	사무엘하 5:1-6:23 이스보셋의 죽음으로 사울 집안과의 내전은 끝났고 다윗은 전이스라엘의 왕으로 등극했다. 다윗은 예루살렘을 점령하여 다윗 성으로 삼았다. 왕권을 확립한 다윗은 법궤를 다윗 성으로 옮기기로 결정하였다. 그러나 1차 운반은 규례에 어긋난 방법으로 인해 실패했고, 3개월 후 다시 시도한 끝에 법궤는 예루살렘에 안치되었다.

	전이스라엘의 왕이 된 다윗(5:1-5:25)

Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.

So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.

David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

이스라엘의 모든 지파가 헤브론으로 다윗을 찾아가서 말하였다. "우리는 임금님과 한 골육입니다.

전에 사울이 왕이 되어서 우리를 다스릴 때에, 이스라엘 군대를 거느리고 출전하였다가 다시 데리고 돌아오신 분이 바로 임금님이십니다. 그리고 주님께서 '네가 나의 백성 이스라엘의 목자가 될 것이며, 네가 이스라엘의 통치자가 될 것이다' 하고 말씀하실 때에도 바로 임금님을 가리켜 말씀하신 것입니다."

그리하여 이스라엘의 모든 장로가 헤브론으로 왕을 찾아오니, 다윗 왕이 헤브론에서 주님 앞으로 나아가 그들과 언약을 세웠다. 그리고 그들은 다윗에게 기름을 부어서, 이스라엘의 왕으로 삼았다.

다윗은 서른 살에 왕이 되어서, 사십 년 동안 다스렸다.

그는 헤브론에서 일곱 해 여섯 달 동안 유다를 다스리고, 예루살렘에서 서른세 해 동안 온 이스라엘과 유다를 다스렸다.

And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.

Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.

다윗 왕이 부하들을 거느리고 예루살렘으로 가서, 그 땅에 사는 여부스 사람을 치려고 하니, 그들이 다윗에게 말하였다. "너는 여기에 들어올 수 없다. 눈 먼 사람이나 다리 저는 사람도 너쯤은 물리칠 수 있다." 그들은, 다윗이 그 곳으로는 들어올 수 없을 것이라고 생각한 것이다.

（그러나 다윗이 시온 산성을 점령하였으므로, 그 곳의 이름을 '다윗 성'이라고 하였다.）

그 날, 다윗이 이렇게 명령을 내렸다. "누구든지 여부스 사람을 치려거든, 물을 길어 올리는 바위벽을 타고 올라가서, 저 여부스 사람들 곧 다윗이 몹시 미워하는 저 '다리 저는 자들'과 '눈 먼 자들'을 쳐죽여라!" （그래서 '눈 먼 사람과 다리 저는 사람은 왕궁에 들어갈 수 없다'는 속담이 생겼다.）

다윗은 그 산성을 점령하고 나서, 그 산성에 살면서, 그 이름을 '다윗 성'이라고 하였다. 그가 성을 쌓았는데, 밀로에서부터 안쪽으로 성을 쌓았다.

만군의 주 하나님이 다윗과 함께 계시므로, 다윗이 점점 강대해졌다.

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.

And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.

And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

두로 왕 히람이 다윗에게, 사절단과 함께 백향목과 목수와 석수를 보내어서, 다윗에게 궁궐을 지어 주게 하였다.

다윗은, 주님께서 자기를 이스라엘의 왕으로 굳건히 세워 주신 것과, 그의 백성 이스라엘을 번영하게 하시려고 자기의 나라를 높여 주신 것을, 깨달아 알았다.

다윗은, 헤브론에서 떠나온 뒤에, 예루살렘에 와서 더 많은 후궁과 아내들을 맞아들여서, 또 자녀를 낳았다.

그가 예루살렘에서 낳은 아이들의 이름은, 삼무아와 소밥과 나단과 솔로몬과

입할과 엘리수아와 네벡과 야비아와

And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.

