열왕기상 22:1-22:53

 극악한 왕 아합은 미가야의 패전과 죽음에 대한 예언에도 불구하고 400여 명의 거짓 선지자들의 말에 따라 여호사밧 왕과 동맹하여 길르앗 라못 탈환에 나섰다. 결국 예언대로 아합은 전쟁에 패했고 하나님의 심판으로 비참한 최후를 맞았다.
  
  아합의 마지막 전투(22:1-22:40)    
 
  1. And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
  2. And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
  3. And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?
  4. And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.
  5. And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.
  1. 그 후 시리아와 이스라엘 사이에 삼 년 동안 평화가 계속되었다.
  2. 삼 년째 되던 해에 유다 왕 여호사밧이 이스라엘 왕을 방문한 일이 있었다.
  3. 이스라엘 왕이 그의 신하들에게 말하였다. "그대들도 알다시피 라못길르앗은 본디 우리 땅이었는데 그것을 시리아 왕에게 빼앗기고 찾을 생각도 않고 있으니 이래서 되겠소?"
  4. 그리고 나서 여호사밧에게 말하였다. "우리가 라못길르앗을 치러갈 터인데 함께 가주시겠습니까?" 여호사밧이 이스라엘 왕에게 대답하였다. "우리가 지금 내 것 네 것 따질 사이입니까? 내 군대니 네 군대니, 내 군마니 네 군마니 할 사이입니까?"
  5. 이렇게 말하고 나서 여호사밧은 "당장 야훼께 여쭈어보도록 합시다." 하고 이스라엘 왕에게 말하였다.
  1. Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
  2. And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?
  3. And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
  4. Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten hither Micaiah the son of Imlah.
  5. And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
  1. 그리하여 이스라엘 왕은 예언자들을 사백여 명 모아놓고 물었다. "내가 라못길르앗을 치려고 하는데 공격하는 것이 좋겠는가? 아니면 그만두는 것이 좋겠는가?" 예언자들이 왕에게 대답하였다. "공격하십시오. 야훼께서 라못길르앗을 임금님 손에 부치실 것입니다."
  2. 이 대답을 듣고 여호사밧이 물었다. "이들 외에 우리가 물어볼 만한 다른 야훼의 예언자는 없습니까?"
  3. 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 대답하였다. "야훼께 뜻을 여쭈어줄 자가 하나 더 있기는 합니다. 이믈라의 아들 미가야라는 자인데, 나는 그를 싫어합니다. 내가 하겠다는 일이면 사사건건 잘되지 않으리라고 하는 자입니다. 한번도 잘되리라고 한 적은 없습니다." 여호사밧이 말하였다. "한 나라의 왕으로서 그런 말씀을 하시는 게 아닙니다."
  4. 이스라엘 왕은 내시를 불러 이믈라의 아들 미가야를 급히 데려오라고 명령하였다.
  5. 그 때 이스라엘 왕과 유다 왕 여호사밧은 사마리아 성문 밖 타작 마당에 마련해 놓은 옥좌에 정장을 하고 나란히 앉아 있었고 모든 예언자들이 그 두 왕 앞에서 예언하고 있었다.
  1. And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.
  2. And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king's hand.
  3. And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good.
  4. And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.
  5. So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
  1. 그나아나의 아들 시드키야는 쇠로 만든 뿔을 몇 개 가지고 나와서 말하였다. "야훼께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. '네가 이 뿔들로 시리아 군을 들이받아 전멸시키리라.'"
  2. 모든 예언자들이 같은 예언을 하며 말하였다. "라못길르앗으로 쳐 올라가 정복하십시오. 야훼께서 그 곳을 임금님 손에 부치실 것입니다."
  3. 미가야를 부르러 간 사람이 그를 만나 말하였다. "모든 예언자들이 한결같이 입을 모아 만사가 왕의 뜻대로 되리라고 예언하였소. 그러니 당신도 그들과 같은 말로 일이 순조롭게 되리라고 예언하시오."
  4. 미가야는, "무슨 일이 있어도 나는 야훼께서 나에게 말씀하신 것을 그대로 전할 따름이오." 하고 대답하였다.
  5. 그가 왕 앞에 나아가자 왕이 물었다. "미가야, 우리가 라못길르앗을 치려고 하는데 공격하는 것이 좋겠는가? 아니면 그만두는 것이 좋겠는가?" 미가야가 대답하였다. "쳐 올라가 정복하십시오. 야훼께서 라못길르앗을 임금님의 손에 넘겨주실 것입니다."
  1. And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?
  2. And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.
  3. And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?
  4. And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
  5. And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.
  1. 그러나 왕은 역정을 내었다. "야훼의 이름으로 진실만을 나에게 말할 것을 몇 번이나 서약시켜야 하겠는가?"
  2. 그러자 미가야는 이렇게 말하였다. "내가 보니, 온 이스라엘이 이 산 저 산으로 흩어지는데 마치 목자 없는 양떼 같았습니다. 그런데 야훼께서는 '이것들을 돌볼 주인이 없으니, 모두들 고이 집으로 돌려보내라.' 하고 말씀하셨습니다."
