에스겔 7:1-9:11

하나님께서는 우상을 숭배한 유다 백성들을 심판하여 재앙을 내리심으로 백성들이 큰 고통과 슬픔을 당하고 이방의 포로로 끌려가게 될 것이라고 예고하셨다. 에스겔은 이상중에 야웨의 이끌림을 받아 예루살렘 성전으로 가서 그 곳에서 버젓이 우상 숭배가 자행되고 있는 것을 보았다. 하나님께서는 이에 대한 심판으로 잔혹한 살육이 있을 것을 말씀하시며 특별히 구원받을 자들을 선별하셨다.
 
  임박한 심판(7:1-7:27)    
 
  1. Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
  2. Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.
  3. Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.
  4. And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
  5. Thus saith the Lord GOD; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come.
  1. 야훼께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너 사람아, 전하여라. 이것은 주 야훼가 이스라엘 땅에게 이르는 말이다. '끝장이다. 동서남북 어디에서나 끝장이다.
  3. 이제 너 예루살렘도 끝장이다. 내가 너에게 나의 분노를 쏟으리라. 너의 행실대로 죄를 주고 네 모든 발칙한 죄를 벌하리라.
  4. 너를 가엾게 여기지도 아니하고 불쌍히 보지도 아니하리라. 네 가운데서 벌어지고 있는 온갖 발칙한 짓들로 인하여 내가 너에게 벌을 내리고야 말리라. 그제야 너희는 내가 야훼임을 알 것이다.
  5. 주 야훼가 말한다. 재난이 꼬리를 물고 들이닥친다.
  1. An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.
  2. The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.
  3. Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.
  4. And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth.
  5. Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.
  1. 끝장이다. 너는 끝장이다. 끝장이 나고야 만다.
  2. 이 땅에 사는 사람들아, 네 운이 다하였다. 올 때가 오고야 말았다. 그 날이 다가왔다. 먼 훗날 이야기가 아니다. 이미 코앞에 들이닥쳤다.
  3. 이제 내 노여움을 터뜨릴 날이 다가왔다. 나는 분을 풀어야 하겠다. 네 행실대로 너에게 죄를 주어야 하겠다. 너의 온갖 발칙한 죄를 벌해야 하겠다.
  4. 나는 너를 가엾게 여기지도 아니하고 불쌍히 보지도 아니하리라. 네 가운데서 벌어지고 있는 온갖 발칙한 짓들로 인하여 내가 너에게 벌을 내리고야 말리라. 그제야 너를 벌하는 것이 나 야훼임을 알게 될 것이다.
  5. 보아라, 그 날이 왔다. 이제 될 대로 다 되었다. 네 운이 다하였다. 부정 부패가 걷잡을 수 없이 일어나고 거만한 자들이 활개를 치며
  1. Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of their's: neither shall there be wailing for them.
  2. The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
  3. For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they were yet alive: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.
  4. They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
  5. The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.
  1. 폭력배가 일어나 학정을 편다.
  2. 올 때가 왔다. 그 날이 오고야 말았다. 내 노여움이 이 온 무리를 휩쓸 것이다. 무엇을 샀다고 하여 기뻐할 것도 없고 팔았다고 하여 슬퍼할 것도 없다.
  3. 판 사람이 죽기 전에 판 것을 도로 찾지 못할 것이다.... 사람들은 하나같이 제 죄 때문에 제 목숨을 부지하지 못할 것이다.
  4. 나의 큰 노여움이 그 온 무리를 휩쓸 것이다. 준비가 다 되어 나팔을 불건만 아무도 전쟁에 나갈 용기를 내지 못하리라.
  5. 밖에서는 칼이 번뜩이고 집 안에서는 염병과 기근이 노린다. 들에 있는 자는 칼에 맞아 죽고, 성 안에 있는 자는 기근과 염병으로 쓰러져 죽을 것이다.
  1. But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.
  2. All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water.
  3. They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.
  4. They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
  5. As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.
  1. 산으로 도망친 자도 모두 제 죄벌을 받아 비둘기처럼 신음하며 죽을 것이다.
  2. 사람마다 맥이 풀리고 오줌을 싸서 무릎이 젖고
  3. 몸에는 삼베를 걸치고 부들부들 떨면서 머리를 깎이고 창피하여 얼굴을 들지 못하게 되리라.
  4. 금과 은이 그들을 건져주지 못하고 실컷 배를 불려주지도 못하리라. 이 백성은 자기네를 죄에 빠뜨리는 올가미였던 것들, 은은 밖에 내버리고 금은 보기도 싫은 오물로 여기리라.
  5. 자랑으로 여기던 아름다운 장신구들은 그것으로 보기에도 역겨운 신상, 구역질나는 우상을 만들었었으므로 내 백성은 그것들이 꼴도 보기 싫게 될 것이다.
  1. And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.
  2. My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it.
  3. Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.
  4. Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.
  5. Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
  1. 그것들을 외국인에게 노략질당하고 세상의 못된 자들에게 전리품으로 털려 천대받게 하리라.
  2. 그렇게도 소중하던 이 성읍을 더럽히게 내버려두리라. 불한당들이 쳐들어와 이 성을 더럽히고
  3. 사람을 마구 죽일 것이다. 온 나라에서 유혈 참극이 벌어지고 있고 이 성에서는 폭력이 판을 치고 있기 때문이다.
  4. 내가 못된 민족들을 불러들여 이 백성의 집을 모두 차지하게 할 것이다. 세력 있는 자들의 거만을 꺾고 그들의 성소들을 짓밟게 하리라.
  5. 공포에 떨며 어디에 가면 편안할까 하여도 편안한 곳이 없으리라.
  1. Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour; then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the ancients.
  2. The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
  1. 엎친 데 덮친 격으로 불길한 소문이 꼬리를 물고 들려오는데도 예언자는 보여줄 것이 없고 사제는 가르쳐줄 것이 없고 장로들은 일러줄 말이 없을 것이다.
  2. 왕은 통곡하고 수령은 실망 낙담하고, 지주들은 손이 떨려 어쩔 줄을 모르게 되리라. 내가 그들을 그 행실대로 다루고 버릇대로 심판하리라. 그제야 사람들은 내가 야훼임을 알리라.'"
 
