열왕기하 13:1-14:29

 여호아하스와 요아스는 비록 바알 우상은 제거하였으나 여로보암이 만든 금송아지 우상 숭배에서는 벗어나지 못하므로써 아람군의 침입을 받는 징벌을 받았다. 아람의 압제하에 고통받는 이스라엘에 대해 엘리사는 하나님의 회복을 예언하고 운명했다. 한편 유다 왕 아마샤는 선정을 베풀며 강성해 갔으나 요아스에게 도전했다가 크게 패하고 신하들에 의해 피살되었다. 이스라엘 왕 여로보암 2세는 악정에도 불구하고 번영을 이루어 갔다.
  
  여호아하스와 요아스의 통치(13:1-13:25)    
 
  1. In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years.
  2. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.
  3. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, all their days.
  4. And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.
  5. (And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.
  1. 유다 왕 아하시야의 아들 요아스 왕 제 이십삼년에 예후의 아들 여호아하스가 이스라엘을 다스리는 왕이 되어, 사마리아에서 열일곱 해 동안 다스렸다.
  2. 그러나 그는 주님 보시기에 악한 행동을 하였고, 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄를 따라가, 그 길에서 돌아서지 않았다.
  3. 그리하여 주님께서는 이스라엘에게 진노하셔서, 시리아의 하사엘 왕의 손에 그들을 넘기시고, 계속해서 하사엘의 아들 벤하닷의 손에 넘기셨다.
  4. 그러나 여호아하스가 주님께 간절히 용서를 구하니, 주님께서 그의 간구를 들어주셨다. 이스라엘이 시리아 왕의 억압으로 고난을 받고 있음을 보셨기 때문이다.
  5. 그래서 주님께서는 이스라엘에 구원자를 보내어, 시리아의 손에서부터 벗어나게 하셨고, 이스라엘 자손은 예전처럼 그들의 장막에서 편안하게 살았다.
  1. Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, but walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.)
  2. Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.
  3. Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
  4. And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead.
  5. In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned sixteen years.
  1. 그럼에도 이스라엘 자손은, 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 여로보암 가문의 죄로부터 돌아서지 않고, 여전히 그 길을 그대로 걸으며, 사마리아에는 아세라 목상까지도 그냥 세워 두었다.
  2. 시리아 왕이 여호아하스의 군대를 공격하여 타작 마당의 먼지같이 만들었기 때문에, 여호아하스에게는 겨우 기마병 오십 명과 병거 열 대와 보병 만 명만이 남았다.
  3. 여호아하스의 나머지 행적과 그가 한 모든 일과, 그가 누린 권세는 '이스라엘 왕 역대지략'에 기록되어 있다.
  4. 여호아하스가 죽으니, 사마리아에 안장하였고, 그의 아들 여호아스가 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었다.
  5. 유다의 요아스 왕 제 삼십칠년에 여호아하스의 아들 여호아스가 이스라엘의 왕이 되어, 사마리아에서 열여섯 해 동안 다스렸다.
  1. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin: but he walked therein.
  2. And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
  3. And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat upon his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
  4. Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
  5. And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.
  1. 그는, 주님께서 보시기에 악을 행하였고, 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 모든 죄로부터 돌아서지 않고, 그 길을 그대로 걸었다.
  2. 여호아스의 나머지 행적과 그가 한 모든 일, 또 그가 유다 왕 아마샤와 싸운 용맹은, '이스라엘 왕 역대지략'에 기록되어 있다.

  1. And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king's hands.
  2. And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD's deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
  3. And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.
  4. And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.
  5. And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.
  1. 엘리사가 이스라엘 왕에게 말하였다. "활을 잡으십시오." 그가 활을 잡으니, 엘리사가 그의 손 위에 자기의 손을 얹었다.
  2. 엘리사가 말하였다. "동쪽 창문을 여십시오." 왕이 창문을 열자, 엘리사가 말하였다. "쏘십시오." 그가 활을 쏘자, 엘리사가 말하였다. "주님의 승리의 화살입니다. 시리아를 이길 승리의 화살입니다. 임금님께서는 아벡에서 시리아를 쳐서, 완전히 진멸하실 것입니다."