  3. 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 말하였다. "보시오. 내가 뭐라고 합디까? 저자는 한 번도 내가 하겠다는 일이 잘되리라고 한 적이 없습니다. 만사가 되지 않는다고만 하는 자입니다."
  4. 미가야가 말하였다. "그러시다면 야훼의 말씀을 들어보십시오. 내가 보니, 야훼께서 온 하늘 군대를 좌우에 거느리시고 당신의 옥좌에 앉으시어,
  5. 아합을 꾀어내어 라못길르앗을 치러 올라갔다가 죽게 할 자가 없느냐고 물으셨습니다. 그러자 여럿이서 제각기 자기 의견을 말하는데
  1. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.
  2. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persude him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
  3. Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.
  4. But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?
  5. And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
  1. 한 영이 야훼 앞에 나와서 자기가 아합을 꾀어내겠다고 말하였습니다.
  2. 야훼께서 그 영에게 '어떻게 하여 그를 꾀어내겠느냐?' 하고 물으시자 그는 '제가 거짓말하는 영이 되어 내려가서 아합의 모든 예언자들의 입에 들어가겠습니다.' 하고 대답하였습니다. 야훼께서 '그렇게 꾀어내면 되겠군. 가서 그대로 하여라.' 하고 명령하셨습니다.
  3. 이제 아셔야 합니다. 야훼께서는 임금님의 이 모든 예언자들 입에 거짓말하는 영을 넣으셨습니다. 야훼께서는 임금님에게 재앙을 내리시기로 결정하셨습니다."
  4. 그러자 그나아나의 아들 시드키야가 미가야에게 다가와서 뺨을 치며 호통을 쳤다. "야훼의 영이 나를 떠나서 어느 길로 건너가 너에게 말씀하셨단 말이냐?"
  5. 미가야가 대답하였다. "네가 골방으로 피신해 들어가는 날이 올 터인데 그 날에 스스로 알게 되리라."
  1. And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;
  2. And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.
  3. And Micaiah said, If thou return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, every one of you.
  4. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.
  5. And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
  1. 이스라엘 왕은, 미가야를 붙잡아 그 성읍의 영주 아몬과 왕족 요아스에게 끌고 가서 가두어두라고 명령하였다.
  2. 그리고 왕의 말을 그들에게 전하라고 하였다. "내가 안전하게 전장에서 돌아올 때까지 이자를 감옥에 가두고 굶어죽지 않을 정도로 먹여라."
  3. 미가야가 말하였다. "임금님께서 무사히 돌아만 오신다면 내가 받은 말씀이 야훼의 말씀이 아닙니다."
  4. 이스라엘 왕과 유다 왕 여호사밧은 라못길르앗으로 쳐 올라갔다.
  5. 이스라엘 왕이 여호사밧에게 말하였다. "나는 변장하고 전장에 나갈 터이니 왕은 왕복을 입고 나가시오." 이스라엘 왕은 변장하고 싸움터로 나갔다.
  1. But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.
  2. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.
  3. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
  4. And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
  5. And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.
  1. 시리아 왕은 그의 병거대 대장 삼십이 명에게 "아무하고도 싸우지 말고 오직 이스라엘 왕만 공격하여라." 하고 명령하였다.
  2. 병거대 대장들은 여호사밧을 보고 그가 이스라엘 왕이리라 생각하여 그를 치려고 달려들었다. 여호사밧이 기겁을 하여 소리치자
  3. 병거대 대장들은 그가 이스라엘 왕이 아님을 알고 돌아섰다.
  4. 군인들이 마구 쏘아대던 화살 하나가 이스라엘 왕에게 명중하였다. 화살이 갑옷 가슴막이를 이은 부분에 꽂히자 왕은 그의 병거를 모는 병사에게 명령하였다. "내가 다쳤다. 병거를 돌려 여기에서 빠져 나가자."
  5. 싸움이 막바지에 이르렀을 때, 왕은 병거 위에 버티고 서 있다가 저녁때에 시리아 군 앞에서 숨을 거두었다. 병거 바닥에는 왕의 상처에서 흐른 피가 흥건하였다.
  1. And there went a proclamation throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.
  2. So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
  3. And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the LORD which he spake.
  4. Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
  5. So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
  1. 해 질 무렵, 한 병사가 대열 속을 뛰어다니면서 외쳤다. "모두들 자기 성으로, 모두들 고향으로!
  2. 임금님께서 돌아가셨다." 사람들은 사마리아로 돌아와서 왕을 그 곳에 안장하였다.
  3. 그리고 왕의 병거와 무기를 사마리아의 연못에서 씻었는데 개들이 그 피를 핥았고 창녀들이 그 못에서 목욕하였다. 이와 같이 모든 것이 야훼께서 말씀하신 대로 되었다.
  4. 아합의 나머지 행적과 치적, 그가 세운 상아궁, 그가 건설한 성읍들 등 이 모든 것에 관하여는 이스라엘 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다.
  5. 아합이 세상을 떠나 그의 선조들과 함께 묻히자 그의 아들 아하지야가 왕위를 계승하였다.
 
