예레미야 44:15-46:28

 예레미야는 우상 숭배를 고집하는 일부 백성들에게 유다의 패망 원인이 우상 숭배였음을 깨우쳐 주면서, 그들이 하나님을 섬기지 못하게 될 것과 소수를 제외하고는 바벨론 왕에게 죽임을 당할 것을 예고하였다. 하나님은 예언을 기록한 뒤 낙심해 있던 바룩에게 재앙중에도 그의 생명을 보호해 주시겠다고 약속하셨다. 그리고 애굽이 바벨론에 의해 멸망하고 이스라엘이 구원될 것을 약속하셨다.
  
 
  1. Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
  2. As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.
  3. But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
  4. But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
  5. And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?
  1. 그때 자기 아내들이 다른 신들에게 분향하고 있다는 사실을 알고 있는 모든 남자들과 거기에 서 있는 모든 여자들, 곧 이집트 남쪽 지방에 사는 모든 백성들이 나에게 이렇게 말하였다.
  2. '우리는 당신이 여호와의 이름으로 하는 말을 듣지 않겠소.
  3. 우리는 우리가 하고 싶은 대로 하여 우리와 우리 조상들과 우리 왕들과 우리 지도자들이 유다 성들과 예루살렘 거리에서 행한 것처럼 하늘의 여왕에게 분향하고 그 앞에 술을 따라 제사를 드리겠소. 그 때에는 우리가 먹을 것이 많아 풍족하게 살며 재앙 같은 것도 당하지 않았는데
  4. 우리가 하늘의 여왕에게 분향하고 그에게 술을 따라 제사 드리던 일을 그친 후부터 우리는 모든 것이 부족하고 전쟁과 굶주림에 죽어가고 있소'
  5. 그러자 여자들이 덧붙여 말하였다. '우리가 하늘의 여왕에게 분향하고 그 앞에 술을 따르며 그 모양을 본떠서 과자를 만들어 제사지낼 때 우리 남편들의 승낙 없이 한 줄 아시오?'
  1. Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,
  2. The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind?
  3. So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.
  4. Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.
  5. Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:
  1. 그때 나는 그런 식으로 대답한 모든 남녀 백성들에게 이렇게 말하였다.
  2. '여러분은 여러분과 여러분의 조상들과 여러분의 왕들과 대신들과 유다의 모든 백성들이 유다의 성들과 예루살렘 거리에서 분향한 일을 여호와께서 모르시리라고 생각하십니까?
  3. 여호와께서는 여러분의 악한 행위와 더러운 소행을 더 이상 참으실 수 없어서 여러분의 땅을 오늘날처럼 사람이 살지 않는 황폐한 땅으로 만들어 놀람과 저주의 대상이 되게 하셨습니다.
  4. 여러분이 다른 신들에게 분향하고 여호와께 범죄하며 여호와께 복종하지 않고 여호와의 법과 규정과 모든 명령을 지키지 않았으므로 오늘날과 같은 이런 재앙이 여러분에게 내렸습니다.'
  5. 그리고서 나는 다시 남녀 모든 백성들에게 말하였다. '이집트 땅에 사는 유다 백성 여러분, 여호와의 말씀을 들으십시오.
  1. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
  2. Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.
  3. Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.
  4. Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or their's.
  5. And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:
  1. 전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. '너희와 너희 아내들은 하늘의 여왕에게 분향하고 그 앞에 술을 따라 제사를 지내겠다고 약속하고 그것을 행동으로 보여 주었다. 그러니 이제 너희는 가서 너희 약속이나 이행하여라.'
  2. 그러나 이집트 땅에 사는 유다 백성 여러분, 여호와의 말씀을 들으십시오. 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. : 내가 분명히 말하지만 이집트 땅에 사는 모든 유다 사람들 가운데 '살아 계신 주 여호와의 이름으로 맹세한다.' 하고 말할 자가 다시는 없을 것이다.
  3. 나는 너희에게 재앙을 내리고 복을 내리지 않겠다. 이집트 땅에 있는 모든 유다 사람들이 전쟁과 기근에 시달려 거의 전멸할 것이다.
  4. 그러나 너희 중에 소수의 사람들은 칼날을 피하여 이집트에서 유다 땅으로 돌아올 것이다. 그때 그 살아 남은 자들은 내 말이 성취되었는지 그들의 말이 성취되었는지 알게 될 것이다.
  5. 나 여호와가 말한다. 내가 이 곳에서 너희를 벌하고 파멸시키리라는 내 말이 이루어질 증거를 너희에게 보여 주겠다.
  1. Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaohhophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.
  1. 내가 유다 왕 시드기야를 그의 원수, 곧 그를 죽이려고 한 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살의 손에 넘겨 준 것처럼 이집트의 호브라왕을 그의 목숨을 노리는 원수들의 손에 넘겨 주겠다.'
 