  4. 하나님의 사람이 그에게 화를 내며 말하였다. "임금님께서 대여섯 번 치셨으면 시리아 군을 진멸할 때까지 쳐부술 수 있었을 터인데, 고작 세 번입니까? 이제 임금님께서는 겨우 세 번만 시리아를 칠 수 있을 것입니다."
  5. 그런 다음에 엘리사가 죽으니, 거기에 장사하였다. 그 뒤에 모압의 도적 떼가 해마다 이스라엘 땅을 침범하였다.
  1. And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
  2. But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
  3. And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.
  4. So Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his stead.
  5. And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
  1. 한 번은 장사지내는 사람들이 어떤 사람의 주검을 묻고 있다가, 이 도적 떼를 보게 되었다. 그러자 그들은 놀라서 그 주검을 엘리사의 무덤에 내던지고 달아났는데, 그 때에 그 사람의 뼈가 엘리사의 뼈에 닿자, 그 사람이 살아나서 제 발로 일어섰다.
  2. 시리아의 하사엘 왕은 여호아하스가 다스리는 동안에 줄곧 이스라엘을 억압하였다.
  3. 그러나 주님께서 이스라엘에게 은혜를 베푸셔서, 그들을 불쌍히 여기시고, 그들을 굽어살피셨다. 이는 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱과 맺으신 언약 때문이었다. 그래서 그들을 멸망시키지 않으시고, 이제까지 주님 앞에서 쫓아내지 않으셨다.
  4. 시리아의 하사엘 왕이 죽고, 그의 아들 벤하닷이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었다.
  5. 이 때에 여호아하스의 아들 여호아스가 하사엘의 아들 벤하닷의 손에서 성읍들을 도로 되찾았다. 이 성읍들은 부왕 여호아하스가 전쟁으로 빼앗겼던 것이다. 여호아스는 세 번이나 벤하닷을 쳐서, 이스라엘의 성읍들을 도로 되찾았다.
 
  아마샤와 여로보암의 통치(14:1-14:29)    
 
  1. In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.
  2. He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
  3. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.
  4. Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.
  5. And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.
  1. 이스라엘 왕 여호아하스의 아들 여호아스 제 이년에 유다 왕 요아스의 아들 아마샤가 유다 왕이 되었다.
  2. 그는 스물다섯 살에 왕위에 올라, 예루살렘에서 스물아홉 해 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니 여호앗단은 예루살렘 태생이다.
  3. 아마샤는 주님께서 보시기에 올바른 일을 하기는 하였으나, 그의 조상 다윗만큼은 하지 못하였고, 아버지 요아스가 한 것만큼 하였다.
  4. 그리하여 산당은 제거되지 않은 채로, 백성은 여전히 산당에서 제사를 드리며 분향을 하고 있었다.
  5. 왕권을 확고하게 장악한 다음에, 아마샤는 부왕을 살해한 신하들을 처형하였다.
  1. But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
  2. He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day.
  3. Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.
  4. And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.
  5. Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory of this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
  1. 그러나 그는 처형한 신하의 자녀는 죽이지 않았다. 그것은 모세의 율법서에 기록된 말씀을 따른 것이다. 거기에는 "아버지가 자녀 대신에 처형되어서도 안 되고, 또 자녀가 아버지 대신에 처형되어서도 안 된다. 오직 각 사람은 자신이 지은 죄에 따라 처형되어야 한다" 하고 말씀하신 주님의 명령이 있다.
  2. 아마샤는 '소금 계곡'에서 에돔 사람 만 명을 쳐죽이고, 또 셀라를 쳐서 점령한 다음에, 그 이름을 욕드엘이라고 하였는데, 오늘까지 그렇게 불리고 있다.
  3. 그 때에 아마샤가, 예후의 손자요 여호아하스의 아들인 이스라엘의 여호아스 왕에게 전령을 보내어, 서로 직접 만나 힘을 겨루어 보자고 제안하였다.
  4. 이스라엘의 여호아스 왕은, 유다의 아마샤 왕에게 사람을 보내어, 이렇게 회답하였다. "레바논의 가시나무가 레바논의 백향목에게 전갈을 보내어 백향목의 딸을 며느리로 달라고 청혼하는 것을 보고, 레바논의 들짐승이 지나가다 그 가시나무를 짓밟은 일이 있다.
  5. 네가 에돔을 쳐서 이기더니, 너무 오만해진 것 같다. 차라리 왕궁에나 머물면서, 네가 누리는 영화를 만족하게 여겨라. 어찌하여 너는, 너 자신과 유다를 함께 멸망시킬 화근을, 스스로 불러들이느냐?"
  1. But Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.
  2. And Judah was put to the worse before Israel; and they fled every man to their tents.
  3. And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Bethshemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
  4. And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.
  5. Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
  1. 그러나 아마샤가 끝내 듣지 않자, 이스라엘의 여호아스 왕이 올라와서, 유다 왕 아마샤를 맞아, 유다의 영토인 벳세메스에서 대치하였다.
  2. 그러나 유다 군대는 이스라엘 군대에게 패하여, 뿔뿔이 흩어져 각자 자기의 집으로 도망하였다.
  3. 이스라엘의 여호아스 왕은 벳세메스에서 아하시야의 손자요 요아스의 아들인 유다의 아마샤 왕을 사로잡아서, 예루살렘으로 들어왔다. 그는 예루살렘 성벽을 에브라임 문에서부터 성 모퉁이 문에 이르기까지, 사백 자를 허물어 버렸다.
  4. 그는 또 주님의 성전과 왕궁의 보물 창고에 있는 금과 은과 모든 그릇을 약탈하고, 사람까지 볼모로 잡아서, 사마리아로 돌아갔다.

