예레미야 26:1-27:22

 패역한 유다 백성들에게 하나님의 심판을 선포하면서 회개를 촉구했다는 이유로 예레미야는 유다 지도자들로부터 위협을 받았으나 아히감의 보호로 죽음을 면했다. 예레미야는 줄과 멍에를 목에 얹고서 다시 한 번 이방 열국에게 바벨론에 항복할 것을 권면했으며, 시드기야 왕과 유다 백성들에게 거짓 선지자들의 말에 속지 말고 바벨론에 항복할 것을 권고했다.
  
  핍박받는 예레미야(26:1-26:24)    
 
  1. In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word from the LORD, saying,
  2. Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD's house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:
  3. If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
  4. And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
  5. To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;
  1. 요시야의 아들인 여호야김이 유다 왕이 된 지 얼마 되지 않아 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너는 성전 뜰에 서서 유다의 여러 성에서 경배하러 오는 모든 사람들에게 내가 명령한 모든 것을 한 마디도 빼놓지 말고 그대로 선포하라.
  3. 어쩌면 그들이 듣고 악한 길에서 돌아설지도 모른다. 만일 그들이 그렇게 하면 내가 그들의 악한 행위에 대하여 재앙을 내리기로 한 나의 뜻을 돌이킬 것이다.
  4. 너는 그들에게 나 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 일러라. '너희가 만일 내 말을 듣지 않고 내가 너희에게 준 법을 지키지 않으며
  5. 또 너희가 지금까지 한 것처럼 내가 계속 너희에게 보낸 나의 종 예언자들의 말을 듣지 않으면
  1. Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.
  2. So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.
  3. Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.
  4. Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.
  5. When the princes of Judah heard these things, then they came up from the king's house unto the house of the LORD, and sat down in the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house.
  1. 내가 이 성전을 실로의 성막처럼 되게 하고 이 성을 온 세상의 저줏거리가 되게 할 것이다.'
  2. 제사장들과 예언자들과 모든 백성들은 내가 성전에서 하는 말을 다 듣고 있었다.
  3. 그러나 여호와께서 명령하신 모든 말씀을 내가 다 전하자 그들은 나를 붙들고 '너는 죽어야 하겠다.
  4. 어째서 네가 여호와의 이름을 빌려 이 성전이 실로의 성막처럼 되고 이 성이 멸망하여 성 안에 살 사람이 없을 것이라고 예언하느냐?' 하고 외치며 모두 내 주위에 몰려들었다.
  5. 유다의 대신들이 이 일을 듣고 왕궁에서 성전으로 올라와 성전의 '새 문' 입구에 자리를 잡고 앉았다.
  1. Then spake the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
  2. Then spake Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.
  3. Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
  4. As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you.
  5. But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
  1. 그때 제사장들과 예언자들이 대신들과 모든 백성들에게 '이 사람은 죽어야 마땅합니다. 여러분들도 다 들었겠지만 이 사람은 우리 성이 멸망할 것이라고 예언한 자입니다.' 하였다.
  2. 그래서 나는 모든 대신들과 백성들에게 이렇게 말하였다. '여호와께서 나를 보내셔서 이 성전과 이 성에 대하여 여러분이 들은 그 모든 것을 예언하게 하셨습니다.
  3. 그러므로 이제 여러분은 여러분의 생활 태도와 행실을 고치고 여러분의 하나님 여호와께 순종하십시오. 그러면 여호와께서 뜻을 돌이켜 여러분에 대하여 선언하신 재앙을 내리지 않으실 것입니다.
  4. 내가 여러분의 손 안에 있으니 여러분의 생각에 좋을 대로 하십시오.
  5. 그러나 이것만은 여러분이 분명히 알아야 합니다. 만일 여러분이 나를 죽이면 죄 없는 사람을 죽이고 피흘린 그 책임이 여러분과 이 성과 이 성에 사는 모든 사람들에게 돌아갈 것입니다. 이것은 나를 보내셔서 여러분에게 이 모든 말을 하게 하신 분이 바로 여호와이시기 때문입니다.'
  1. Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.
  2. Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spake to all the assembly of the people, saying,
  3. Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
  4. Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.
  5. And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjathjearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.
  1. 그때 대신들과 모든 백성이 제사장들과 예언자들에게 말하였다. '이 사람을 죽여서는 안 되오. 이 사람은 우리 하나님 여호와의 이름으로 말하고 있소'
  2. 그러자 그 땅의 장로 몇 사람이 일어나 군중들에게 말하였다.
  3. '유다 왕 히스기야 시대에 모레셋 사람 미가가 모든 유다 백성에게 전능하신 여호와의 말씀을 이렇게 예언한 적이 있습니다. '시온이 밭처럼 경작될 것이니 예루살렘은 폐허가 되고 성전 언덕에는 잡목 숲이 무성할 것이다.'
  4. 그때 히스기야왕과 유다 백성들이 미가를 죽였습니까? 아닙니다. 오히려 히스기야왕이 여호와를 두려워하여 여호와의 은혜를 구하므로 여호와께서 그들에게 내리겠다고 선언하신 재앙에 대하여 그 뜻을 돌이키지 않으셨습니까? 만일 우리가 예레미야를 죽인다면 우리는 무서운 재앙을 스스로 불러들이는 셈이 될 것입니다.'
  5. (이 외에도 여호와의 이름으로 예언한 또 한 사람의 예언자가 있었는데 그는 기럇-여아림 사람인 스마야의 아들 우리야였다. 그가 예레미야처럼 이 성과 이 땅에 대하여 예언했을 때
  1. And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: but when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt;
  2. And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, namely, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt.
  3. And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him unto Jehoiakim the king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.
  4. Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
  1. 여호야김왕은 그의 모든 군 지휘관들과 신하들과 함께 그의 말을 듣고 그를 죽이려고 하였다. 그래서 우리야는 그것을 듣고 두려워하여 이집트로 도망하였다.
  2. 그러나 여호야김왕은 악볼의 아들 엘라단과 몇 사람을 이집트로 보냈다.
  3. 그들이 우리야를 이집트에서 붙잡아 여호야김왕에게 데려오자 왕이 칼로 그를 쳐죽이고 그 시체를 평민의 묘실이 던져 넣었다.)

