- Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
- Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?
- I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
- For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
- And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.

- 에돔에서 온 이분은 누구신가? 붉게 물든 옷을 걸치고 보스라에서 온 이분은 누구신가? 위엄찬 옷을 입고 위세를 떨치며 저벅저벅 걸어온 이분은 누구신가? "나는 구원을 약속하는 자, 도울 힘이 많은 자이다."
- "어쩌다가 당신 옷에 붉은 물이 들었습니까? 당신 옷은 마치 포도주틀을 밟다가 물든 것 같군요."
- "나는 혼자서 술틀을 밟아야 했다. 나의 백성 가운데 나를 돕는 자가 아무도 없었다. 너무나도 노여워, 나는 그것들을 마구 밟았다. 그들의 피가 내 옷에 튀어 나의 옷이 온통 피투성이가 된 것이다.
- 원수갚을 날을 정하고 벼르고 있다가 마침내 복수할 해가 왔는데,
- 아무리 둘러보아도 나를 돕는 자가 없었다. 놀랍게도 내 편을 드는 자는 하나도 없었다. 나는 이 팔밖에 믿을 것이 없었고 나의 분노만이 나를 밀어주었다.

- And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
- I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
- For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.
- In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
- But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.

- 너무나도 노여워 백성들을 짓밟고 너무나도 화가 나서 그것들을 짓바수어 그 피를 땅에 흘린 것이다."
- 야훼께서 이루신 고마우신 일, 야훼께서 이루신 놀라우신 일들을 나는 노래하리라. 야훼, 너무나도 친절하신 분, 그 크신 자비와 끝없는 선하심으로 베풀어주신 은혜를 나 어찌 잊으랴?
- "그들이야말로 나의 백성이다. 배신을 모르는 나의 아들들이다." 이렇게 선포하시고 온갖 곤경에서 그들을 구해 주셨다.
- 누구를 대신 파견하거나 천사를 보내지 아니하시고 당신께서 친히 오시어 그들을 구해 내셨다. 다만 그들을 사랑하시고 가엾게 여기시어 건져내셨다. 기나긴 세월을 하루같이 그들을 쳐들어 안아주셨다.
- 그런데도 그들은 거역하였다. 그의 극진하신 마음을 아프게 해드렸다. 그래서 그는 그들의 원수가 되시어 몸소 그들과 싸우셨다.

- Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?
- That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
- That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?
- As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
- Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?

- 그들은 그의 종 모세의 시절을 생각하며 말하였다. "당신의 양떼를 맡은 목자를 바다에서 이끌어내신 이가 어디에 계신가? 당신의 거룩한 영을 그에게 넣어주신 이가 지금 어디에 계신가?
- 당신의 자랑스러운 팔로 모세의 오른팔을 잡아 이끄시며 백성들 앞에서 물을 가르시어 영원한 명성을 떨치신 이,
- 말이 벌판을 달리듯이 깊은 바다를 건너게 하신 이가 지금 어디에 계신가?
- 그들은 골짜기를 내려가는 가축떼처럼 넘어지지도 않았다던데......."
- 하늘 높은 곳에서 굽어보십시오. 당신께서 사시는 거룩하고 화려한 집에서 굽어보십시오. 당신의 열성과 권능은 어찌 되었습니까? 그 연민의 정과 자비심은 어찌 되었습니까? 억지로 무심한 체하지 마십시오.

- Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
- O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.
- The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.
- We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.

- 당신이야말로 우리의 아버지이십니다. 아브라함은 우리를 모른다 하고, 이스라엘은 우리를 외면하여도, 당신, 야훼께서 우리의 아버지이십니다. 우리는 예전부터 당신을 '우리를 구원하시는 이'라고 불러왔습니다.
- 야훼여, 어찌하여 우리로 하여금 당신의 길을 떠나 헤매게 하셨습니까? 어찌하여 우리의 마음을 굳어지게 하시어 당신을 두려워할 줄도 모르게 만드셨습니까? 당신의 종들을 생각하시고 당신의 유산인 이 지파들을 생각하시고 돌아와 주십시오.
- 어찌하여 악인들이 당신의 성소를 침입합니까? 어찌하여 우리의 원수들이 당신의 성소를 짓밟습니까?
- 당신께서 우리를 다스리지 아니하시므로 당신의 백성이라는 이름을 잃은 지 이미 오래 되었습니다. 아, 하늘을 쪼개시고 내려오십시오. 산들이 당신 앞에서 떨 것입니다.