  바룩에게 주신 약속(45:1-45:5)    
 
  1. The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
  2. Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch:
  3. Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.
  4. Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.
  5. And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
  1. 요시야의 아들인 유다의 여호야김왕 4년에 네리야의 아들 바룩이 내가 불러 준 모든 말을 책에 기록하였는데 그때 나는 바룩에게 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하신다고 일러 주었다.
  2. (1절과 같음)
  3. '바룩아, 너는 '아, 괴롭다. 여호와께서 나의 고통에 슬픔까지 더하셨으니 내가 탄식하다가 지쳐 평안을 얻지 못하는구나.' 하였다.
  4. 보라, 나 여호와는 온 땅에서 내가 세운 것을 헐고 내가 심은 것을 모조리 뽑아 버리겠다.
  5. 네가 네 자신을 위해서 큰 일을 추구하느냐? 너는 그런 것을 추구하지 말아라. 내가 모든 백성에게 재앙을 내리겠다. 그러나 네가 어디로 가든지 네 목숨만은 살아 남을 것이다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
 
  애굽에 대한 예언(46:1-46:28)    
 
  1. The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;
  2. Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.
  3. Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.
  4. Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, and put on the brigandines.
  5. Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD.
  1. 여호와께서는 나에게 여러 나라에 대하여 말씀하셨다.
  2. 이것은 이집트에 대한 말씀, 곧 요시야의 아들인 유다의 여호야김왕 4년에 유프라테스 강변의 갈그미스에서 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕에게 패한 이집트 느고왕의 군대에 대한 말씀이다.
  3. '너희는 크고 작은 방패를 들고 전쟁터로 진군하라.
  4. 너희는 말에 안장을 지워서 타고 투구를 쓰고 전열을 갖추며 너희 창을 갈고 갑옷을 입어라.'
  5. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '보라, 그들이 놀라 도망하고 있다. 그들의 용사들이 대패하여 뒤도 돌아보지 않고 급히 도망하니 두려움이 사방에 도사리고 있구나.'
  1. Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.
  2. Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?
  3. Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
  4. Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.
  5. For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
  1. 발이 빠른 자도 도망하지 못하며 용감한 자도 피하지 못하고 유프라테스강변 북쪽에서 다 쓰러지는구나.
  2. 저 나일강의 넘쳐 흐름과 밀어닥치는 강물의 파도와 같은 자 누구인가?
  3. 이집트는 나일강의 넘쳐 흐름과 밀어닥치는 강물의 파도와 같구나. 이집트가 일어나 온 땅을 덮어 버리고 성들과 그 백성을 쓸어 버리겠다고 말한다.
  4. 말들아, 달려라. 기병들아, 전차를 무섭게 몰아라. 용사들아, 진군하라. 방패 든 이디오피아 사람과 리비아 사람과 활을 쏘는 리디아 사람들아, 출전하라.
  5. 그 날은 전능하신 주 여호와의 날이다. 그 대적에게 원수를 갚는 복수의 날이다. 그의 칼이 만족을 얻을 때까지 그들을 삼키며 그들의 피를 마실 것이다. 이것은 전능하신 주 여호와께서 유프라테스 강변 북쪽 땅에서 많은 희생자들이 생기게 할 것이기 때문이다.
  1. Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.
  2. The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.
  3. The word that the LORD spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.
  4. Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee.
