예레미야 3:1-4:31

 하나님께서는 하나님을 떠나 우상을 숭배한 유다가 회개하고 돌아오면 그들을 용서하시고 복 주시겠다고 말씀하셨다. 그러나 유다는 이를 거부하고 회개하지 않아 하나님의 재앙을 초래하였다. 예레미야는 묵시를 통해, 임박한 재앙의 모습을 보고 슬퍼하였다.
  
  회개 촉구(3:1-3:25)    
 
  1. They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.
  2. Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
  3. Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
  4. Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
  5. Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
  1. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '만일 어떤 남자가 자기 아내와 이혼을 하고 또 그 아내는 그를 떠나 다른 남자와 재혼을 했다면 본남편이 그녀에게 다시 돌아갈 수 있겠느냐? 만일 그렇게 한다면 그 딸이 완전히 더럽혀지지 않겠느냐? 이스라엘아, 네가 많은 무리와 음란한 짓을 하고서도 나에게 돌아오려고 하느냐?
  2. 눈을 들어 산언덕을 바라보아라. 그가 창녀처럼 행하지 않은 곳이 한군데라도 있느냐? 너는 사막에 있는 아랍 사람처럼 길가에 앉아 사람을 기다리며 더러운 매춘 행위로 이 땅을 더럽혔다.
  3. 그래서 소나기도 없고 봄비도 내리지 앓는다. 그런데도 너는 창녀처럼 뻔뻔스럽게 부끄러운 줄도 모르는구나.
  4. 바로 얼마 전만 해도 너는 '나의 아버지시여, 아버지는 내가 어렸을 때부터 나를 사랑하셨는데
  5. 항상 노하기만 하시겠습니까? 아버지의 분노는 영원히 계속될 것입니까?' 하고 말하지 않았느냐? 너는 말은 그렇게 하면서도 악이란 악은 다 행하였다.'
  1. The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
  2. And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
  3. And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
  4. And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
  5. And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.
  1. 요시야왕 때에 여호와께서 또 나에게 말씀하셨다. '네가 신의 없는 이스라엘이 행한 것을 보았느냐? 그가 모든 높은 산과 푸른 나무 아래서 창녀처럼 행하였다.
  2. 나는 이스라엘이 이 모는 일을 행한 후에도 언젠가는 나에게 돌아오리라고 생각했으나 그는 돌아오지 않았다. 그리고 그의 신의 없는 자매 유다도 그 모든 것을 보았다.
  3. 신의 없는 이스라엘이 간음하므로 내가 이혼 증서를 주고 그를 내어쫓았으나 신의 없는 그의 자매 유다는 그것을 보고서도 두려워하지 않고 그도 가서 간음하는 것을 내가 보았다.
  4. 그는 돌과 나무로 만든 우상에게 절하는 것을 가볍게 여기고 간음하여 이 땅을 더럽혔다.
  5. 이 모든 일을 행하고서도 신의 없는 이스라엘의 자매 유다는 나에게 진심으로 돌아오지 않았다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
  1. And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
  2. Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.
  3. Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.
  4. Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
  5. And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