But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.

엘리사마와 엘리아다와 엘리벨렛이다.

다윗이 기름부음을 받아 이스라엘의 왕이 되었다는 소식을 블레셋 사람이 듣고, 온 블레셋 사람이 다윗을 잡으려고 올라왔다. 다윗이 이 말을 듣고서, 요새로 내려갔다.

블레셋 사람들이 이미 몰려와서, 르바임 골짜기의 평원을 가득히 메우고 있었다.

다윗이 주님께 아뢰었다. "제가 저 블레셋 사람들을 치러 올라가도 되겠습니까? 주님께서 그들을 저의 손에 넘겨 주시겠습니까?" 주님께서 다윗에게 대답하셨다. "올라가거라. 내가 저 블레셋 사람들을 반드시 너의 손에 넘겨 주겠다."

그래서 다윗이 바알브라심으로 쳐들어갔다. 다윗이 거기에서 블레셋 사람들을 쳐서 이기고 나서, 이렇게 말하였다. "홍수가 모든 것을 휩쓸어 버리듯이, 주님께서 나의 원수들을 내 앞에서 그렇게 휩쓸어 버리셨다." 그래서 사람들이 그 곳 이름을 바알브라심이라고 한다.

And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.

And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

블레셋 사람들이 그들의 온갖 우상을 그 곳에 버리고 도망하였으므로, 다윗이 부하들과 함께 그 신상들을 치웠다.

블레셋 사람들이 또 올라와서, 르바임 골짜기의 평원을 가득 메웠다.

다윗이 주님께 또 아뢰니, 주님께서 대답하셨다. "너는 정면으로 그들 쪽으로 올라가지 말고, 그들의 뒤로 돌아가서 숨어 있다가, 뽕나무 숲의 맞은쪽에서부터 그들을 기습하여 공격하여라.

뽕나무 밭 위쪽에서 행군하는 소리가 나거든, 너는 곧 진격하여라. 그러면, 나 주가 너보다 먼저 가서, 블레셋 군대를 치겠다."

다윗은 주님께서 명하신 대로, 게바에서 게셀에 이르기까지 쫓아가면서, 블레셋 군대를 무찔렀다.

	예루살렘에 안치된 법궤(6:1-6:23)

Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.

And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.

And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.

And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.

And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.

다윗이 다시 이스라엘에서 정병 삼만 명을 징집하여서,

그들을 모두 이끌고 유다의 바알라로 올라갔다. 거기에서 하나님의 궤를 옮겨 올 생각이었다. 그 궤는 그룹들 위에 앉아 계신 만군의 주님의 이름으로 부르는 궤였다.

그들이 언덕 위에 있는 아비나답의 집에서 하나님의 궤를 꺼내서, 새 수레에 싣고 나올 때에, 아비나답의 두 아들 웃사와 아히요가 그 새 수레를 몰았다.

그들이 산에 있는 아비나답의 집에서 하나님의 궤를 싣고 나올 때에, 아히요는 궤 앞에서 걸었고,

다윗과 이스라엘의 모든 가문은, 온 힘을 다하여서, 잣나무로 만든 온갖 악기와 수금과 거문고를 타며, 소구와 꽹과리와 심벌즈를 치면서, 주님 앞에서 기뻐하였다.

And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.

And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?

So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.

그들이 나곤의 타작 마당에 이르렀을 때에, 소들이 뛰어서 궤가 떨어지려고 하였으므로, 웃사가 손을 내밀어 하나님의 궤를 꼭 붙들었는데,

주 하나님이 웃사에게 진노하셔서 거기에서 그를 치시니, 그가 거기 하나님의 궤 곁에서 죽었다.

주님께서 그렇게 급격히 웃사를 벌하셨으므로, 다윗이 화를 내었다. 그래서 그 곳 이름을 오늘날까지 베레스 웃사라고 한다.