  5. Why are thy valiant men swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.
  1. 이집트 사람들아, 길르앗으로 올라가서 향유를 구하라. 너희가 아무리 약을 많이 써도 효과가 없을 것이며 낫지 않을 것이다.
  2. 모든 나라들이 너희 수치를 들었고 너희 부르짖음이 온 땅에 가득하였으니 너희 용사들이 서로 부딪쳐 함께 쓰러졌기 때문이다.
  3. 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕이 이집트를 치러 오는 일에 대하여 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  4. 너는 이집트와 믹돌과 멤피스와 다바네스에 이렇게 선포하라. '너희는 자기 위치를 지키고 대비하라. 칼이 너희를 다 삼켜 버릴 것이다.
  5. 어째서 너희 힘 센 아피스 신이 쓰러졌는가? 그가 일어설 수 없으니 여호와께서 그를 넘어뜨렸기 때문이다.'
  1. He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.
  2. They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.
  3. As I live, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.
  4. O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.
  5. Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north.
  1. 너희 병사들이 계속 넘어지고 쓰러지니 너희 외국 용병들이 '우리 민족과 고향 땅으로 돌아가서 원수의 칼날을 피하자' 하는구나.
  2. 너희는 이집트 바로 왕이 '기회를 놓친 허풍선' 이라고 외쳐라'
  3. 전능하신 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '내가 분명히 말하지만 다볼산이나 해변의 갈멜산처럼 의젓한 자가 이집트를 치러 나올 것이다.
  4. 이집트 사람들아, 너희는 포로로 잡혀갈 준비를 하라. 멤피스가 황폐하여 사람이 살지 않는 폐허가 될 것이다.
  5. 이집트가 아무리 아름다운 암송아지 같을지라도 북에서 쇠파리가 날아오고 있다.
  1. Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation.
  2. The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
  3. They shall cut down her forest, saith the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.
  4. The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.
  5. The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him:
  1. 그들이 고용한 외국인 용병까지도 외양간에 갇혀 있는 송아지처럼 무력하여 맞서 싸우지 못하고 모두 돌아서서 달아나니 그들에게 재앙의 날이 이르렀고 그들이 벌받을 때가 되었구나.
  2. 이집트 사람들이 뱀처럼 슬그머니 달아날 것이다. 적군이 벌목하는 자처럼 도끼를 가지고 쳐들어올 것이기 때문이다.
  3. 이집트의 숲이 아무리 울창하여도 적군들이 그것을 찍어 버릴 것이니 그들의 수가 메뚜기떼보다 많아 헤아릴 수 없기 때문이다.
  4. 이집트 국민은 수치를 당하고 북쪽 사람들에게 정복당할 것이다.'
  5. 전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다. '내가 데베스의 아몬 신과 바로와 이집트와 이집트의 신들과 그 왕들과 바로를 의지하는 모든 자들에게 벌을 내려
  1. And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the LORD.
  2. But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
  3. Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
  1. 그들을 죽이려고 하는 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살왕과 그 신하들에게 그들을 넘겨 주겠다. 그러나 그 후에도 이집트 땅에는 이전처럼 여전히 사람들이 살 것이다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.'
  2. '내 백성아, 두려워하지 말아라. 이스라엘아, 놀라지 말아라. 내가 너희를 멀리 포로 된 땅에서 구해 내겠다. 너희가 다시 고국으로 돌아와 평화롭고 안전하게 살 것이니 너희를 두렵게 할 자가 없을 것이다.
  3. 내 백성아, 두려워하지 말아라. 내가 너희와 함께 한다. 내가 너희를 흩어 보낸 그 나라들은 완전히 없애 버려도 너희만은 전멸시키지 않겠다. 그러나 내가 너희를 정당하게 징계할 것이며 너희를 전혀 벌하지 않은 채 그대로 내버려 두지는 않을 것이다.'