  1. And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.
  2. And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.
  3. And the rest of the acts of Amaziah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
  4. Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem: and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.
  5. And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
  1. 여호아스가 죽으니, 사마리아에 있는 이스라엘 왕들의 묘실에 안장하였고, 그의 아들 여로보암이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었다.
  2. 유다의 요아스 왕의 아들 아마샤는, 이스라엘의 여호아하스 왕의 아들 여호아스가 죽은 뒤에도 열다섯 해를 더 살았다.
  3. 아마샤의 나머지 행적은 '유다 왕 역대지략'에 기록되어 있다.
  4. 예루살렘에서 반란이 일어나자, 아마샤는 라기스로 도망하였다. 그러나 반란을 일으킨 사람들은 라기스에까지 사람을 보내어, 거기에서 그를 죽였고,
  5. 그의 주검을 말에 싣고 와서, 예루살렘 안의 '다윗 성'에 그의 조상과 함께 장사지냈다.
  1. And all the people of Judah took Azariah, which was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah.
  2. He built Elath, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
  3. In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years.
  4. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
  5. He restored the coast of Israel from the entering of Hamath unto the sea of the plain, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel, which he spake by the hand of his servant Jonah, the son of Amittai, the prophet, which was of Gathhepher.
  1. 유다의 온 백성은 아사랴를 왕으로 삼아 그의 아버지 아마샤의 뒤를 잇게 하였다. 그가 왕이 되었을 때에, 그의 나이는 열여섯이었다.
  2. 아마샤 왕이 죽은 뒤에, 아사랴는 엘랏을 재건하여 유다에 귀속시켰다.
  3. 유다의 요아스 왕의 아들 아마샤 제 십오년에, 이스라엘의 여호아스 왕의 아들 여로보암이 왕이 되어, 사마리아에서 마흔한 해 동안 다스렸다.
  4. 그는 주님께서 보시기에 악을 행하고, 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄에서 떠나지 아니하고, 그것을 그대로 본받았다.
  5. 그러나 그는 이스라엘의 국경을 하맛 어귀로부터 아라바 바다까지 회복하였다. 이것은 주 이스라엘의 하나님께서 그의 종인 가드헤벨 사람 아밋대의 아들 요나 예언자에게 말씀하신 그대로였다.
  1. For the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter: for there was not any shut up, nor any left, nor any helper for Israel.
  2. And the LORD said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
  3. Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which belonged to Judah, for Israel, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
  4. And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zachariah his son reigned in his stead.
  1. 주님께서는 이스라엘의 고난이 너무 심하여, 매인 사람이나 자유로운 사람이나 할 것 없이 한 사람도 남아 있지 않아, 이스라엘을 돕는 사람이라고는 아무도 없는 것을 보셨다.
  2. 주님께서는 이스라엘의 이름을 하늘 아래에서 지워 없애겠다고 말씀하시지 않았기 때문에, 여호아스의 아들 여로보암을 시켜서 그들을 구원하신 것이다.
  3. 여로보암의 나머지 행적과, 그가 한 모든 일과, 그가 전쟁에서 보인 능력과, 유다에 속하였던 다마스쿠스와 하맛을 이스라엘에게 되돌려 준 일들은 '이스라엘 왕 역대지략'에 기록되어 있다.
  4. 여로보암이 그의 조상인 이스라엘의 왕들과 함께 누워 잠드니, 그의 아들 스가랴가 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었다.