  성전 내의 우상 숭배(8:1-8:18)    
 
  1. And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.
  2. Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.
  3. And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
  4. And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.
  5. Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
  1. 제육년 유월 오일, 나는 집에 앉아 있었다. 유다 장로들이 내 앞에 앉아 있는데 주 야훼께서 손을 내밀어 나를 사로잡으셨다.
  2. 내 눈에 비친 그 모습은 사람같이 보였으나, 허리 아래 모양은 불 같았고, 허리 위는 놋쇠처럼 환히 빛나는 것이었다.
  3. 그분이 손같이 생긴 것을 내미시어 내 머리를 잡으시자, 그의 기운이 나를 공중에 번쩍 들어올렸다. 나는 신비스런 발현 속에서 예루살렘으로 들려갔다. 그 곳은 질투를 불러일으키는 우상이 자리잡고 있는 북향 안문 문간이었다.
  4. 거기에서 나는 전에 들판에서 본 것 같은 이스라엘의 하느님의 영광을 보았다.
  5. 거기에서 "너 사람아, 어서 북쪽을 바라보아라." 하시는 그분의 말씀을 듣고 북쪽으로 눈을 돌리니, 제단 문 북쪽 초입에 질투를 불러일으키는 우상이 있었다.
  1. He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.
  2. And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.
  3. Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
  4. And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
  5. So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
  1. 그분은 "너 사람아, 사람들이 무엇을 하고 있는지 보이느냐?" 하시면서 나에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "이스라엘 집안이 여기에서 하고 있는 짓은 너무나도 역겨운 짓들이다. 이런 행위로 그들은 나를 내 성소에서 멀리 떠나게 하였다. 너는 여기에서 이 외에도 그들이 하는 역겨운 일을 더 보게 되리라."
  2. 그분은 나를 뜰로 들어가는 문간으로 데리고 가셨다. 거기에 가보니, 담에 구멍이 하나 있었다.
  3. 그분이 나에게 "너 사람아, 담을 뚫어라." 하시기에 그 담을 뚫으니, 문이 하나 보였다.
  4. 그분이 말씀하셨다. "들어가 보아라. 사람들이 거기에서 흉악하고 발칙한 짓들을 하고 있을 것이다." 그의 말씀을 따라
  5. 들어가 보니 온갖 길짐승과 추한 짐승의 그림과 이스라엘 가문이 섬기는 온갖 우상이 그 담 사면에 돌아가며 새겨져 있는 것이었다.
  1. And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
  2. Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.
  3. He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
  4. Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
  5. Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
  1. 그리고 이스라엘 가문의 장로 칠십 명이 사반의 아들 야자니야를 가운데 세우고 그 우상들 앞에 서서 저마다 손에 향로를 들고 있는데 향연이 향기를 풍기며 올라가고 있었다.
  2. 그분이 나에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 이스라엘 가문의 장로들이 따로따로 신상을 그려놓은 컴컴한 방에서 하고 있는 짓들을 보았느냐? 저들은 내가 이미 저희를 돌보지 않고 이미 이 땅을 버렸다고들 생각하고 있다."
  3. 그리고는 "이들이 하는 역겨운 짓을 또 보아라." 하시며
  4. 나를 야훼의 성전 북향 정문 문간으로 데리고 가셨다. 거기에서는 여인들이 앉아서 담무즈 신의 죽음을 곡하고 있었다.
  5. "너 사람아, 보았느냐?" 하시면서 그분은 나에게 말씀하셨다. "이보다 더 역겨운 짓을 또 보아라."
  1. And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
  2. Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
  3. Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
  1. 그리고는 나를 야훼의 성전 안마당으로 데리고 가셨다. 거기 야훼의 성전 정문간, 현관과 제단 사이에 사람 이십오 명 가량이 야훼의 성전을 등지고 동쪽을 향하여 해를 보며 절하고 있었다.
  2. "너 사람아, 보았느냐?" 하시면서 그분은 나에게 말씀하셨다. "유다 가문이 여기에서 이런 역겨운 짓을 하는 것을 어찌 작은 일이라 하겠느냐? 이러고도 부족해서 그들은 불법이 판을 치는 세상을 만들었다. 그래서 나의 화만 돋우어주었다. 저렇게 나뭇가지를 코에 갖다 대고 있지 않느냐?
  3. 나도 이제는 화나는 대로 하리라. 가엾게 여기지도 아니하고 불쌍히 보지도 아니하리라. 그들이 내 귀가 찢어지도록 소리를 질러도 들어주지 아니하리라."
 