  1. 여호와께서 다시 나에게 말씀하셨다. '신의 없는 이스라엘은 그래도 거짓된 유다보다 낫다.
  2. 너는 가서 북쪽 이스라엘을 향하여 나 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 외쳐라. '신의 없는 이스라엘아. 돌아오너라. 이제는 내가 노한 얼굴로 너를 보지 않겠다. 나는 자비로운 자이다. 내가 너에게 영원히 노하지는 않겠다.
  3. 너는 다만 네 죄를 인정하고 네 하나님 여호와를 배반한 것과 모든 푸른나무 아래서 이방 신들에게 절하고 내 말에 순종하지 않은 것을 고백하여라.
  4. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '신의 없는 백성들아, 돌아오너라. 나는 너희 주인이다. 내가 너희 중 각 성에서 하나를 택하고 각 집안에서 둘을 택하여 시온으로 데려올 것이며
  5. 내가 또 내 마음에 드는 목자들을 너희에게 줄 것이니 그들이 너희를 지혜롭게 인도할 것이다.
  1. And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
  2. At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
  3. In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
  4. But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.
  5. Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
  1. 나 여호와가 말한다. 너희가 이 땅에서 다시 번성하여 인구 수가 많아질 때에는 사람들이 내 법궤를 다시 말하지 않을 것이며 그것을 생각하지도 않을 것이다. 그들은 그것을 기억하지 않을 것이며 또 그것을 아쉬워하거나 다시 만들지도 않을 것이다.
  2. 그 때에는 사람들이 예루살렘을 '여호와의 보좌'라고 부를 것이며 모든 민족이 나에게 경배하기 위해서 예루살렘에 모이고 그들이 다시는 마음의 악한 고집대로 행하지 않을 것이다.
  3. 그때 유다와 이스라엘 백성이 포로가 되었던 북쪽 나라에서 함께 나와 내가 너희 조상들에게 준 땅으로 돌아올 것이다.
  4. 나는 너희가 내 자녀로 여기에 있었으면 얼마나 좋을까 하고 생각하였다. 나는 세상에서 제일 아름다운 이 땅을 너희에게 주기로 계획하였고 너희가 나를 아버지라고 부르기를 기대하고 있었으며 너희가 다시는 나를 떠나지 않을 것으로 생각하였다.
  5. 그러나 이스라엘 백성들아, 너희는 마치 신의를 저버리고 자기 남편을 떠나는 아내와 같이 나에게 신실하지 못하였다.'
  1. A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.
  2. Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.
  3. Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.
  4. For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
  5. We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.
  1. 산언덕에서 우는 소리가 들리니 이것은 이스라엘 자손들이 죄악의 길로 행하며 자기들의 하나님 여호와를 잊어버린 것을 생각하고 울며 부르짖는 소리이다.
  2. 신의 없는 자들아, 돌아오너라. 내가 너희를 신실한 자로 만들어 주겠다.' '예, 우리가 주께로 갑니다. 주는 우리 하나님 여호와이십니다.
  3. 우리가 산 언덕에서 떠들어대며 우상을 섬겼으나 헛것이었습니다. 참으로 이스라엘의 구원은 우리 하나님 여호와에게만 있습니다.
  4. 우리가 어렸을 때부터 수치스러운 신들이 우리 조상들의 모든 소유, 곧 양떼와 소떼와 아들들과 딸들을 삼켜 버렸습니다.
  5. 우리는 부끄러워 얼굴도 들 수 없습니다. 이것은 우리와 우리 조상들이 어렸을 때부터 우리 하나님 여호와께 범죄하고 우리 하나님 여호와께 순종하지 않았기 때문입니다.'
 
