘하는 사령관들이다."
  2. 모세와 아론은 위에 지명된 사람들을 거느리고
  3. 이월 일일 온 회중을 소집하여 스무 살 이상 되는 사람의 이름을 불러 그 수를 세어가며 갈래와 가문별로 등록시켰다.
  4. 야훼께서 지시하신 대로 모세는 시나이 광야에서 그들을 병적부에 올렸다.
  5. 이스라엘의 맏아들 르우벤의 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 세었다.
  1. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.
  2. Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  3. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.
  4. Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  5. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Gad, were forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.
  1. 르우벤 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 사만 육천오백이었다.
  2. 시므온 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  3. 시므온 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 오만 구천삼백이었다.
  4. 가드 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  5. 가드 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 사만 오천육백오십이었다.
  1. Of the children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  2. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Judah, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.
  3. Of the children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  4. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.
  5. Of the children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  1. 유다 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  2. 유다 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 칠만 사천육백이었다.
  3. 이싸갈의 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  4. 이싸갈 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 오만 사천사백이었다.
  5. 즈불룬 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  1. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.
  2. Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  3. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.
  4. Of the children of Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  5. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred.
  1. 즈불룬 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 오만 칠천사백이었다.
  2. 요셉의 후손 가운데 에브라임 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  3. 에브라임 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 사만 오백이었다.
  4. 므나쎄 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  5. 므나쎄 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 삼만 이천이백이었다.
  1. Of the children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  2. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred.
  3. Of the children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  4. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Dan, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.
  5. Of the children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  1. 베냐민 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  2. 베냐민 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 삼만 오천사백이었다.
  3. 단 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  4. 단 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 육만 이천칠백이었다.
  5. 아셀의 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  1. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Asher, were forty and one thousand and five hundred.
  2. Of the children of Naphtali, throughout their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
  3. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
  4. These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.
  5. So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;
  1. 아셀 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 사만 천오백이었다.
  2. 납달리 후손을 각 갈래와 가문별로 족보를 따져가며 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 일일이 호명하여 그 수를 조사하였다.
  3. 납달리 지파에서 등록된 장정의 수는 오만 삼천사백이었다.
  4. 이들은 모세와 아론이 이스라엘 각 가문을 대표하는 열두 대표와 함께 조사하여 등록시킨 사람들이다.
  5. 이렇게 이스라엘에서 전장에 나갈 수 있는 스무 살 이상 되는 장정을 이스라엘 백성의 각 가문별로 모두 등록시키고 보니
  1. Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
  2. But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
  3. For the LORD had spoken unto Moses, saying,
  4. Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:
  5. But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
  1. 등록된 장정의 수는 모두 육십만 삼천오백오십이었다.
  2. 레위인들만은 자기 가문별로 지파를 따라 병적부에 올리지 않았다.
  3. 야훼께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  4. "레위 지파만은 이스라엘 백성과 함께 병적부에 올리기 위하여 그 수를 세지 마라.
  5. 네가 레위인들에게 맡길 일은 증거판을 모신 성막과 거기에 있는 모든 기구와 부속품들을 보살피는 일이다. 그들은 성막과 그 모든 기구를 운반하여야 하고, 성막에 봉직하며 그 둘레에 진을 치고 살아야 한다.
  1. And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
  2. And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.
  3. But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.
  4. And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.
  1. 성막을 이동할 때 그것을 거두어 내릴 사람도 레위인들이요, 성막을 칠 때 그것을 세울 사람도 레위인들이다. 여느 사람이 나섰다가는 죽으리라.
  2. 이스라엘 백성은 각기 자기 진지, 자기 부대의 깃발 아래 머물러 있고,
  3. 증거판을 모신 성막 둘레에는 레위인들만이 진을 치고 있어야 한다. 그래야 이스라엘 백성 회중에 주의 진노가 내리지 않는다. 레위인들은 증거판을 모신 성막을 보살피는 일을 맡은 사람들이다."
  4. 이리하여 이스라엘 백성은 모든 것을 야훼께서 모세에게 내리신 지시대로 시행하였다.