  예루살렘에 내릴 심판(9:1-9:11)    
 
  1. He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
  2. And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.
  3. And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;
  4. And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
  5. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
  1. 그리고 큰소리로 외치시는 그분의 음성을 나는 들었다. "이 도시를 벌할 자들아, 모두들 두드려 부술 연장을 손에 들고 나오너라."
  2. 그러자 북쪽에 있는 높은 문에서 사람 여섯이 나왔다. 그들은 모두 손에 망치를 들고 있었는데 그 중 한 사람은 모시옷을 입고, 허리에는 서기관의 필묵통을 차고 있었다. 그들이 들어와서 놋제단 곁에 서자,
  3. 이스라엘의 하느님의 영광이 자리잡고 계시던 거룹에서 떠올라 성전 문턱으로 나오시어 모시옷을 입고 필묵통을 허리에 찬 그 사람을 부르시며
  4. 말씀하셨다. "너는 예루살렘 시내를 돌아다니며, 그 안에서 일어나는 모든 발칙한 짓을 역겨워하여 탄식하며 우는 사람들의 이마에 표를 해주어라."
  5. 그리고 나머지 사람들에게는 내가 듣는 데서 이렇게 이르셨다. "너희는 저 사람 뒤를 따라 도시 안을 돌아다니며 마구 쳐라. 가엾게 여기지도 말고 불쌍히 보지도 마라.
  1. Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
  2. And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
  3. And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
  4. Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.
  5. And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.
  1. 노인도, 장정도, 처녀도, 어린이도, 부인도 죽여 없애라. 그러나 이마에 표가 있는 사람은 건드리지 마라. 우선 나의 성소에서부터 시작하여라." 그러자 그들은 성전 앞에 있는 장로들부터 치기 시작하였다.
  2. 그분이 그들에게 이르셨다. "울 안에 시체가 가득하도록 성전을 더럽혀라. 그리고 나가라." 그들은 시내로 나가 거기에서 사람들을 쳐죽였다.
  3. 그들이 사람들을 쳐죽이는 동안, 나는 홀로 남아서 앞으로 쓰러져 호소하였다. "아, 주 야훼여, 예루살렘이 하는 짓이 아무리 노여우시기로, 이스라엘의 얼마 남지 않은 사람마저 이렇게 다 없애실 작정이십니까?"
  4. 그분이 대답하셨다. "이스라엘과 유다 가문의 죄악이 얼마나 크고 무서운지 너는 아느냐? 야훼가 이 나라를 내버리고, 돌보지도 않는다고 하며 온 나라에 유혈 참극을 벌인 것들, 부정 부패로 이 수도를 채운 것들,
  5. 어떻게 내가 그들을 가엾게 여기고 불쌍히 보겠느냐? 그 소행대로 벌을 내리지 않을 수 없다."
  1. And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
  1. 그러는데 모시옷을 입고 허리에 필묵통을 찬 그 사람이 돌아와서 "명령하신 대로 다 하였습니다." 하고 아뢰었다.