  재난 예고(4:1-4:31)    
 
  1. If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.
  2. And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.
  3. For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
  4. Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
  5. Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.
  1. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '이스라엘아, 네가 돌아오려거든 나에게 돌아오너라. 네가 만일 내가 지긋지긋하게 여기는 우상을 내 앞에서 제거하고 마음이 흔들리지 않으며
  2. 살아 있는 나 여호와의 이름으로 맹세하고 또 네가 진실하며 정직하고 깨끗하게 살면 세상 모든 나라가 너를 보고 나에게 와서 복을 구하며 나를 찬양할 것이다.'
  3. 여호와께서 유다와 예루살렘 사람들에게 이렇게 말씀하신다. '너희는 묵은 땅을 갈고, 가시덤불 속에 씨를 뿌리지 말아라.
  4. 유다와 예루살렘 사람들아, 너희는 마음을 깨끗이 하고 너희 자신을 나 여호와에게 바쳐라. 그렇지 않으면 너희가 행한 악한 일에 대하여 나의 분노가 불같이 일어나 너희를 태울 것이니 그 불을 끌 자가 없을 것이다.'
  5. 너희는 유다와 예루살렘에 선포하여 온 땅이 나팔을 불게 하고 또 큰 소리로'자, 모여라. 요새 성으로 들어가자!' 하고 외치게 하라.
  1. Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.
  2. The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
  3. For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.
  4. And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.
  5. Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.
  1. 그리고 너희는 시온으로 가는 길을 표시하고 지체하지 말고 안전하게 피하라. 내가 북쪽에서 재앙과 큰 멸망을 불러 일으킬 것이다.'
  2. 사자가 숲속에서 나오듯 세상을 멸망시킬 자가 나와서 너희 땅을 황폐하게 하려고 달려오고 있으니 너희 성들은 폐허가 되어 주민이 없을 것이다.
  3. 그러므로 너희는 삼베 옷을 입고 통곡하라. 여호와께서 아직 분노를 우리에게서 돌이키지 않으셨다.
  4. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '그 날에는 왕과 신하들이 낙심할 것이며 제사장들과 예언자들이 깜짝 놀랄 것이다.'
  5. 그때 내가 이렇게 말하였다. '주 여호와여, 주께서는 이 백성과 예루살렘을 완전히 속이셨습니다. '너희에게 평화가 있으리라.'고 말씀하셨는데 오히려 칼이 우리 목에 와 닿았습니다.'
  1. At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,
  2. Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.
  3. Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.
  4. O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?
  5. For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.
  1. 그 때에 이 백성과 예루살렘이 이런 말을 듣게 될 것이다. '사막에서 뜨거운 바람이 내 백성을 향하여 불 것이다. 그것은 겨나 날려보내는 산들바람이 아니라
  2. 그보다 훨씬 강한 것으로 내가 일으키는 바람이다. 이제 내가 그들에게 심판을 선언한다.
  3. 보라, 원수가 구름처럼 나오는데 그의 전차는 회오리바람 같고 그의 말들은 독수리보다 빠르구나. 우리에게 화가 미쳤다! 이제 우리는 망했다!
  4. 예루살렘아, 네 마음의 악을 씻어 버려라. 그러면 구원을 얻을 것이다. 네가 악한 생각을 언제까지 품고 있겠느냐?
  5. 단과 에브라임산에서 재앙을 선언한다.
  1. Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.
  2. As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD.
  3. Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.
  4. My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.
  5. Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.
  1. 너희는 적들이 먼 땅에서 와서 유다 성들을 향하여 소리를 지른다고 온 세상에 알리고 예루살렘에 선포하라.
  2. 그들이 밭을 지키는 자들처럼 예루살렘을 포위할 것이다. 이것은 이 백성이 나를 거역하였기 때문이다. 나 여호와의 말이다.
  3. 네 행위가 바로 이런 것을 불러들였다. 이것은 네가 받을 형벌이니 그 고통이 네 마음에까지 미칠 것이다.'
  4. 아 괴롭구나! 괴롭구나! 내 마음이 괴롭구나! 내가 나팔 소리와 전쟁소리를 들었으니 심장이 두근거려 견딜 수 없구나.
  5. 재앙에 재앙이 따르고 온 땅이 황폐해지며, 순식간에 모든 집들이 파괴되었다.
  1. How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?
  2. For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
  3. I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
  4. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
  5. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
  1. 내가 언제까지 저 깃발을 보며 나팔 소리를 들어야 하는가?
  2. 내 백성은 미련하여 나를 알지 못하며 지각 없는 자식과 같아서 그들에게는 총명함이 없구나. 그들이 악을 행하는 데는 약삭빠르면서도 선을 행하는 데는 무지하다.'
  3. 내가 땅을 보니 형태를 알아볼 수 없을 정도로 쑥밭이 되었으며 하늘을 보니 거기도 빛이 없고
  4. 산들을 보니 높고 낮은 산들이 진동하고 움직이는구나.
  5. 내가 보니 사람들도 없고 공중의 모든 새들도 다 날아가 버렸으며
  1. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
  2. For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
  3. For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.
  4. The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.
  5. And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.
  1. 좋은 땅이 황무지가 되었고 그 모든 성들이 여호와의 무서운 분노로 무너져 버렸다.
  2. 이것은 여호와의 말씀이다. '온 땅이 황폐할 것이나 내가 완전히 못 쓰게 하지는 않을 것이다.
  3. 이것 때문에 땅이 슬퍼할 것이며 하늘이 어두워질 것이다. 그러나 내가 이미 말하였고 작정하였으니 후회하거나 돌이키지 않을 것이다.'
  4. 말을 타고 활을 쏘는 자들의 달려오는 소리에 모든 사람이 도망하여 숲속으로 달아나는 자도 있고 바위에 기어오르는 자도 있으며 성들은 버림을 받아 사람이 살지 않는구나.
  5. 처량하게 된 자여, 네가 무엇을 하느냐? 네가 어째서 붉은 옷을 입고 금으로 장식하며 눈을 그려 꾸미느냐? 네가 아무리 아름답게 꾸밀지라도 헛된 일이다. 너를 사랑하던 자들이 너를 멸시하며 네 생명을 찾고 있다.
  1. For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.
  1. 해산하는 여인의 소리 같고 첫아이를 낳는 여인의 비명 소리 같은 것이 들리니 이것은 예루살렘이 숨을 헐떡거리며 손을 펴고 '나에게 화가 미쳤다! 내가 살인자들 앞에서 실신해 가는구나.' 하고 부르짖는 소리이다.