  여호사밧과 아하시야의 통치(22:41-22:53)    
 
  1. And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
  2. Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
  3. And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.
  4. And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
  5. Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he shewed, and how he warred, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
  1. 아사의 아들 여호사밧은 이스라엘 왕 아합 제사년에 유다 왕이 되었다.
  2. 여호사밧은 삼십오 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 이십오 년간 다스렸다. 그의 어머니는 실히의 딸 아주바였다.
  3. 그는 부왕 아사가 생전에 걸어갔던 길을 그대로 따라 야훼 보시기에 올바른 일만을 하였다.
  4. 그러나 산당은 그대로 두었다. 백성들은 여전히 그 산당에서 제사를 드리고 향을 피워 올렸다.
  5. 여호사밧은 이스라엘 왕과 우호 관계를 유지하였다.
  1. And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.
  2. There was then no king in Edom: a deputy was king.
  3. Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Eziongeber.
  4. Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.
  5. And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
  1. 여호사밧의 나머지 행적과 치적 및 그가 용맹을 떨치며 치른 전쟁 등에 관하여는 유다 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다.
  2. 그는 부왕 아사의 시대에까지 남아 있던 남창들을 전국에서 쓸어버렸다.
  3. 에돔에는 왕이 없었다. 여호사밧이 거기에 수비대를 두고 있을 뿐이었다.
  4. 여호사밧 왕은 다르싯의 상선대를 조직하여 오빌에서 금을 운반해 오려고 하였다. 그러나 에시욘게벨에서 조난을 당하여 실패하고 말았다.
  5. 아합의 아들 아하지야가 여호사밧에게, 자기의 선원들을 보내어 도와주겠다고 제안하였으나 여호사밧은 거절하였다.
  1. Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.
  2. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin:
  3. For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the LORD God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
  1. 여호사밧은 열조들과 함께 잠들어 그의 조상인 다윗의 성에 안장되었다. 그의 아들 요람이 왕위를 계승하였다.
  2. 아합의 아들 아하지야는 유다 왕 여호사밧 제십칠년에 사마리아에서 이스라엘 왕위에 올라 이 년간 다스렸다.
  3. 그는 야훼의 눈에 거슬리는 일을 하였다. 이스라엘을 죄에 빠뜨렸던 그의 부모와 느밧의 아들 여로보암이 걸었던 길을 그대로 따랐던 것이다.