그 날 다윗은 이 일 때문에 주님이 무서워서 "이래서야 내가 어떻게 주님의 궤를 내가 있는 곳으로 옮길 수 있겠는가?" 하였다.

그래서 다윗은 주님의 궤를 '다윗 성'으로 옮기지 않고, 가드 사람 오벳에돔의 집으로 실어 가게 하였다.

And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.

And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.

And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

그래서 주님의 궤가 가드 사람 오벳에돔의 집에서 석 달 동안 머물렀는데, 그 때에 주님께서 오벳에돔과 그의 온 집안에 복을 내려 주셨다.

누군가가, 오벳에돔의 집에 하나님의 궤를 보관하였기 때문에, 주님께서 오벳에돔의 집과 그에게 딸린 모든 것에 복을 내려 주셨다는 소식을, 다윗 왕에게 전하였다. 그리하여 다윗은 기쁜 마음으로 가서, 하나님의 궤를 오벳에돔의 집에서 '다윗 성'으로 가지고 올라왔다. 궤를 옮길 때에 그는 큰 축제를 벌였다.

다윗은, 주님의 궤를 멘 사람들이 여섯 걸음을 옮겼을 때에, 행렬을 멈추게 하고, 소와 살진 양을 제물로 잡아서 바쳤다.

그리고 다윗은 모시로 만든 에봇만을 걸치고, 주님 앞에서 온 힘을 다하여 힘차게 춤을 추었다.

다윗과 온 이스라엘 가문은 환호성을 올리고, 나팔 소리가 우렁찬 가운데, 주님의 궤를 옮겨 왔다.

And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.

And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.

And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.

Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

주님의 궤가 '다윗 성'으로 들어올 때에, 사울의 딸 미갈이 창 밖을 내다보다가, 다윗 왕이 주님 앞에서 뛰면서 춤을 추는 것을 보고, 마음 속으로 그를 업신여겼다.

그들이 주님의 궤를 들어다가, 다윗이 궤를 두려고 쳐 놓은 장막 안 제자리에 옮겨 놓았을 때에, 다윗이 주님 앞에 번제와 화목제를 드렸다.

다윗은 번제와 화목제를 드리고 나서, 만군의 주님의 이름으로 백성에게 복을 빌어 주고,

그 곳에 모인 온 이스라엘 백성에게, 남녀를 가리지 않고, 각 사람에게, 빵 한 덩이와 고기 한 점과 건포도 과자 한 개씩을 나누어 주었다. 그런 다음에 온 백성이 각각 자기들의 집으로 돌아갔다.

다윗이 자기의 집안 식구들에게 복을 빌어 주려고 궁전으로 돌아가니, 사울의 딸 미갈이 다윗을 맞으러 나와서, 이렇게 말하였다. "오늘 이스라엘의 임금님이, 건달패들이 맨살을 드러내고 춤을 추듯이, 신하들의 아내가 보는 앞에서 몸을 드러내며 춤을 추셨으니, 임금님의 체통이 어떻게 되었겠습니까?"

And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.

And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

다윗이 미갈에게 대답하였다. "그렇소. 내가 주님 앞에서 그렇게 춤을 추었소. 주님께서는, 그대의 아버지와 그의 온 집안이 있는데도, 그들을 마다하시고, 나를 뽑으셔서, 주님의 백성 이스라엘을 다스리도록, 통치자로 세워 주셨소. 그러니 나는 주님을 찬양할 수밖에 없소. 나는 언제나 주님 앞에서 기뻐하며 뛸 것이오.

내가 스스로를 보아도 천한 사람처럼 보이지만, 주님을 찬양하는 일 때문이라면, 이보다 더 낮아지고 싶소. 그래도 그대가 말한 그 여자들은 나를 더욱더 존경할 것이오."

이런 일 때문에 사울의 딸 미갈은 죽는 날까지 자식을 낳지 못하였다.