  바벨론의 멍에를 메라(27:1-27:22)    
 
  1. In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
  2. Thus saith the LORD to me; Make thee bonds and yokes, and put them upon thy neck,
  3. And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah;
  4. And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;
  5. I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.
  1. 요시야의 아들인 시드기야가 유다 왕이 된 지 얼마 되지 않아 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너는 여러 줄과 멍에를 만들어 네 목에 걸고
  3. 시드기야왕을 만나러 예루살렘에 온 사신들에게 그것을 주어 에돔과 모압과 암몬과 두로와 시돈 왕들에게 전하게 하고
  4. 그 사신들에게 이렇게 말하라. : 여러분은 여러분의 왕들에게 가서 전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말했다고 전하시오.
  5. '나는 큰 능력과 힘으로 땅과 그 위에 있는 사람과 짐승을 만들었다. 그래서 내가 원하는 사람에게는 누구에게나 땅을 주었다.
  1. And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.
  2. And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.
  3. And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
  4. Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:
  5. For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.
  1. 이제 내가 이 모든 땅을 나의 종인 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕에게 주었고 또 모든 들짐승들을 그의 소유로 주었다.
  2. 모든 나라들은 바빌로니아가 망할 때까지 그와 그의 아들과 그의 손자를 섬길 것이다. 그의 시대가 끝나게 되면 강대국들과 그 왕들이 바빌로니아를 정복하고 그를 자기들의 종으로 삼을 것이다.
  3. 나 여호와가 말한다. 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕을 섬기지 않거나 그의 멍에를 메지 않는 나라나 백성은 내가 느부갓네살왕을 통해 그들을 전멸시킬 때까지 전쟁과 기근과 질병으로 그들을 벌할 것이다.
  4. 너희는 바빌로니아 왕을 섬기지 않을 것이라고 말하는 너희 예언자나 말을 듣지 말아라.
  5. 그들은 너희에게 거짓 예언을 하여 너희를 너희 땅에서 멀리 떠나게 하는 자들이다. 너희가 만일 그들의 말을 들으면 내가 너희를 추방하고 망하게 할 것이다.
  1. But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the LORD; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.
  2. I spake also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.
  3. Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
  4. Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
  5. For I have not sent them, saith the LORD, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.
  1. 그러나 바빌로니아 왕의 멍에를 메고 그를 섬기는 나라에 대해서는 내가 그들을 자기들의 땅에 머물러 경작하며 그대로 살게 할 것이다.'
  2. 나는 또 유다의 시드기야왕에게도 이렇게 말하였다. '왕은 바빌로니아 왕에게 복종하여 그와 그 백성을 섬기십시오. 그러면 살 것입니다.
  3. 어째서 왕과 왕의 백성은 전쟁과 기근과 질병으로 죽으려고 하십니까? 여호와께서는 바빌로니아 왕을 섬기지 않는 나라를 그렇게 죽이시겠다고 말씀하셨습니다.
  4. 왕은 바빌로니아 왕을 섬기지 말라고 하는 예언자들의 말을 듣지 마십시오. 그들은 거짓 예언을 하는 자들입니다.
  5. 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. '내가 그들을 보내지 않았는데도 그들은 내 이름으로 거짓 예언을 하고 있다. 너희가 만일 그들의 말을 들으면 내가 너희를 이 땅에서 추방해 버리겠다. 너희와 너희에게 예언하는 예언자들이 다 같이 멸망할 것이다.'
  1. Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Hearken not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the LORD's house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
  2. Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste?
  3. But if they be prophets, and if the word of the LORD be with them, let them now make intercession to the LORD of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.
  4. For thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city.
  5. Which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;
  1. 그리고서 나는 제사장들과 모든 백성들에게 말하였다. '여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. '너희는 성전 기구들을 바빌로니아에서 다시 가져오게 될 것이라고 말하는 예언자들의 말을 듣지 말아라. 그들은 너희에게 거짓 예언을 하고 있다.
  2. 너희는 그들의 말을 듣지 말고 바빌로니아 왕을 섬겨라. 그러면 너희가 살게 될 것이다. 이 성이 황폐해져야 할 이유가 무엇이냐?
  3. 만일 그들이 진실한 예언자라면, 또 그들이 나 여호와의 말을 받은 것이 있다면 그들로 전능한 나 여호와에게 간구하게 하여 성전과 궁전에 남아 있는 기구들이 바빌로니아에 빼앗기지 않게 하라.'
  4. 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신 것은 느부갓네살왕이 유다 왕 여호야김의 아들 여호야긴과 유다와 예루살렘의 모든 귀족들을 바빌로니아로 사로잡아 갈 때 그가 성전에 기둥들과 놋으로 만든 거대한 물탱크와 여러 가지 받침들과 그 밖에 몇몇 성전 기구들을 남겨 두었기 때문입니다.
  5. (19절과 같음)
  1. Yea, thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem;
  2. They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the LORD; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.
  1. 전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 성전과 예루살렘 궁전에 남아 있는 기구들에 대하여 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
  2. 그것들이 바빌로니아로 옮겨질 것이며 내가 그것에 대해서 관심을 가질 때까지 그 기구들은 거기에 있을 것이다. 그 후에 내가 그것들을 옮겨 다시 이 곳에 두겠다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
