- He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
- The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
- If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
- If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
- If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

- 23남 해칠 궁리만 하는 자를 사람들은 모략가라 부른다.
- 어리석은 자의 계획은 못된 일뿐이다. 거만한 자는 사람들의 미움을 산다.
- 24어려운 일을 당해서 힘을 내지 않으면 나는 힘을 잃고 만다.
- 25죽을 자리로 끌려가는 사람을 건져내고, 죽음에 말려드는 사람을 구하여라.
- 그런 사람을 모른다고 하지 마라. 사람의 마음을 헤아리시는 이가 어찌 모르시랴? 네 목숨을 지켜보시는 이가 모르시랴? 그는 행실대로 사람에게 갚으신다.

- My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:
- So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
- Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

- 26내 아들아, 꿀은 좋은 것이니 먹어두어라. 송이꿀은 입에 다니 먹어두어라.
- 지혜도 네 영혼에는 그와 같은 줄 알아라. 지혜를 얻으면 앞날이 열리고 희망이 끊기지 아니하리라.
- 27착한 사람의 보금자리를 노리지 말고 그가 사는 집을 망쳐놓지 마라.
